The Developer seals the deal
This app isn't the "perfect" LM Studio app, and there's definitely room for improvement, but let me tell you why I actually pay for Pro. The developer actually cares. He responds to feature requests, bug reports, and doesn't spent months between updates. You can tell this is a passion project by the regular and meaningful updates. Sure there's some bugs here or there, sure some things could be added, but as of this writing (July 22 2026), you won't find a better value, better compatibility, better communication or overall better experience on a native iOS app. Trust me I've looked. I use mostly local LLMs via ollama initially and LMStudio after, and now use open router as well. This app handles them all better than any other. Even on just the free version, this app as of this writing is 10x better than Locally (LM Studio's official app). The fact that it has speech, TTS, and photo llm handling for both on-model and via remote-local in addition to cloud providers is incredible.
Quickly jammed with garbage
I was using this app as a super simple front end to lmstudio server, it seemed to be one of the better apps for that purpose. I put it down for a couple weeks and come back and it’s now jammed with subscription prompts in every corner and a bunch of unnecessary features like personas used to upsell the subscription. They take up space and can’t be hidden if you just want basic usage. Unfortunately in the age of llm coded apps it’s all too easy to ruin the experience chasing money. Someone should make an app that can be bought once that just chats against lm studio/completions api. They’d have at least one purchase right here!

Web Search not working
Unfortunately the in-built web search is not working. It was working several times in the beginning but now it’s not working anymore. It’s a pity because in general it would be a nice app ….
Love the app
I wish there was a way to toggle thinking mode on and off for the models.
Great app for using LLM from your phone
Great app, developer constantly works to fix bugs
New chat Clutter
Opening a new chat has an extreme excess overflow of screen clutter for no actual reason. I am unable to close my keyboard since I can’t tap on the once empty space to see if there are spelling mistakes or errors due to this annoyance. Please remove the useless scrolling prompts upon new chat creation or at least a toggle to remove them. (They completely erase and rewrite the prompt if they are tapped, even by accident making them a bane.)
Best iPad App to Use with your Local LLMs
This is a great App to allow you to communicate with your local LLM. It works well with LmStudio and oMXL. But it has quite a few rough edges: a) many can be worked around b) many are getting fixed regularly by the developer who is very responsive if you post a bug / feature request (something I find very refreshing in the current App environment). and c) the free version is very featured so you can try it no risk.
Gives weird answers
Connecting to LM studio on a Mac Studio and just gives me weird responses that are not at all like those directly on the mac.
Good but based on android
The app is not bad, I really like how it works but the ui based on android, that’s horrible.
The best app!
Changing my review because the developer is quick and fixed an issue I ran into plus added an option to load models already downloaded!
Worst local LM client
I'm not going to document every problem as there are many. This app requires a desktop companion app besides just LM Studio. Because I have other apps that connect to LM studio, this is a strange quirk considering this is the official app. It also doesn't automatically start with comp. The model also unloads after a moment of inactivity if you change windows. There's also a bunch of image generation features bolted on that don't work out of the box. This is simply unfinished software. Someone should use an AI to finish it. As an AI product these issues are unacceptable because fixing them is trivial. 07/15 - response to developers response: LM mini is a desktop app enabling the mobile app
well coded app
its my goto app for connecting to my local lms server. the app delivers what it should and its only possible because its kept “simple” which i know anyone doing local ai appreciates. its pleasing interface, good navigation and all the settings that are needed in the obvious places. my only pet peeve is that memory management is a pro feature. i understand the dev’s needs to make this an advanced/paid feature which limits the usage of of “why” one would use a locally hosted lm studio. for simple general use this app is a no brainer
I want to believe
But I keep getting error 400 failed to stream stateful chat.
Also no local network
Worked fine for a few days but suddenly today there is no option for enabling access to local network in the app settings or in the iOS Local Network settings. Like it doesn’t exist.
Useful in more ways than I’ve discovered.
Every time I open the app it shows me something new.
MCP doesn’t work
Set everything up and the MCP models are not loaded, despite selecting them in the UI.
Good but glitchy
When asking about question with an image, the whole ui glitches as the model streams tokens
Looks great but the api is wrong
This looks great but the api is sending requests to /api/v0/models when i believe it should be sending them to /v1/models, full list of lm-studio api endpoints -> /v1/models, /v1/responses, /v1/chat/completions, /v1/completions, /v1/embeddings
Very cool
I like this a lot. It’s got support for voice chat and everything. This is great for people who use LMStudio to self-host language models at home. LMStudio has been around for a while but this app is a pretty new expansion and it’s been really satisfying to play around with.
Performance and stability issue
My phones gets significantly hotter when running the app despite the model not being run on device. The app also crashes so frequently that the model can’t even complete a single response.
Can’t launch after switch WiFi
Can’t launch after switch WiFi
Amazingly Useful
I really enjoy all of the features, especially the ability to connect to my local LLMs while I’m away from home! Please developer, keep up the great work!
no.
dont bother. just a headache to deal with
No local network
Can’t connect to my LM studio because iOS never prompt me for access to local network. Tried on both iPad and iPhone and never asked for local network so it can’t see LM studio. Is there a way to trigger iOS into asking. I check in local network settings inside iOS and the app doesn’t appear on the list.
Neat idea. Doesn’t work for me.
I’ve tried everything I can think to get this to work. LM Link works fine between computers. Just cannot get this to work and am giving up, but it looks like it has helped others. Edit: Dev is responsive, I’m sorted, this app slaps. Thank you!
Will Not Connect
Does not connect to LM Studio, I keep getting this error: Error: type 'Null' is not a subtype of type 'String' in type cast
Great for chat but mcp issues
The app is fast and smooth but for some reason, the mcp servers will never get called even after enabling them in app and making sure the settings are correct on the server. It’s like they don’t know it is configured.
works on my iPhone 7
There are not many apps that work for this version of iOS (seems to be less by the day,) but this developer cares. Thank you for taking the time to support this old iOS version
Updated Version
Thank you for the quick response and enhancements. Very pleased with all your work and efforts. Please keep up the great work. And disregard my original review - you are crushing it!
Feature-rich
Absolutely the best local LM Studio client around.
Fine
Finally made it working ! Works fine. Maybe if we could have a list of predefined prompts, this could be useful.
Excellent! Remote connect is impressive.
The QR setup is the killer feature. Excellent for fast setup and getting up to speed without fiddling with server settings for model testing on the go. Kokoro speech is an excellent addition as well. Recommend adding cloud speech api as well (grok’s new tts is amazing and cheap).
