I don’t recommend this game…
I’ve been playing this game for at least 7 years now, and the app and developer response to problems has gotten progressively worse. In 2019 I paid $32 to get lifetime access to all added/updated packs. Starting in 2023, always at the beginning of the month, the game wouldn’t open or if it did the puzzles would already be completed. In this last year for the last 6months the game crashes every time I go to open it. This last month they been sending updates through Testflight and the game still crashes. What good did it do to pay $32 for lifetime access when I can’t even open the game? And at this stage I can’t get my money back from Apple. The concept is a good one, but it appears that the coders at Borderleap can’t figure out how to fix this game.
Love it, except for one thing
This is a great game and very cleverly crafted. The massive number of puzzles available for purchase ensures many, many hours of enjoyment. I only have one beef. I wish there was some way to hide the completed puzzle sets so you don’t have to scroll up/down so much. That change would make it a five.
Constant crashing directly after purchasing upgraded package
I’ve really liked this game for a couple of years, and I didn’t mind downloading the newer version with ads. I DO mind downloading the version with ads, paying $24 to support this game with no ads and unlimited access, and it’s crashing in all game areas (daily puzzles, etc). Fix asap or refund. Not cool.
They remove puzzles even after you paid for them
This actually is a great puzzle game. However they appear to remove old puzzles without notice even after paying for the full game. I had access to the daily puzzles from years ago and now 8 seemed to have lost them. Poor form to remove features without notice.
Alpha omega
It’s been over a month since my app has G.been crashing. I contacted the developer and they still can’t fix it. They’re not giving me my money back. They’re blaming the iOS update and want me to install some app that I’m sure it’s not safe to fix the problem. this is one of multiple problems that the app had problems.
Daily Puzzle
The game freezes when I try to play the daily puzzle, since yesterday. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, and it is still not working. I went ahead and restored purchases since it was saying I needed to, and it has deleted all my past progress from 2018!
Fun game! Except one thing…
This game is a lot of fun and pretty challenging! No ads which is a plus, but you only get one pack and a daily puzzle. More packs are $.99, which is pretty reasonable for all the work I’m sure goes into making the puzzles. My main gripe with this game is the fact that you can only undo once before having to reset your entire board. It makes it highly frustrating for someone with fat fingers and dyslexia. I’ve had to restart levels over a dozen times because I just keep messing up words I’ve already solved. The puzzles thing is fine, devs have to get paid somehow, but gosh dang the undo thing made me frustrated enough to write a review. Gotta be said again, I really enjoy this game and it’s a great brain teaser!
Can’t upgrade
I’ve been using this app for a couple of days and there are so many ads, it’s driving me nuts. I want to purchase the ad free version, but the app won’t work and I am not able to make a purchase. Very frustrating. You would think a company would want to give customers an opportunity to spend money, but I guess not. It’s so annoying to watch all the ads, I will probably stop using this game.
Works once, then dies
I’m able to install and run the app. I can play through 50 levels fairly quickly. Then I put my phone down to go do something else. When I come back and launch the app, I get the beige background and some music, but that’s it. The game never shows up. I’ve restarted my phone. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app. No idea why I can only run it once.
Exceptional service
I like the challenge of this game and paid for the expansion packs. It’s a great value. These days, I mostly just play the daily challenge puzzle. The December daily puzzles weren’t loading, so I emailed the company to let them know. An actual real person emailed me THE SAME DAY and a new release to fix that bug was released. I dare you to find another game developer who is that responsive!! 10/10
Not working
I bought the year’s worth but now it’s not working. I tried reloading it, but it took me back to the beginning and is trying to teach me how to play.
Love to play
Have been playing for years and really enjoy. Recently had a problem and found the ability to get to app support didn’t work. Might be an Apple AppStore issue but anyway, finally got support by going direct to website and I’m fixed and playing again.
Crashes
I love this game. But lately (about a week) it’s been crashing every time I open it.
It’s good but perhaps ‘Too American’ for UK users
It’s good and challenging and I was happy to pay for the full version, I like the idea and generally how it works but only ONE ‘undo’ before you have to start the whole level again means that making a move you think is right isn’t an option unless you’re prepared to start again. And, as a UK user I found that there is a large emphasis on US sports (including terminology and player names), US places (and not just major cities) and US politics. With only one undo per level before you have to start again it means that guessing or having a go at a subject you’re not familiar with (surgical procedures was another one) isn’t really an option, you either have to stop that series or use hints to do all of that level in the hope that the next is something you stand a chance of answering, very tedious. I’d like a “skip this level option”
App freezing again
I love this game! Play it every day. Unfortunately the last few days I haven’t been able to get it to open. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing seems to work.
Unusable since beginning of 2025
This games has been unusable since the beginning of the year. After using the game and returning the games does not load. I have re downloaded the app 5 Times in pas 6 weeks and it is not fixed.

Love the game Hate the bugs
Enjoy the game enough that I’ve tried many times to purchase the unlimited pack—it’s advertised on my iPad but nothing happens when I click the option. The app lets me buy individual packs for .99, but not the full plan. So I thought I’d download it onto my phone to see if it’d work there. It wouldn’t sync, so I deleted it and reloaded it, but now it’s really problematic and won’t even load enough to open.
Long Time Alpha Omega Fan
I got Alpha Omega with my first iPhone, and enjoyed playing it while commuting to work. Two iPhones later I keep coming back to play it when I want to relax, and enjoy solving a couple of puzzles!

