Horrible
Got it for one film and it won’t even play it. Keeps saying there’s an error.
Casting Issues- otherwise amazing content!
When casting to a device (TV) the option to go into the casting options for the episode disappears. When you try to get back to the screen controlling forward, backwards, and CC options, the only was is to click play on the episode and the episode starts over from the beginning. You then need to go back to where you were in the episode. Never starts from where you were watching. Which can be a bummer if you were only trying to go back 10seconds. Even if you pause and come back later to watch the episode starts from the beginning. Also if you are trying to watch the next episode you have to manually go in and select the play option for the next episode to start instead of automatically loading the next one. It’s nothing major but something to look into making a little better! :)
Very difficult to unsubscribe
It’s very hard to unsubscribe, if you are on the app it tells you to use the Web, when you go to the web it redirects you to the app …
Solid programming, buggy app
We love the variety of stories. The app can be very buggy – we access it via Apple TV. More buggy on TV than with mobile app. Trying to watch the dry and it will not play. Also frustrating that you cannot have different user profiles, you cannot tell which episode episodes you have seen or not And it doesn’t tell you the date of episodes.
Sundance YES🌷
I have loved the shows on Sundance. The Restaurant was my favourite but lots of others too. The Australian and New Zealand films are great. At the moment I am watching The Bureau and wish I could remember of the many others I have enjoyed.
Absolutely the worst customer service
This is absolutely the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. There’s no way to call. The only way is email and it takes two or three days to hear from somebody. there was a glitch on their website so I could not cancel so I sent an email requesting cancellation several days before I was due to receive a charge. However, the fact they received my email and responded they did not cancel so I was charged. It took me two weeks to get the charged removed. They should not be allowed to charge you if there’s no way to contact customer service no chat no phone no texting only email. The app itself is awful.
It is not so bad as everybody said!
Honestly, I subscribed Sundance through Apple TV app and watched on iPad only and there were no any issues at all! However, probably this app might not compatible with other devices!
Won’t play anything
I have done all I could think to do to get this app to work. It will play the Sundance logo and then not play it will remain at 00:00 and it’s not paused. I’ve removed it completely from my phone, restarted it and reinstalled it on my phone and still the same this needs to be fixed.
Can’t compare to other apps
When Netflix, Amazon & other apps remember what episode you’re on let alone what series you’re watching, Sundance doesn’t offer either; then, it also doesn’t restart where episode is paused and turned off-starts completely over making a person fast forward though entire episode; also Durant let you skip past recaps and intro. When there a more than half a dozen episodes these are convenient and I believe important tools.

Good options - worth the free trial
Very cool shows, really enjoyed Discovery of Witches and a few other shows that I likely wouldn’t have thought to watch but did and really enjoyed it. I did find that the app crashed pretty frequently and I had to restart it over and over again - this pretty much happened every time I watched something. I found that some nights were worse than others. I hope they are able to add more shows and interesting content. Can’t wait for season 2 of Discovery of witches to be released!!
Bad tracking
The app doesn’t keep good track of what has been watched or where you left off in a series. Very annoying. Constantly guessing.
Doesn't remember settings
First episode: turn on subtitles Second episode: turn on subtitles again … Trust me, I won't regain my hearing after one episode. Please fix it. Thank you.
Worthless
This app does not work at all on iPhone 15.

