Please bring back the big colored bars!!
Writing this review as someone who has loved Suru for years and who still continues to believe in the app. This really is a fantastic list-making app. I have subscribed in the past and just bought the lifetime pro membership (Black Friday deal, $20). There are two things I really miss about this app that were changed in recent updates: (1) the full-length colored bars, and (2) the ability to choose rounded or squared edges. In the new updates, each item on the list just has a tiny colored tab, and we cannot choose rounded or squared edges. I have no idea why Suru would get rid of two of its signature features — but as a Lifetime Pro Suru Member, I’m really really really hoping that these will come back one day. People love Suru for how beautiful its interface is and how easily customizable it is. Not sure why they’d ruin something that was so perfect :”( Nonetheless, still love Suru. Just want the beautiful full-length colored bars back! And the option to choose rounded or square.

Love this app. I use it daily. Color palettes and sharing feature are awesome. One thing I’d love to see is a thicker strike through line. It’s so thin it’s barely visible against the type. Thanks!

This APP is amazing. Only ONE issue.
I absolutely LOVE this app. But an issue I’ve been having is that when you get into the “be thorough section”, the app doesn’t allow you to scroll freely through whatever you write in there. It also doesn’t let you easily go back and edit what you've written. This is the ONLY issue with this app. Otherwise, it’s FLAWLESS and everything I’ve been looking for to organize my business.
Very slow launch
Takes 3-4 seconds to launch which is way too long when trying to quickly add an entry. Tried rebooting my phone to speed things up but the app actually froze after and took multiple attempts to launch again. The launch speed is unfortunately a deal breaker even tho I really love the interface. Used on iPhone 13 pro max ios 16.0.2
Help!?
I enjoy this app and the features it has. I paid for the subscription, and went to make a new list along with using the customization. Whenever I do it tells me to “upgrade” when I click on it- it says I’m already subscribed. I have restarted my phone- also deleted the app off my phone & redownloaded it. Nothing has worked so I’m pretty disappointed. I have already reached out to the customer service- have not heard anything back. Will update when/if things get resolved.
Great app!
This app is great - simple, yet with enough functionality to be useful. I have tried numerous other apps and they were all blah. You can make numerous lists, and put numerous tasks within each list, and subtasks under each task. Totally easy to move an item from one list to another, also. 100% recommend
Be careful
I obtained a lifetime subscription to this app. Then I had to delete it. When I went back in after resetting the password they wanted me to purchase again. No way deleting it as I am not going to get the subscription more than once. Update -07/14/24 App developers got with me and said they planned to fix problem. This was shortly after first revie. They promised to fix problem. They never did.
Pretty good
clean ui functional without in app purchase decent functionality -no date/time or reminder functionality -cross platform sync only w/ subscription -only 1 layer of depth for nested items (though you can circumvent this by adding detail to an item) -designed as a mobile app, slightly clunky on OSX

Great!… Until Today.
I have always loved this app and have been using it for years, but today I have been locked out from all my lists unless I add an email and password to my “account”. I don’t want yet another app with an access prompt! Especially one that I have been comfortable with for years. Please fix!
Great App
This app looks very nice and has many features.
I was a fan…But now, not so much…
My favorite part of the app was the colored bars. In fact, I actually paid for pro subscription just so I could get the other color schemes. Now all you get is a little sliver of color?? Why would you do that? There’s also no option to change the shape anymore. You took out the choice of Square corners or rounded…. And you could also choose to have full colored bar or just the outline…… It was really cool, and really the only reason I used it. Because, other than that…it’s pretty light on features…. So I’m good with this, will be deleting and canceling subscription….
Colored Bars
Why are they gone? Please give us the option to use the old style of the colorful UI, they really gave the app a flair that drew me to it in the first place.

I just subscribed to suru, just to find out that everything I do is sent to their servers. Would be nice to be able to select this on my own, preferably BEFORE everything gets uploaded. sad. Anyways, if this doesn't matter to you, the app is great!
Beautiful, but no landscape orientation
This app looked like it had pretty much everything I was looking for--until I downloaded it and discovered it was portrait orientation only. That is simply unworkable for an app I would be using repeatedly throughout the day. I work on a 12.9" iPad Pro with a keyboardcase. That setup only works well in landscape for several reasons. Portrait is simply an unwieldy nuisance. If landscape is offered in a future update, I will reconsider this app, because otherwise it looks closer to what I wanted than anything else I've tried.
Great for Studying
This app is so underrated.
iCloud backup was extremely outdated and lost several lists
The app is great, but do not get pro or rely on its backup. My son deleted the app, and once I reinstalled I had lost all my lists except one which looks to not have been updated since February. I rely on this app for a lot of things, and subscribed to pro to ensure they were backed up, and that failed. I did reach out to support but have yet to receive a response
What the heck?
This just turned from the prettiest app ever to super basic?? Why did you just change all of the colored bars? Thats the whole point of the app to visually organize your lists. I bought this app because I use it daily at my job. Now it doesnt really serve me any purpose because it just looks like a regular list with colored dots on the sides. Can you please bring back the full colored bars?Who the heck decided that was a good idea?

