I like this game a lot but I hate how it always says it’s a draw when the king is in check mate. That’s pretty annoying but I still recommend this game. Plus you can’t castle.

AI too easy, no purchase to remove ads
Cool customization option, but the AI is very primitive and easy to cheese. It keeps using the same defense as black over and over again, without fail, in every single opening until like level 15 (out of 25) difficulty, doesn’t know how to trade material, and is so pathetically blunder-happy that even the HIGHEST DIFFICULTY LEVEL doesn’t know how to do a king-and-queen mate without blundering the latter and drawing. (I’ve tested it)

Cannot play as screen keeps freezing. CHRONIC problem!

1. If it is possible to do an en passant capture I have not been able to figure out how to do it. 2. If is possible to promote to a knight instead of to a queen I have not been able to figure out how to do it. 3. Just recently someone has fixed something which wasn’t broke, and now it is broke. There is a new very artistic way cool introductory screen replacing the old one. Now the new first screen will not go away and allow me to see the main board, menu, or anything else other than the very cool introductory screen. The chess game is now unavailable and cannot be played. Please return it to how it was, a very useful practice engine. Thanks!
Lost history
Now reverts to factory settings after very few matches. Also lost all game statistics removed when this happens.
Great Game, keeps crashing
This is by far my favourite chess app. Unfortunately it often freezes while trying to display a in app purchase. I need to turn my iPad off and on again once or twice a day

I couldn’t eliminate the bright red squares from telling me my optional moves. It’s a little annoying. There’s a too long commercial offering between every game or setup action. It’s a bit too much. I don’t play video games except chess, so being offered to get anything else is pushing me to look for another chess app

AI gives up
No matter what level you play the AI will essentially give up every few games. Meaning it will do a move that is just stupid. You can learn to a point with this but then it becomes a waste of time because it does something just plain stupid. It will play a good game and then just goes into dumb dumb mode. Just make the AI not do that and the game would be way better.

1st. You cannot switch and be black. You should be able to switch so you can learn the best starting moves. This is the main reason I gave it a three star rating. 2nd. Some times I feel it go to draw to soon. I could be wrong on that cause I’m a beginner. But over all it’s a great game

You have to watch an Ad after every game before a new match.
After every game, when you start a new match, an App Store video appears. There is an option in the upper right window to “skip video”, but when pressed it only pauses the video and offers a button to “Get” the game being advertised. It wont go away unless you get the game or swipe out of the chess app altogether and wait for a minute. I haven’t found any way to turn this off, and I’m guessing there is none, and that this is the price you pay for a really cool App that is totally “free”, and doesn’t track your personal info… If I’m wrong Devs, please drop me a line and I will be happy to change my rating from 1 star to 5. Thanks
Needs last game history
Newby here I’ll really like it but my chess expert friend says it needs to have a history of the last game so you can analyze your game. I couldn’t tell him how I won.
Some bad bugs during play; cannot report as develop site is down
Most of the time game is error free. Occasionally, very strange errors occur that wreck gameplay. Examples: 1) the "Blitzkrieg" - CPU opponent will move a large number of pieces at once, 2) "the sniper" - CPU opponent does not take my piece on its move, but game removes my piece anyhow. I'd give this game a higher rating if I could at least report the bugs I find.

If you love looong hostage ads that take their sweet time wasting your life and won't let you go until they decide it's time, this is your baby! If, on the other hand, you dislike having your time seized and wasted for you, you'll probably want to give this a miss.

Sometimes forced to move checked king despite able to eliminate attacker. Also had some valid moves blocked.

Most of the options are visible on the screen while playing. Would be nice to have without any text on the screen while playing.

Some glitches
I’ve found a few glitches after setting the levels higher (15). Somehow the AI has two moves to my one occasionally. Then I was checkmated when I clearly wasn’t. The game simply said ‘Check mate, Black wins’. Only happened once so far but it sounds like it’s happened to others. If this doesn’t happen too often I’ll stick with it, but otherwise its pointless playing.

Chess is actually very good and helps the brain I would give it another star but the game should restart it’s self instead of the person doing it and it should have a update because I had some glitches but still good game and I like how it’s a 3D game keep making 3D games.and the editing is pretty cool I never played a game we’re you could edit.And creators please respond to this rateing.