Love it but Some issues need to be fixed
Really like this cross words game, while some tiny problems need to be solved. 1. It cannot synchronize through different device if you log in different iCloud accounts and SUBSCRIPTIONS account. For instance, my iCloud account is in Mainland China, but my subscription is in US. Once I click sync, it just freezes and never comes back. I have to delete and re-download it so that it can open again. 2. I cannot find it in the Mainland China AppStore, so I cannot plan on my iPad and other devices. I don’t understand. Other than these, a great game.👏👏

Really liked it, til the ads
I read about this app in a list of ad free games. I am so fed up with long ads across multiple screens when trying to play games, so this seemed like a dream. I made it through over 20 levels til I saw an ad—and if I could play that long before being served another, that’d be ok. But then there were ads every other level. I’m so sad. I’d be glad to pay a few bucks to avoid ads, support the really cool developers behind this interesting game. Ads might make this unplayable for me, unfortunately.
Game keeps crashing

serious recurring issue
so for the most part the app is great. seems to be getting slower and slower, or maybe that's just my iPad showing its age. but the app does have one serious, recurring issue: every month, it needs an update to allow users to play the new month's daily puzzles. WHY??? why is it this cannot have a permanent fix? if the daily puzzles had a major change in format or function i could understand needing the occasional update, but i've had this happen multiple times. and until the app is updated to support the new month's puzzles, trying to access the daily puzzles causes the app to lock up. this is frustrating, to say the least. otherwise the app is quite stable, and receives content update fairly regularly. i've been playing it for years and enjoy it. i hope the May update is forthcoming and will fix this unhappy issue once and for all (though i decline to hold my breath in anticipation).
Challenging but not impossible
My biggest complaint is the intrusive ads. Last night I had an ad after every puzzle for 5 in a row. Not complaining about ads for a free app but after every puzzle is a bit obnoxious and unacceptable
Poor spelling
The idea is fun and the puzzles can be challenging but it is kind of ruined by misspelled words on quite a few of the puzzles. I mean, it’s not like you can’t Google how to spell a word. Also, words are repeated sometimes on the same puzzle.

I just found you, and while I have a feeling it’s a great app, there’s little to no tutorial. Or, perhaps, I missed it! Help? Tried to address this through support, but that was just another ad for the game.
Glad it's back
Really glad they fixed the white issue. The new daily puzzles are great. Just wish more of the puzzles were easy-moderate (as most of them, especially the new ones are moderate-hard).
Not bad
I love the game so much I bought another pack so I could still play, but now that i bought another pack to play it won’t let me watch ads for hints anymore; I have to buy them?
Great game - too many ads
Honestly, I love the game. It’s very stimulating to the brain, etc. etc. But the amount of ads is very annoying. I get one after every level, and I tend to fly though the levels, so I get an ad every few minutes. I have more ads than I do game time at this point. I may as well just download those games being pushed instead of this one at that point, since I see the ad for the same few games more than I see actual gameplay for this.
Unique and fascinating game
I love this game! I have been playing for years now, and it is just very relaxing and fun. It’s great how the developers have been working on the game the whole time. The music is very relaxing, and the themes are interesting. I hope the developers read this; I have a request for a feature where you can hide completed levels. At this point, I have a whole lot of completed levels to scroll past to get the new levels or ones I just haven’t completed yet, and I think the interface would be improved with an option to hide completed levels. That said, I highly recommend this game. It’s one of my favorites, one I try to get into each day.

Really enjoyed playing but haven't been able to play since the most recent iOS update as it keeps crashing. Tried contacting developer but never received a response. Very frustrating
Fun Game- are they still supporting it?
I really enjoy this game. Very challenging and a good opportunity to learn about topics you haven’t explored before. My only concern is that it hasn’t been updated in three years, and there’s a very frustrating bug on the iOS version where if you change the screen orientation, the screen gets all messed up and you have to close and reopen the app to fix it. So you have to be careful not to turn your phone to the side. I want to buy the pack with all the levels, but I’m hesitant to do so if the app is no longer being supported and updated, since it will eventually just stop working after enough iOS updates.
Ads and money galore
This would be such a good game if it weren’t for the constant ads. I can understand free games do need ads and I am fine with this, but not ads after every level and any time you click something. The prices are extremely high to unlock extra levels. I feel that the game could have done with letting players unlock new levels through constant play and ways to “earn” hints such as a daily bonus or unlocking achievements, etc. As the only free way to get hints is through a 30 second ad for three hints, which don’t get you very far as the levels get harder. Also, please review the game being very American spelling/phrase centric. Even neutral terms would be better. The developers need to listen to reviewers on these points otherwise they will lose their players. I really do like this game but the negatives are making me want to just delete the app before I even finish the free levels. If the developers changed the game to be more user friendly I’d definitely keep it.

Pleasant puzzler but too many microtransactions
I love the ambient music and the clever but not so much it makes you feel stupid puzzles. However... the price even for a few themes is stupid high and the ads break the ambience.
Too many ads, even for a free game
As some have already mentioned, there are way too many ads. For my phone I get one ad after almost every level, or if I restart the level. I fully appreciate that this is a free game and the developers need to earn money somehow, but I feel that the ad frequency is still excessive. After a while players might get so annoyed of it and stop playing altogether.

Addicting!
Great game! I’m addicted! I tested out the free version to see if I’d like it. I LOVED it and am looking forward to new packs. The sizing is a little buggy on my iPhone XR. When I move on to the next game sometimes the sizing is HUGE and it “fights back” when I try to resize. Sometimes it takes three or four attempts to size it where I want it. A small annoyance for a game I’m addicted to. Caught a few misspellings! Again, no biggie, can’t even remember what they were. I can’t comment on all the bells and whistles because I was too busy playing. The big disappointment for me is that I can’t replay the packs.