Don’t use anymore
I used to really like this app until you changed it, and took the full color bars away, and replaced with the small color tab. The best part of the app were the color lines. So now I don’t even use it. Disappointed that you changed a perfectly good app.
User Friendly
Very easy to navigate and user friendly. I use it everyday and I'm so glad I stumbled onto this app !
I paid for Suru in the past and was happy now it won’t save my notes when I exit the app.
I liked Suru, and paid for it years ago, however I didn’t subscribe when it became monthly payments.Then it limited how many notes I can have without subscribing, which I figured I can work with the years of notes I have and alter them.I just did a long list of important info and after I closed the app it didn’t save.I won’t pay a monthly fee for a product that let me down.Once I export my current note I am deleting suru forever.It’s disappointing because I really like the structure, but it let me down when I needed it.
Been subscribed for years,
Very clean, simple app. It’s very visually appealing too, the color themes are great. But I wish they would bring back organizing the lists yourself and just not limit it to alphabetical and most recent.
Its Neat, But
There doesn't seem to be much support, and hotkeys don't work.
More haptics = less frustration
I really like what this app is aiming for, but when a majority of the interaction is duration/distance-based swiping, there NEEDS to be haptic feedback tapping me when I hover over each action. I need to feel the detail this interface is expecting me to approach it with, otherwise I’m playing a trombone. The sound design is great (something sorely lacking from a lot of apps) This is really promising, but has a ways to go before I’d consider relying on it as a daily tool. Integration with Reminders would also be dearly appreciated. I love the visual style.

Unable to sync across devices
Been working on syncing from iphone to mac for 3 hours today and an hour yesterday. I emailed the support team after following directions on the mac instructions provided and no one has gotten back to me. This is a complete waste of time.
This is a great app.... But there can be small improvements
I’ve been looking for an app like this for a long time. This app is clean, organized and functions great! SUGGESTIONS FOR DEVELOPER: 😋 -It would be nice to order the lists in other ways rather than alphabetical and most recently edited. I’m sure others would like to be able to drag and drop list items just as you can with the topics to personalize their view. For me personally I am using the list for each day of the week, so it gets messy when the lists aren’t in order from Monday-Sunday. -It would also be nice to be able to choose a solid / outline design for different topics that are within the same list. The settings now prohibit one “style”. (I love the design by the way). This would really make a difference! I’m very glad I found this app!
No alarms, reminders or developer response
Update: Looking forward to reminders and alarms coming to desktop version and hope they will sync across devices. If so, I'll reconsider a subscription. The description claims you can set reminders and alarms but there is no way to do this. Contacted the devleoper but no response. The app has promise but not if the developer isn't committed to it.
Cute but no sale
This is a vaguely clear-like app. The subscription cost is small enough to be plausible. However, there’s not enough functionality to justify using it. Share sheets? No. How do you get stuff in? Cut & paste. Out? Cut & paste or pdf. Priorities? Sure, pick a color. More than two levels of entries? No. Sorting? No. Multiple views? No. It’s just colored lists. Nice and simple. For me it would have to either replace the organizational tools I’m using now or work with them, and it doesn’t.
So close to perfect
This app has been helpful for organizing my notes and thoughts. I love the look and flow of it! A couple additions that would make this perfect; To be able to has a sub note to a sub topic (without having to go into the notes area). But to still have the option of the notes area for the sub topic and added sub note tab... maybe an added button when you pull left or right on the box could give the option for the extra note area? ie. Sometimes I need three tiers vs. the two supplied... having the extra sub note on the list (in front/visual ) vs. going into the notes area. But thanks for coming so close. It is helpful!
No notifications
Just downloaded day before to try but notifications aren’t working at all so cannot use
Great application! Need a few things.....
It would be great to be able to copy and paste pictures and such into the detail information. Also would be nice if we could format it as code (xml translation)??? Would also like some foldering structures and tagging methodology included. ============= Now that I have been working on it for a while, a way to archive stuff that is no longer valid but want to keep around and out of sight. I would also like an auto dater to keep track of when I entered something.
Frustrated
So I’m really frustrated and it won’t let me contact you from the “contact us” tab. I tried to subscribe to the yearly with a free 2 week trial. It said that I was set up but in the app I was not shown as the paid version. Got an email from you stating that you did not show me as signed up. So i went into iTunes to cancel. Signed up again today but it shows that I will be charged on feb 18th when my “current subscription expires”. I never got the free trial. I’m sure I’ll like it, but why spend the money on a yearly subscription if I’m already having issues?
Love Suru!!
It's easy to use & makes it easy to stay organized. I just wish it would sync between my iPhone & iPad lists so that I don't need to type it in twice. Was my last review. I’m glad we got the option to sync between the iPad & iPhone even though it is a paid option. However, since I pay for the option, as soon as there is an iOS update, I don’t want to wait for SURU to catch up. Now I have lists that I need with no access to them because you’re not updated. If you want me to wait for you to catch up to iOS technology, make the sync option free. Otherwise, you need to give me what I’m paying for, immediately or else you’re losing a customer.
PERFECT LIST ORGANIZATION
Developer - PLEASE: Do not attempt to improve this app with any unnecessary "bells & whistles" in future updates. This app is beautifully designed and functions flawlessly. Too many times app designers have something perfect and then "improve" it - and what they do is actually destroy what the customer loves. I have purchased the upgrade - I have never used an organizational app pleasing to the eye and so well designed and I have purchased many. I highly recommend this app - and I rarely leave reviews.
A Colorful but Difficult interface.
I love the colors, I don't love the interface. Let us improve it because it has the potential to be great. More options for Bold, tabs, list like options. I love it otherwise. Use it, buy it and dig it.
I want to give this five stars, however...
This app is gorgeous and seamlessly brilliant in it’s design. It quickly became my go-to for organizing thoughts! For those with attention-deficit disorders (who might also have a ton of different projects rotating all at once) this app is the bees freaking knees. I love the simplicity of it, but I want to see this app evolve into a one-stop productivity machine! It’s just missing a couple of things that would otherwise make it PERFECT. It would be nice if it had a widget to easily view and cross off tasks. Also, a built in calendar or compatibility with iCal, would be most useful. Especially because this app works on MacBook as well; having everything in one place, without having to revert to other apps, would be ideal. Other than that, it’s a great app! If new features are never added, I’ll still use it. However, I’m sure I’m not the only one longing for these additions. 😉