I don’t have the ability to have closed captioning anymore..but it’s worked up until this point..?
Unstable App on iPad
As others have written, Sundance features great programming. I like the shows so much I’ve taken out a year’s subscription. However, the app itself leaves much to be desired. I’ve had to delete and reload the app at least once a week in order to get it to work. I note the app seems to have problems only on my iPad Pro; the app works reliably on my iPhone.
AngryDance Now
While some of their content is good, the sound is only 2 channel, making the experience difficult to get through. It requires you to turn the volume up and down because someone couldn’t be bothered to mix 5.1 surround sound like a civilized person in this day and edge. The worst thing, however, is the utter lack of navigation, resuming playback from your current position and being forced to start an episode over if you want to resume it. Neither does it track your current episode watched with Apple TV or allow you to resume playback across the cloud or even track what you are watching. Serious glitches here with Wisting navigation. This app was released like it was a gen 1 beta system for testing, but not production. It’s difficult to pay for something that makes you work so hard to enjoy watching it. Ultimately, it seems more appropriate is should be called AngryDance Now until they figure out how to get resume controls working properly and correct the 2 channel sound issues that tend to drown out the dialogue. 5.1 sound is reference audio now and should be standard. They went to all the trouble to make a great soundtrack for Black Snow, but didn’t release it in 5.1, so the base laden soundtrack just buries the audio. It just goes to show that while you can buy content and make it available, ensuring that streaming it at least meets the current standard all the other streaming providers have reached with playback, cloud, and sound is something altogether different and utterly neglected here.
No longer casting
We’ve enjoyed the high quality content of Sundance Now but, for the past three weeks, the app no longer casts to our TV although all of the other streaming services we use work fine. The tech support is not helpful, repeatedly suggesting the issue is with our setup despite having been told numerous times that this cannot be the case given that all other streaming services are casting without issue. Very frustrating.

Impossible to cancel
Signed up for Sundance to watch discovery of witches with my gf and wanted to cancel once we finished but they make it impossible to cancel. Can’t sign into the website even tho I know the password and when I try to reset my password by sending a reset link to my email I never get it. I had to contact support for them to manually reset my password which still doesn’t work when I try to sign in. It’s been over a year that I’ve been charged for this dumb subscription that I will now have to call my credit card company to get them to somehow stop the payments.
Content great - app is terrible
Content is great but the quality of the app is atrocious. The chromecast integration barely functions - if you can find the chromecast icon in the first place. It doesn’t remember where in the episode/program it’s playing if you stop it and heaven forbid you navigate away from the app and then comeback - all player controls vanish so you have to quit the app and reboot - only to have to attempt to scrub to where you were again because of the aforementioned issues with remembering progress. The poor quality of the app puts me off wanting to watch more.
Beware they unsuspectingly charge you
I have a credit card that I don’t use. Suddenly, I have a bill from there for Sundance for $59.99 plus a late fee because I don’t use this card and was unaware of a charge. I contact Sundance and and I am given the run around and find out I have been charged for 2 years!!! Be careful and don’t bother with this scam of a company.
Poor app.
Doesn’t remember where I was in an episode. No “next episode” features. When I started to play a series, it started on episode 3. Don’t bother with the free trial either...needed to sign up for 1 year, not month by month. Fix your app!
Update
I subscribed to this through Roku and the app doesn’t work very well. When I tried to add shows to my watch list I kept receiving error messages. I couldn’t find an alphabetical search and the rewind button is a joke. I have a subscription to AMC+ and didn’t realize that several of the titles overlap, so I wasted my money on this. Regardless, the Sundance Now standalone app on Roku needs to be fixed. I wanted to add that the problems are definitely with the Roku app, not Sundance Now. I just replaced my device with an Apple TV 4K and the app works great. I was able to add shows to my list with no problems.

Why can’t we download the movies just like Amazon Prime and Netflix?

Video (previously no consistent issues) now lags and skips and lacks audio… constant playback issues. (Just the app on installed device — I don’t have a tv to cast to) Why am I paying for this?
Bad experience
A lot of videos does not get loaded frequently, very difficult to contact customer care as they only respond with emails. There’s no unsubscribe option in the app, need to use Sundance website which did not recognize log in credentials, password reset did not work either , although I could log in to app. Horrible experience.
App doesn’t work on TV; iPhone or iPad
What is going on with this app? You can’t cast to tv. It takes hours to open then it’s slow. Won’t cast. Can’t cast from phone to tv. Can’t cast from iPad to tv. Please update. ALSO, add skip intro to Discovery of Witches. Add automatically for it to go to next episode. I DO NOT WANT TO RENEW MY MEMBERSHIP UNTIL THIS IS FIXED.
