Doesn’t work
Don’t waste your time. This doesn’t work. There is no way to create a document or add your script into the app. I wasn’t missing something. I spent a long time troubleshooting this. It literally does not work.
Reader Line
App works well. One suggestion would be to add a reader line to make it easier to find where you are up to when using the app to read a public speech.
Frustrating
So frustrating to try and find a blank page to add my text to. I had to erase the instructions just so I could have a place to add my text. This app needs work.
Great tool for teaching!
I really love this app. It's been really helpful as a teaching tool to make sure I'm prepared with what to say before I'm in front of students. I really do wish it was a Mac version that would sync across devices to make it easier to take what I write to put it in the app.
No mirror mode
Nowhere the mirror mode
Underwhelmed
I am supposed to be able to upload a script. So far all I have are glitches.
Excellent but no width setting
This is an excellent app but I can’t use it at is because there’s no option to change width of the scrolling text. I use a large iPad and on video, my eyes scanning the lines is quite obvious. I found an alternative app which isn’t quite as good but does offer to narrow the text to my preference and that means that when I view the video I am always looking at directly into the camera instead of side to side. If a width setting is added I would use this app every time. I also noticed that there is a restore purchases section in the app but as far as I can tell this is a totally free app with no option to purchase further options. Am I missing something here?
Iffy
It keeps dropping titles of each file and reverts to “script 12-name” very irritating on ipad 2 air
Useful & easy to use but with a serious flaw.
This is the first time we have needed to use a teleprompter and choose this app as it seemed to offer a simple interface and got some good reviews. It worked well but there are a couple of flaws one of which is serious. The serious flaw is it far to easy to loose edits to the script, there seems to be no “are you sure” dialogues and it doesn’t save the script automatically like many iPad apps so it catches you out and you can easily end up loosing a lot of work The second is text handling. We Imported a document exported from pages as plain text and it gave odd character sequences instead of apostrophes. It was probably an export problem but I think this app should be able to handle it because the built in editor is not good enough for large scripts and changes so you are very likely to have another editor in the workflow.
Great tool!
I use this app every week when I film the announcements for our church service. I love this app because it is easy to use, and it makes me look good on camera!
Glitches
Literally I’ll try to record and it doesn’t record anything and then it’s a blank screen
Black Friday
Got an email claiming it would give me the pro version. It never did, even tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Oh well. I hope some of you were able to take advantage of the nice gesture from the creator.
It’s good but needs updating
HI purchased the full system having used the lite version. Find it really useful for what I need it for. However, there is a Bluetooth issue whereby the keyboard is not connected to the full teleprompter screen so I have to use the ‘edit script’ function which only gives me half a screen at best. I have emailed the developer and had nothing back in response so feel let down by this. If this could be rectified then it would be a 4 star minimum
I just stop using it
I have the pro version but stop using it because it does not works with air turn products like pedpro 2 to control it remotlely like prompterpal app does.
Great UI
It lets me edit on the fly with minimal bloat, its user friendly and very elegant to the eye, 5/5
No access to pro after paying
I followed the upgrade to pro and the purchase completed. I got nothing. I’m going to demand a refund!
Ease of use
Great software must be simple to use. This teleprompter software is a great example of that. Been a tremendous confidence boost for producing marketing content for our business.
Inconsistent scroll speed
I bought the paid version. The scroll speed is inconsistent and keeps changing. It makes it very difficult to make adjustements. Othwerwise reasonably good app.
Bluetooth Keyboard Functionality
Hi there. The app works ok but doesn’t work with an external Bluetooth keyboard. It connects and we can type with it but can not control the scroll and stop start. Can you help thanks.
Can we get Cinematic video mode?
The app is teally great..would be glad if we get to see cinematic front facing camera with some blurs in the background
No paste feature anymore?
So you update it and I can’t do with this version what I could do in the ancient version on my old iPad mini 2: PASTE FROM NOTES! 1 star until fixed. Also, where’s the ability to have several scripts? Gone? Hidden? Thumbs down.
Really useful
I find this extremely useful and easy to use. If you could download or print the scripts it would get five stars .
Nearly there....
As a singer / songwriter, i thought this app would do the job but!!!!! Unless i am doing something wrong? Every time you go between doc’s it won’t remember the scroll speed which is fundamental flaw. If this can be rectified with an update, then a 5* from me. 👍
Common sense improvements needed
Doesn't support apostrophe or dash, so you're appears as youre etc. You can change the background colour but not the font colour, so you can't have black on white. These are things you'd expect a developer to spot and correct without needing a review, especially when it's a paid for app. Another suggestion: speed control should show words per minute.
Great App
Simple to use, allows 4k recording.