I liked it before the limitations and pressure to pay
I’ve used this app for years, including subscribing to the premium features at times. However, with this last update, you are limited to a very small number of lists unless you pay for premium features. The app is visually appealing and I’m a visual person. It’s also simple to understand and use. But it doesn’t offer much else and doesn’t justify the cost, IMO. And it will not be usual when for most users unless they pay, at this point. (I think there is a limit of four or so lists.) I would be more willing to pay a one-time fee than a monthly or yearly fee. I also read the developers response to a recent complaint and found it very unfriendly and unprofessional. It was sarcastic and while the developer(s) have surely put work into the development of the app, not having understanding or compassion for why a user may be understandably upset at recent changes and responding so unprofessionally (and again, this was just a response I read,) makes me less inclined to support the app as I don’t feel valued as a customer. There are a lot of todo list apps, many with tons more free features and there is nothing so special about this one. I would be happy to update this review if the app changes for the better (ideally with advance notice given to users). Until then; I’ve deleted it.
Best PM and get your life together app
I've tried them all, this has the sleekest interface. It's really easy to create a project and break it down to individual tasks, add extensive notes or media. I use it as a checklist and life project managment tool.
Terrible update (can’t use now)
I really liked Suru, and subscribed to Pro back in November. There have been a few glitches, but they were always resolved fairly quickly. This new update is terrible though, and the developer responded to my feedback with basically “we think it’s great and intuitive and easier! Try putting numbers in front of every task so that you can keep them in the order you want”. Previously, I was able to order tasks simply by moving them around with my finger. So, this update is definitely not intuitive, nor easier, and I actually can’t use the app the way I need to now. Don’t waste your money on Pro.
I love this app!!!!!! But....
This app does just about everything I want it to... quick task entry, subtask lists, a beautiful interface, reminders, etc. But for me this app would be perfect if I could drag sub-tasks out of their parent task to add them to the main task list. This would allow me to hide upcoming tasks that I don’t want to see yet and move them out when I’m ready to work on them. And while we’re on the drag and drop option, it would also be nice to be able to do the opposite... drag one task into another so that it becomes a subtask of that task. Other than these niceties, this app really is amazing! Makes it so simple to get things out of your head and into a list where you can plan things out and take meaningful steps to get stuff done!!
An App with potential
I like the design but there a few things to go for: ❗️Widget for Notification Center (with 2 Category's: due today and "custom list", for example "shopping list" which shows only the tasks from my shopping list) ❗️More options to schedule tasks (daily, weekly, monthly, every 3rd of a month, and so on) ❗️Select multiple tasks to set due dates and other options for more than one task at the same time
Useful, but not perfect
I love this app, as I can manage many ideas in a sleek app. However I have found a bug which makes a tab think that I have not written anything, when the tab is actually filled with information. Spamming the keyboard gets rid of the issue, but only temporarily as the bug comes back if the tab is exited. Please fix this.
