What people like
- Completely free with no ads
- Fun to play with family
- Great for learning geography daily
What they complain about
- Taps register when you just scroll
- App freezes or crashes often
- Snarky comments can feel mean
Great game!!!
One of my favorite games currently. It’s a nice challenge every day. Definitely recommend
Maps not optimized for mobile
It is a fun game at times, but certain things like the flag daily game have a tremendous amount of repeats. In addition, it is nearly impossible to find and locate certain island nations on mobile. Needs a rework
Connie
The tapping is way too sensitive!!! It messes me up every time!!😤
Glitchy
Love the game but the app works maybe every other day.
Hard
Pretty hard for a kid
Fantastic and Really Free (NO ADS)
Picked this up as a little motivation to learn some geography and it really is great. Very few apps these days are truly free. Usually ads every two minutes but this is completely ad exclusive and that alone deserves 5 stars for me, let alone a fun game me and my wife challenge each other to every day
Stopped working
I bought the + version yesterday. It worked then. Today it’s just stuck on the start screen.
Challenge round problem
Make it so that the globe doesn’t continue scrolling during the challenge round/gauntlet. I can’t be fast when the globe is spinning when I’m trying to tap
US nonsense again
Halifax is a place in England. If you mean a place in the US you should specify, because if you don’t specify then it’s reasonable to assume you mean the original Halifax. Americans forget about the rest of the world.
Fix Your Clicking
The amount of times it registers a selection of location when I’m just trying to move the globe around is absolutely infuriating and is leading me to delete the game…..and I like the game a lot
Healthy App
Love the daily MapTap Routine, an app that’s educational and quick to- without adds or pop ups.
Frozen
Love the game but it froze on me. Even redownloading the app didn’t fix the issue. Had to cancel my subscription. Guess I’ll have to find a new game
Fun & challenging, but…
Really enjoy the challenge, but the comments if you miss the exact location are often mean & the rewards are rude. Makes me think the app was written by an a-hole!
Very America centric
I like this but get fed up of the assumption that everyone who plays is American. Usually there are 2 US destinations with snarky remarks for not getting them right. It’s a big world out there guys!
Good challenge and fun
Fun to do each day and compete with my kids!
Good app
Would be a 5/5 if it wasn’t for the kind of rude banter. Lol, call me sensitive, idc, when I manage to get relatively close (in the same country) i don’t want to read “worlds worst explorer” But maybe thats just me
So fun
Shameful to realize how bad my geography is but I love the snark as well as the accolades!
Love it
MapTap is a very interesting and enjoyable game for anyone who loves geography, maps and trivia. The blurbs about each of the 5 daily locations are amazing. My only complaint, and the reason it didn’t get 5 starts from me, is that occasionally users can inadvertently tap a location while trying to move around the globe. Definitely one of my favourite mornings games.
Miss snarky comments
Seems like the commentary after a selection is now polite. Really loved the snarky comments we used to receive
So good…. But
Great game. Can’t get it to work with family sharing. Very frustrating.
Fun and informative game
We especially LOVE the remarks AND the stories! Very inspirational… and funny!
Fun game but… very American
The game is fun to test your geography. But what they call easy are these small towns in the states. And they call hard relatively know places in the world. I would not consider Dhaka hard, but Huntsville Alabama!!! Somewhere in Alabama I guess. Also, in the practice maps, Bronx, Brooklyn, Statue of Liberty… they can all be guessed more or less by smacking the finger on Manhattan. It doesn’t zoom close enough to make the difference.
Love the app!!
A daily ritual that I compete against my adult kids with! I’m a lifer with Maptap!!
Excellent test of knowledge
I enjoy this daily challenge greatly but wish there was a chance to confirm each choice of location. Sometimes, when rotating the globe, the system thinks I’ve selected a location and I can be miles away from a known location!
Fun and educational
Me and wifey lay in bed and compete at MapTap every morning before work.
Good but somewhat US-centric
Good but wish it would make clear which practice maps I have completed each day. Annoying how it states ‘London, UK’ but then just writes ‘Maryland’ rather than ‘Maryland, USA’.
So much fun!
Everyone should challenge their brain as much as they can and this daily test is as good as it gets! I’m now studying maps to prepare for the next day!
Higher resolution desired
Great game but fuzzy when you zoom in and hard to get accurate pins.