Importing documents
It can see the documents, but it can’t access them
Fix for TXT file import problem
You MUST use UTF-8 format for the txt files you import. That's not a default on the Mac. Go into Text Edit and change it in Preferences. Otherwise, a decent app.
Bluetooth just doesn´t work
I tried 3 separate bluetooth keyboards, and each time it couldn't see the connection. An autocue which you can’t control remotely isn’t all that useful really, and it´s certainly not worth paying for! The depressing thing is, if the Bluetooth worked, this would be a 5 star rave review!
Needs work
I bought the pro version. I have found some issues. 1. The text speed settings do not go slow enough 2. When using the mirror option with prompter kit. The text scrolls in the wrong direction. These issues mean that I am now using alternative software.
Great Teleprompter
there’s no need to look any further! Here’s the app you’re looking for. You can adjust your speed and now pause which is especially helpful for me because I do sometimes go off script. The placement of the text is perfect too for better eye contact with your viewers. And you can now import script documents directly into the Teleprompter.
Useless
In order to record yourself you need another app, making this app useless.
The complete package, and yet...
The current version (3.0.8) seems to have trouble recognising any attached Bluetooth devices: keyboards or remote controls. The developer has been notified and his response was immediate: this will be addressed in the next update. Thank you Matt.
Needs features fixed
I will start off with good. The blue tooth key board control works great. Now for some things to improve. Text import. Program claims that you can import plain txt file into the program. Using txt files from MS word in 3 different plain txt formats came up blank. Same when I tried to import plain Txt file from note pad again a blank screen. This feature was why I bought to pro version. After 3 weeks no response receive after notifying of this issues. Highlighting and font colour needs to improve. Very frustrating when go to highlight word and the line above gets highlighted and only half word lighloght. Change font colour also has similar issue it would change font colour on part of word and different. Some times it would work correctly other times if changing colour of wrong word or only part of the word. It is troubling that after 3 weeks no response about feature that does not work or response to say which txt program file works for import. The TelePrompt part works fine but program is far from being finished with state of current features.
Help! Please fix!
Please provide a link for bug-fix and support. The current link just sends me to the developer website- not too helpful. I liked using the app but I am encountering a lot of skipping with this program while scrolling. Please fix!
Great app
Truly recommended
Feels Abandoned and unloved
I bought this for my iPad as a friend has some music on the PC version of this App and we could share the files. First it does not have the same features as the PC version. Files have to imported, it cannot natively view files on Dropbox. Rich text is not supported (really)! It only supports landscape on my iPad. Bit of a disappointment
Bluetooth control has been broken by iOS9
To echo the other review, the Bluetooth control (stop/start etc.) was broken by iOS9 and needs an update Otherwise perfect!
Ok but needs work
I could not find how to remove a script. I'd like to see this in the next release.
Needs work
I also had no luck importing .txt files. It would give me the option to open the text file in the app but it was always blank each time I tried. A very strange feature not available is the ability to delete the file once you are done with it! I finally just copied and pasted new copy into the file I created and renamed it! I guess it will be on my iPad until I get rid of the app... Loved the use ability , the scroll rate was great and easy to customize.
Easy to use, great homework helper
This app is great. I love how it is easy to use, very basic settings. Helped me record my presentations for school. I often forget my lines and get stage fright while recording school presentations and this app was a total life saver. I don’t need to memorize anything with this app and while recording I do not look like I’m reading my script.
BROKEN, NO SUPPORT
The app refuses to work with any Bluetooth keyboard and seems to be a bug others have left negative reviews about. Effectively makes this app useless for me. I contacted the developer but no reply.
A seriously good App
This is a seriously good app. Important to know that all text files needing to be UTF8. A big thank you to developer Matt Cowlin for his help. If you need a good Teleprompter app this is the one to get!
Need 3 features to pass
1. It doesn't have a pause/play 2. Doesn't have any way to get a consistent playback speed. You need a variable field that we can type a value in. 3.need to be able to touch and drag up or down.
Some issues
I've tried to import .txt files, but no success so far, as others have said. Also no way to delete scripts, and I have a blank for every failed import attempt. Everything else works well enough, but if they want 4 and 5 stars the publisher may want to fix these issues and listen to their users.
Easy to use
This app gets you going with practically no set up time at all. I needed a teleprompter in a pinch and this stepped up to the plate no problem.
useless
Does not work with remote.
Now Working, Thanks
This is a simple Teleprompter with a mirror image function. The previous version had a few key things missing, like a Start button, but this update has fixed that and added a few more good points. It works well now, thanks for fixing it.
Not very good
Not working very well. No start / stop. Pretty unstable.
