Great App
I use this app to listen to all my audiobooks. It’s got a good interface and is easy to use. I would have given it a 5 if it allowed me to download audiobooks onto my Apple watch and listen to them without needing an iPhone.
New update is terrible
I’ve used this app for a long time and been very happy with it. Sometime recently they put out an update. Every time I switch apps now while listening to a book the volume cuts by about 50%. My volume control will say it’s at 100%, but if I switch apps a few times I won’t even be able to hear by book anymore. Super frustrating and annoying

Excellent!
I’ve tried several audiobook apps and this is by far the best for ease of use, great features, and wonderful ui. Everything that you need is available on the main screen and easily accessible. Navigation is easy, settings for customizing are very flexible, and the support for bookmarks is superior. This is the one to buy.
crashes every minute
As of late 2025, the app gets killed by iOS every minute or so. I’ll be happy to update my review once this bug is fixed.
Seems to be OK
So far the only glitch that I’m experiencing is that the app starts lagging after prolonged use, a button press may take like 10 seconds or longer to respond, restarting the app resolves it. Besides that, love the app.
Audiobook
Got through 80% of my audiobook then it stopped and wanted a ransom of $3.99 to finish. If I would have known I wouldn’t have used this app.
Pro Functions No Longer Working
After the last update, my Pro purchase is no longer recognized. I have sent a support email with no response and the App Store support function for the app gives an error. I have been using the app for several years and live it, but without Pro it is not very useful. Please help.

Great app but having upload problems
I cannot get WiFi upload to work anymore. I have turned off the iOS ip privacy settings. The app still shows the friendly name rather than the ip and shows no port. I did try the ip:1111 anyway but no luck. I also tried to contact support but the form wouldn’t work. RESOLVED: Weirdly you have to turn “Private WiFi address” on for it to work
Not worth buying
I purchased this app based on its advertised features, such as the ability to download audiobooks from browsers and directly from YouTube. However, it doesn’t perform these functions consistently. The app is extremely glitchy, and the support team has been unresponsive. I would not recommend buying it.
Great app but I’m stuck and can’t get through customer service form
Please help - I’m stuck with the issue below but am getting an error when trying to submit it through your support web form. Great software but my restore purchase isn’t being recognized (even though receipt for pro shows in purchases history). Is there an email I can write to for help please?
Just what I was looking for
I recently got an iPad and I’ve been an android person my whole life. I was sad to see that smart audiobook player isn’t an app for iOS, so I went looking for an alternative. This perfect one. Premium is only $5.99 and it isn’t a subscription, it plays mp3, and m4b, and it allows you to combine multiple files into one audiobook super easily. It also has the sleep timer function, and the ability to boost audio for audio files that are very quiet. Simple to use, and a stripped down app without any5ing to make it more confusing to use
Bug
I have been using this app for years and it’s been amazing, but the lack of reporting a bug feature is inexcusable. Looked everywhere and could not find one There’s a really annoying bug that pauses the app every single 60 seconds when the phone is asleep or your on another app. I have tried everything to fix it but does not work. Makes the app unusable for me
Great app with a couple of arbitrary flaws
I have recently vowed to stop supporting Audible and have been totally blown away with the quality of this app. It has plenty of small quality of life features that make sorting and playing my audiobooks a lot easier. The app’s ability to automatically compile and keep track of my (often sporadic) files streamlines the upload process beautifully. I have so far only found two issues. The Home Screen widgets do not update with along with the book being played and do not transition from the detail image and text. This obviously does not affect the operation of the app itself, but would be helpful if fixed. Secondly, I have had a lot of difficultly with accessing the Wi-Fi upload feature. Getting large files onto your phone can be annoying, with cloud transfer often taking an age to occur. I was able to successfully use the app’s (incredibly useful) Wi-Fi upload only once. After that, each attempt to access your server has been met with error messages, or connection lasting only a few seconds before being booted again. Diagnostics claim that the issue is on the opposite end and not my side. I am therefore having to rely on the slow paced cloud transfer to move my books across.
Not sure it worth…
Frankly speaking I don’t see any advantages in comparison with default free app. For your money you need monkey around to upload books because it doesn’t work with iTunes as I understood.
Worked fine before the last update
Since the last update. The app won’t even launch correctly. It either freeze right after the splash screen or it just won’t open.

There may be something I don't know
I downloaded the app, selected an audiobook by Richard Dawkins I had dowloaded from my library, opened it in Kindle, played it on the Mac, but the iPhone version WILL NOT add the book, even though the same app on the Mac works. As I paid to upgrade to Pro, I either want my money back or for the developer to point out something I am missing. Also my review doesn't show up.
Will not play M4B files
The description says it should play m4b file naturally on an iPhone. It does not. I have to convert all my files to MP3. What a waste of time.

