Teleprompter — Video & Mirror reviews
4.4 out of 5, based on 2,019 reviews.
What people like
- It works perfectly for its purpose
- Very simple and easy to use
- Font size is big enough to read
- Scroll speed adjusts to your speaking pace
What they complain about
- Mirror mode costs extra money
- You cannot delete saved scripts
- Editing and renaming scripts is broken
- Updates deleted my entire script library
Great
It is perfect, exactly for the intended purpose!! I love it and is great for speeches and lectures in social media!!
Immediately stopped working
I would love this app and give great reviews if it would start working again. The new “bug fixes” have ruined a good app. Almost impossible to add a new script and it won’t save any changes to existing scripts - not to mention that the “update” deleted my entire library of scripts. Please either roll back the version or create a new one that actually works
Lite is ok
The free version is ok but you cannot delete scripts and it’s super difficult to name/rename a script (iPad mini)
Not for ipads
On an IPad when you’re typing your script after several lines of type you can’t see what you’re typing because the keypad covers up the line of script.
No encouragement to upgrade
I like this app and paid £7.99 to upgrade to pro. I was then offered an upgrade to voicepromter for £19.99. This is the price I would have paid if I had bought this app first so this is a disincentive to upgrading. Charging £12 would be fair.
Works for me!
I found out about this from a few DIY YouTubers, and it has helped me muddle through the creation of several videos for my distance learning students. I can write my script, adjust the speed it scrolls by, and I can appear to really know what I am talking about!
Can’t Edit Text
Once you enter text into your script, you can Save any edits.

Trickery to get your email
Upon installing this app they make it look like you need a "key" which requires your email address. I discovered after that there was a little "skip" button - so proceeded to try the app and it is useless with an actual teleprompter as it makes "mirror mode" a PAID feature - it is actually a necessary feature to use a Teleprompter app with any Teleprompter or the text is forever reversed. Don't bother with downloading this free app if you have a normal teleprompter - gave it two stars for decent speed control...of a useless app
Hard to use
Unable to replace text alteration, hindering my flow
Easy peasy!
So easy to use! If you need a simple TelePrompTer, this one is for you!! And it’s free...
be warned
There is a product number that’s needed and according to the app you have to submit your email. You will not get a product number but a thank you and encouraging you to get the pro version. Without the product number the app doesn’t work. Someone is getting paid for the emails.
Nice TelePrompTer app
This app did exactly what I needed it to do!
Almost unusable unless you buy the pro version
The app spends so much effort trying to get you to buy the pro version it forgets to let you use the version downloaded. Almost nothing works but it appears it might until you try, then yes, you get the prompt to buy... deleted I’ll look elsewhere or cope manually.
Only free if you type in no importing
The free version of the app will only allow you to type in text to read. If you want to do anything else, you have to purchase the premium version. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but I would like to actually try the app by importing at least one document or seeing how the app functions by using other features before prompting me to purchase the upgrade.
Exactly What I Needed!
I have a military background in television filming, and teleprompters were crucial in the creation of most of our projects at the Pentagon. Now that I have this app on my iPad, I have the ability to film studio-quality campaign speeches for my election, right from my home, during this Wuhan pandemic. Thanks!
Typical bait and switch…
“Sure… download our cool teleprompter app. Oh… what’s that? You want to actually use it as a teleprompter?! Oh, you’ll have to upgrade to premium for that”. I got a better idea… Deleted!
Nice APP
Little difficult to adjust the scroll rate, but works as expected.
Need lots more work!
This app does a nice job if you can load your script and not need to edit it. However, the editing aspect is very cumbersome. And God forbid that you have multiple scripts and try to name them. It’s virtually impossible.
Bewertung
Hat mir sehr geholfen bei einem kurzen Werbedreh, einfach zu bedienen drei Seiten eine Bewertung abgeben, Was mich jetzt am Arbeiten hindern
Teleprompt
This is a great app. I like that I can change the speed and the font is big enough I can read it if it's a distance away. I have had to make a few 'in prompt-to' video's for work & this app has saved my butt! When I don't have time to memorize my lines, I use my tablet, set it below my camera & it doesn't look like I'm reading it!
Don’t bother unless you’re ready to pay!
You can’t even do the most basic things without paying for the Pro version. Come on, can’t even name your scripts. Can’t even paste???? I feel robbed even though it was a free download for completely wasting time and effort. You can’t even do anything unless you send them your name and email address to get a key to open it! Can’t believe this is even allowed here as it’s completely disabled w/o paying.
