Great App!!!
Great app!!! Don’t listen to the one and two star reviews. The app works great and it’s easy to book flights. The only bug I would say there is is that there’s a problem when I click the “Get Flights” button. It brings me to the r loading screen and just freezes. But on a scale of one to ten for how often that happens it’s like a 4. And it doesn’t happen in my laptop. My problem might just be my phone.
Far behind competitors APP experience
Can’t check in with a foreign passport scan and you have to go to the airport to have someone do it for you. I’ve used AC and UA APP, neither had problem check me in online.

This app is full of bugs on iPhone
Every time I try to select a date and then a flight the app has to reload. It is not an efficient use of time nor a good user experience.

Update - trips screen issue
The latest update seems to have impacted the trips screen - it’s completely grey/blank screen. Have tried logging out, refreshing, reinstalling … still grey. Loved the app before this!
Soo frustrating and slow
This has to be the, if not one of the worst airline apps going. Get your act together Westjet! Your phone will go to sleep before the booking will finish. There seems to be no way to actually add or use seat selection vouchers without calling the help number. And there are so many add ons and useless upsell options that it is hard to find all the essential info. It will quite often push the actual confirm button partially off the screen. WestJet needs to put more focus in the plane and in the app on the customer and less on the upsell.
Seat Map
It would be useful to have a seat map before booking like every other airline has.

After the app was updated to 8.5.1 version , it works very good! I’d like to edit my previous review (The title was 8.5 version) but can’t edit it. Good job! WestJet!
Site non fonctionnel
Très déçue de WestJet. Leur site ne fonctionnait pas correctement lors de ma réservation et je n’ai pas été clairement informée que mon premier bagage était déjà inclus. J’ai donc payé 220 $ pour une deuxième valise dont je n’ai pas besoin et que je n’utiliserai pas. Malgré ma demande faite avant le voyage, le site indique clairement que dans mes conditions je peux me faire rembourser, mais on me refuse wtf

Can’t sign in, no code sent to email
This app is fine when it works I guess but for a week now I can’t sign into my WestJet account on my new phone. It asks when signing in to type in a code sent to my email, but the code never arrives. Today is 21 Jul 2026 and this has been happening to me since 14 Jul 2026. I hope WestJet can fix this so I can sign into my account to collect points.
Not the best
I was hoping for free movies on my flight but no it also wasn’t loading my boarding pass but I had no problem booking a flight so 3 stars

Worst airline ever
They canceled my flight and split my family up because we didn’t get premium but we had four tickets terrible trip terrible service do not fly with them

Deceiving
Be careful using this app when checking in for a flight because it will suggest paying for things that you have already bought or have for free. For example, I have the WestJet rewards card, but it asks me to pay for my first check bag when checking in. It also prompts me to buy a seat even when I have already paid for an upgraded one. Come on Westjet, you can treat your customers better
Great for me in Feb 2026
App is apparently updated as of February 2026 and I haven’t had any problems whatsoever on the ground or in the air. Rewards members get free wi-fi and it’s fast enough to stream Netflix. I just nerded out and stared at the map screens the whole time as it’s quite entertaining along with the flight info screens. It’s also nice to stream podcasts and text with my kids on the ground to kill some time while flying. Wife also downloaded it at the airport and had the same experience. I say give it a chance!
Support for passport scan is awful
It’s been many years and I still couldn’t scan my passport before check-in
Constant sign in issues
New update is brutal. I had to sign in 6 times throughout trying to find flights. Also it would be good to be able to apply the companion voucher in app.
Could only check-in using app
Only recommending this because the website was worse. Tried checking in online several ways—guest, logged in—still told to see an agent. Downloaded the app while waiting in the airport line and it finally worked.
Apps hours are off.
Most likely due to the removal of day light saving hours no longer being observed. But trips in app are off by 1 hour. No option in app to adjust timezone.
Changed my flight - no compensation
WestJet changed my direct flight to one with a layover. They can’t switch it to another direct flight. Can’t offer any compensation, not even free carry ons.

I saw negative reviews for this app and disagree - the app worked fine for me - check-in, bag check and paying for the bag all worked flawlessly - I recommend this app

Can’t book using App
I continually run into an issue where I can book a flight when trying to use a companion voucher. I have to call the get dinged for $25. WestJet has no answers.
Easy to use
The main thing I wanted to do was to track my booked flights and make adjustments. It did everything I needed.
Two factor authentication sucks
Cant even log in to my acc because of the stupid authentication. I dont even receive emails for the code. Like please take it off. Im tryna buy a ticket here
Where’s the old flight map?
I always get a window seat so I can admire our amazing earth while learning the names of interesting features we’re flying over. Previous map with the flight path from different windows/cockpit was really interesting. Current map has almost no info. What’s the point? I’ll just use Google maps instead. Also, it would be a big time-saver to be able to order inflight food/snacks/booze through the app instead of having to try to make yourself heard over engine noise. It’s just too much of a hassle to bother with.
