300 hoops to jump through to “join” events
I have fought with this for nearly 40 minutes now, and I cannot get access to the event I have a ticket for; the app won’t let me "join" the event because I never received an invitation code; I cannot edit my registration info to link to a different email even though I signed up less than an hour ago; the desktop version doesn’t work because it insists you use the app; and every time I refresh the page, I’m required to input YET ANOTHER 2FA code. I consider myself a highly tech-savvy person, and every time a conference/convention wants to use this app, I end up wanting to throw my phone out the window. It gets worse every year.

The app seems to do a good job
Somewhat annoying
Whova has all the important information but there’s just a ton of extraneous, social media, networking, etc. which can be annoying when it bombard you with messages. Also, it lacks the capability to check off individual talks on your agenda, making it hard to go from session to session.

I find the app organization confusing and notifications excessive and not very relevant or helpful.

Doesn’t work with Nord VPN. Have to disable VPN to do anything in the app, then it works fine. Sooo… an app that is designed to be used in public places/large crowds wants you to disable the service that protects your data and network traffic in public places/large crowds?

What an awesome experience. I enjoyed what the conference had to offer to us. The courses, the networking, the amazing people and venders that all came out for us. I definitely am taking a lot back to my center. Kris Inman hands down was the man of the hour for me. As awesome as the conference was there were some things to improve upon. The first being hydration. There was nowhere to get anything cold to drink while we were there and man was it hot! Some of us were walking a good distance from our hotel everyday up and down steps and we could have really used coolers with bottled cold water. The lunches were not really great, granted I know nothing about putting on a conference but I do know how much we all paid to be there and that is not what we were expecting for lunch. I feel bad saying anything negative because the experience and what I took away from the conference was so great it seems silly to harp on some dry sandwiches but we definitely needed cold water. I would like to thank everyone who put their hearts and time into this, it was truly amazing.
Annoying
This app has lots of annoying features that apparently cannot be removed by conference organisers like stupid break the ice questions, recommdinh other irrelevant events, irrelevant notifications, etc. Also autoplay of videos is a problem and photos cannot be viewed in horizontal mode on iphones.
UI needs work
New user. Things should be more intuitive. On the plus side, it has some cool features for networking. I know nobody at this conference and I am making contacts already. I might give it a better review later.

Can’t network with people properly
Has a 100 message daily limit. I’m chatting with a bunch of folks and all of sudden I can send messages anymore.

Tons of marketing junk from Whova
Works well enough for a conference app. Not sure why I’m getting marketing messages from the app provider itself. I’m here for a conference, not to buy a conference app.
Takes some getting used to
I had some confusing experiences at the start of my Whova journey. Not everyone gets the same amount of admin time, nor the same internet strength, and when I I get sent back and forth from a website to an app, I get frustrated. When I had the concentrated time to put in, I started to enjoy the app, but the initial experience of trying to register for an event through an app and learn the app at the same time was anxiety inducing.

I thought the app was easy to use. All needed information was at my fingertips. It made navigating the SHRM conference and the added events so easy! Highly recommend it for your event!
Annoyed by notification spam
Recently I voted on a poll about “what will you be wearing on the event”. My goodness me, this post got auto-followed on my account and every single time somebody else voted I kept getting notifications. I went multiple times in the post and tried a couple of things without any luck. - clicked unfollow from the poll (still spams) - restarted app - clicked unfollow and then follow and left it for 6+hours, then unfollow, (still spams at 3 am in the morning) Now I have stopped all notifications!

Useless
I prefer a printed ticket and agenda, maybe as a .pdf. But definitely not such an application with features I do not use at all and which requires a profile.
Conftool and Whova compatibility
Whova is a great app but not very compatible with Conftool so it is very difficult to keep it syschronize just before and during the conference.
Clunky
Feels a bit clunky to use. But so many apps are. Workshops look available while organisers say they are full. Can add them to own agenda anyway.
Freezes every 15 to 75 minutes. Needs a restart
During streaming the image freezes.

Not available on M1 Macs
Why would you not allow this? This is a terrible practice. iOS support on M1 macs is currently a joke because most developers opt out.

The agenda for my event was not downloaded in the app. It was a two day event And I only could view the first presentation of the first day. Not satisfied!

I’ve been using the app for Machine Learning conferences. It’s a good app to mark down slots I’m interested in and check up my schedule.
Good with glitches
Great to have everything organised, uploaded, scheduled that part works. My profile including work history and photo is of someone completely different, I have no idea how this happened or how to change it, I emailed & no response. Had to turn off notifications as I was swamped with emails.

Whova as virtual agenda app for this year’s conference: This app was literally like having the agenda at your fingertips- the ability to access the speakers & workshop details was a plus in addition to contacting any other attendees or presenters/organizations w/questions prior to the conference dates! Whova app was tangibly navigational & visually appealing! The ability to go in & select your workshops - the app created your personal agenda, made it an enjoyable process to select and/or change workshops sans being concerned about adversely impacting the presenters or coordinators- as the # of attendees was shown on each workshop. I don’t know what the overhead costs were, but as an attendee- the overall presentation of the Whova app was a really efficient way of registering & staying connected pre and post conference! I hope that the cost of the app itself was cost effective! Thank you for providing such an excellent resource to us as attendees! I hope this app served as a beneficial platform for the speakers & presenters as well! Thank you to all the intentional work that went into creating this experience! 🥳
Slow, Too Complicate for what it's good for and full of navigation issues ...
It's really unfinished product that offers tons of useless features and make the most important things overly complicated (I.e. checking the conference schedule). As for the navigation issues: try to cancel a "say hi" dialog box ... to name just one thing