Does what it supposed to do
But the Apple Watch interface is so ugly. I uninstalled it from my watch and prefer the apple native player widget. If I didn’t have the watch I would give this app a perfect though.
Perfect DRM-Free Audiobook App
*edited May 13 2024 I don’t know what they changed but when I try to upload a book using wifi it crashes. Since I can’t add new books that makes it useless to me. —— It does everything I need: nice clean interface, many ways to transfer files including direct to iPhone, search function makes it easy to find your content, can change the speed of the audio (and it’s pre-EQ and sounds fantastic). Unlike some other apps it always keeps my place and doesn’t randomly restart from the beginning of the audio file. It does everything I need. Bravo!
Very versatile but have bugs
It keeps downloading the old materials again and again when you add new materials (books) I don’t know what to do and I am on a premium version.

Good audiobook player
I have enjoyed using this app though there are a couple of areas I would like to see improved. When importing books it doesn’t carry over the file names so I never know which file is which. Also the screen doesn’t automatically shut off meaning there have been several times I have fallen asleep and my phone was dead by the morning as the screen had been on all night. Otherwise it is a solid app. I import all my files from Dropbox and it works without a problem. Simple and easy to use.
Support?
I just downloaded and installed free version. I have Dropbox installed. Trying to add audiobook in Dropbox directory to app. Add file indicates it is possible. However, Dropbox does not show up as an option. No apparent way to access. Attempted to use “Contact” option. Entry screen pops up and I filled out. Last field is “Control question”. The control appears to be, no contact allowed. Regardless of the entry, it either responds with an error or “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.”
Doesn’t work well with new iOS and CarPlay
This is a really good application but ever since the new iOS, it’s very clunky working with Apple play. I hope it gets fixed soon.

Unusable
The updated ad features prevent me from going to my library to change books. This app used to work. Now it is unusable. I’m changing to an app that lets me access all my books.

Pretty nice reader till you get in the car
I have been using this app for a while and it worked nicely till last year when there was a bug that wouldn’t let me listen the books in the car for some reason. I think they fixed that bug later on and I have another bug that as son I enter the car and it is connected with the Bluetooth the sound automatically turns to zero and the player stops working again. When I turn off the Bluetooth on my phone I can continue listen to the book through phone speakers, but it is ridiculous to listen the book through the phone speakers when you have car speakers. My family loves listening to audio books, but I can’t use the app in the car when we travel because of this issue.
Outstanding App
I have no clue why this app doesn't have a 5 star rating. It's super simple and intuitive. It has a sleep timer which I use every night. And it makes uploading audiobooks from your laptop or desktop a breeze. This app is a winner!
It’s a scam
I’ve paid for pro features on this multiple times and it “forgets” it every now and then and you have to pay again. You also lose it when you change phones. I reached out to the developer once and he didn’t help. I’m rather shocked this is even allowed on the App Store.
Good app!
Good app and and it’s worth every penny. One feature I would love to have is to respect audio from other apps. I listen to books whilst I am running and when a fitness app gives some updates the book audio doesn’t get paused whereas podcast apps can pause and resume when the fitness update is finished.
12 hour limit not advertised in description
This is an easy to use app which I have enjoyed. Was very surprised to have the app stop working with the message “play back of 12 hour limit for free app reached” and required to pay to continue to use app. This information should be upfront in the description of the app! Luckily I have not left for a trip expecting to use the app with all my own audiobooks loaded into this app.
Some bugs, but still good
I don’t get any controls from the locked screen, and I cannot start/stop the audio with headphone controls. Need to enter the app to do any kind of control. Audio gets tiny when you speed it up. Might just be bugs on my end? if not, please fix it? I paid to remove adds and support you, so please make it work. Used this as an alternative to the Official apple app.

Won't restore purchase
The app's good enough, and I bought it. Now I've changed my phone, though, it's demanding further payment. Update: in the end I bought the pro version. It's a very good app. Haven't changed my phone since, so I haven't had any further bother with transfer.
This is Trialware. Basic function, ok. Overall, not great.
The good: Playback and playback controls on the phone work well. Wi-Fi import of audiobooks from your home network works well. Listening to short audio files works well. The bad: this is trialware and cuts off your access to longer length audiobooks. Controls from Bluetooth headsets don’t work well. Controls from Apple Watch barely work at all. Import from cloud source doesn’t work. Resume playback where you left off works most of the time but not all of the time. When you re-launch the app, playback resumes whether you wanted it to or not. Regardless of the settings. What they don’t tell you is that playback is limited to 12 hours. They don’t tell you this before you download and install the app. In some jurisdictions, this is illegal according to contract law. In any jurisdiction, this is just dishonest. The controls and the playback work reasonably well. It resumes where you left off most of the time but not all the time. There is an Apple Watch companion app, but it’s almost useless. Occasionally, it lets you pause or resume playback. But most of the time it just doesn’t. Most disappointing is it’s support for Bluetooth headphones. If your headphones have play pause volume up volume down controls, these don’t work very well. Pausing playback works most of the time. Volume up & down works some of the time. Resuming playback doesn’t work. Importing audiobooks from the cloud location just doesn’t work. It downloads and downloads and downloads and downloads and never ever gets the files. However, the Wi-Fi import works very well. What this app does well is done as well or better by VLC. What is it not well done in VLC is done as bad or worse in this app.
Pretty sluggish
This app is pretty slow on my iPhone 11 Pro and Apple Watch series 5.