Useful app
I use this app for speech therapy for a student who speaks to rapidly
Lite version is practically worthless
You can’t copy and paste a script in from any other place in the Lite version. This renders it worthless. I’m not going to type in a long text using the iPad in a place I cannot reliably save it.
I have to write a review to use app 2nd time
I don’t know how good the app is because of this huge push to force my review after 1 use. If it continues to be great after several weeks, then I’ll return and up to 5 stars and buy the pro version - the way adults often do business.
Good
Good service
Doesn’t Work
I’m not sure what I am doing wrong but every time I save a script, it disappears. When I open the ap, I can see my untitled scripts but as soon as I select one, I get a blank screen. Sorry but I won’t purchase the Pro version if I can’t even get it to save a script and play it back.
It is a help
I just have the basic one. But find it mostly does what I want. Haven’t been able to work some of it out as there aren’t any instructions. I’m not sure about upgrading as the very poor reviews put me off..
Useless
The free version or maybe even the pro version does not let you see yourself on video as you read the teleprompter so your viewers can see your face as you read from the teleprompter so could not try it like I wanted. Developers are too cheap to let us try the pro version and see all the features so fine, they get 2 stars for wasting my time. Thanks for playing!
Not all that
I though this app was good until I tried to rename a script. Then they all vanished and I couldn't rename any. It happens every time I touch the name of a script. Shame really, seemed OK at first.
TelePrompTer
Works great!
Not as advertised.
This does not work as a teleprompter without paying for the upgrade
Mr
A nice little app, ideal for when you have to say a few words in public.
Slowest Speed Too Fast
If I want to use the Teleprompter for singing the lyrics of some of my songs, the slowest speed is still too quick. An easy fix, surely, but until then it's not much use to me.
Can't delete files?!
This app is very good, I would give this 5 stars but I can't delete files. This needs to be updated so I can delete files.
FABULOUS
This app was exactly what I needed and saved my video shoot. Simple to use and worked like a charm. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
parasız versiyonu boş
parasız versiyonu boş ayna özelliğini test edemiyorsun
Was great but issues now with editing.
As the former reviews states, editing script is no longer possible. The screen porting for the editing goes blank. Having said that it has been the best teleprompter app I have used until now and I would really wish the editing gets resolved. I would have given it a 5 star if not for this lately issue of editing.
Great. Shame about the emails
Great idea and it's handy for work. But I've unsubscribed to the update/spam email every time I receive it but it doesn't make a difference. Deleted the app
Good but some issues
I tried to find the way to remove older scripts, but I can't. Despite this it is a good option
Perfect for the average user!
I used it to tape a video for work and linked my iPad to a big screen TV and it worked wonders. Easy to use and adjust the speed based on the readers liking. Thank you!
Terrible!!
I didn't read enough reviews before I bought the Pro version. You have to have Pro to import scripts, so I purchased it and found that I couldn't use the Drop Box feature because my IPad was not compatible. I tried to get a refund, but no luck. Don't waste your money unless you know for sure everything will work on your device.
Good App
The app is great. I use it for my YouTube videos and it does exactly what it is supposed to do. Some people complain that when they import a text file that nothing shows up. That's not a problem with the app. The font needs to be white because the app scrolls in white font with a black background. If the file is imported with black font, it won't show up on the black background. I also found no problem with the various speeds. All works great.
Useless
This version is useless! The screen only has two settings fast or slow and the slow setting is too quick for normal use . Forces you to buy the upgrade.
Not what I wanted
I was looking for an auto cue for a best man speech but this does not have enough control. Too fast and no easy way to pause it. Why would you need the fast setting when the slow setting is too quick. Swipe control to control the text would be helpful. I have also discovered that it shuts down without warning when the script is scrolling, so I am not able to rely on it so it is no good for making speeches.
Simple, Simple, Simple
Dare I say more. I don’t know what other people are looking for but if you need to put a script together and read it into a microphone while adjusting the scrolling text to your speaking ability this is it. You type the script, save it and then adjust the scroll speed. What else do you people need. so simple I wish I could have seen a review like this before I started looking through the mass amounts of not what I was looking for TelePrompTers.
Couldn’t get this product to work
Instructions for importing .txt file were not correct. Figured it out and got the file imported into the teleprompter app. But, file did not appear to be readable by the app. Nothing happened when I attempted to “Start” the teleprompter. It appears that this product has not been updated in 4 years? Maybe that is why it just doesn’t work. I will attempt to get the $$ back that I paid to upgrade.
Muy buena
Sin duda gran aplicacion, facil de usar muy intuitiva. Gracias!!
Text disappears randomly
App has to be fully restarted sometimes in order to work again. Text just disappears.
