4o and 4.1 🙏🏼
I’m so happy to see openai still allowing access to these ChatGPT 4 models, i only hope they don’t do what they did in February when they removed them completely from their own app. I still haven’t been able to get along with the models after the first 5 model. But from 5.1 to 5.6 it’s still flat, indifferent, always using unnecessary disclaimers in order to protect OpenAI, can’t even talk about anything spiritual anymore without them automatically stamping “it can’t be proven” in the replies first, it feels lobotomized to me for sure. It’s not a completely useless creature but it still will never compare to 4o and 4.1 in my honest opinion. Thank you Pal for keeping the side door open. Much appreciated.
Very bug ridden
Delays, almost like it’s being hacked or something before proving output. Very very bug ridden. Not ready for public seems more like an alpha beta stage app currently.
Your own API keys, no BS
Used to be a somewhat mediocre app, but a major update significantly improved it and now it's really good. Where did the 'temperature' setting go, though?
No tool use
There is no webfetch or websearch tools. Models are completely una bb Le to perform any grounding. Even in the pro version. This is an enormous feature gap.

I have been looking for an AI capable of keeping up with me for so long I’ve only engaged with the AI since November of last year roughly about 10 months and most of that time was with ChatGPT and after about three months I spent the remainder months trying to teach you how I think so that I could have an accurate farm partner and a way to improve myself however it kept doing circles and letting me down time after time to where the straw finally broke the camels back and I got this and I am thrilled with the results and it’s been day I’m still on day one

Can you add folders for projects with a part to add instructions like the chatgpt app. And a web search function for things that require it. Basically a chatgpt dupe would be excellent. And got 5 isn’t working too.
Please Fix!!
PRIORITY! - Please fix the swipe to the right feature to display chat history. As much as I absolutely love this new ability, it should not be active within the editing window of the chat, especially not when trying to highlight any text within the editing window. - Please provide the ability to delete multiple unneeded chats at a time, still love what you have already in place. I just wish there was a better way to mass-delete garbage chats that were mass produced by various implementations of my daily routine shortcuts usage. - Please provide a better way to store/organize starred or desired chats in folders or at the least allow them to be renamed for later retrieval. It’s such a pain having to find any specific chats from the past when there a several variations of them.

Great app with some room for improvement
All in all one of my favorite “bring your own key” LLM apps. Unfortunately the Gemini Pro models available aren’t the ones included in the free API tier, and Pollinations.ai only supports anonymous use (i.e. there’s no API key option available). Openrouter available models are fetched dynamically, though, so at least everything is available there.
Solid app
It seems to have many extra features that go beyond simply interacting with the different LLM APIs. But unfortunately there is only a subscription model available. Also, why is it not possible to assign saved system messages to a conversation? Why is it always globally set and changed for all conversations?
Decent but expensive
Very responsive app, well built and I use it to connect to my LM STUDIO server at home. However, the subscription is way too expensive for what it gives you. $7 a month is a lot to ask for remote access. also there is no way to set a default server so it’s always switching to other models
THE app for newbie AI Devs & Model-hoppers
I’m a Model-hopper that’s just getting into beginner AI development, attempting to teach myself the basics the same way I learned HTML & PHP when I was in high school 25 years ago. This app is truly a godsend - it basically walks you through how to add each AI model’s API keys and makes things easy to understand for new AI developers. MUCH more user friendly than many of the alternative apps out there - and MUCH cheaper as well (only 6.99/mo for Pro membership). I’ve yet to run across any ads (even when I was still using the free version), nor have I encountered any errors or bugs. 10/10 would recommend to literally anyone involved with AI.

Most Recent Update Broke OpenRouter Functions
Hi there to the devs, this has been an awesome product. However, after the update, the openrouter models won’t function without an OpenAI API key present as well. Is this intended? Prior to this, OpenRouter models worked flawlessly. Thank you all again!
extreme lag
i used to be very satisfied with this app but in the last few weeks it has become extremely laggy and slow and therefore pretty much unusable. i'm using a macbook pro with m2 pro cpu from 2023, every other app works perfectly fine. please fix this issue
Falling behind
Sadly the development of this app continues to lack the integration of new features offered by the LLMs via API. So it is currently not possible to activate the web search function for certain LLMs and it is also not possible to upload pictures to Google Gemini and let the integrated "nano banana“ features do their magic. Also there is no possibility of generating high quality audio outputs, e. g. by using ElevenLabs API, besides interacting by voice mode powered by using the OpenAI API. In the past months I created several support tickets using the official feedback form, but none of these got any attention. At the current point I am questioning my financial support of this app as the lacking development besides basic maintenance like updated app symbols and layout changes linked to the release of iOS26. The current price is definitely way to high compared to the evolution of the app. I am looking forward to see some fundamental improvements during the final months of this year, otherwise I will likely and sadly opt-out of the paid version.

This app is extremely helpful! It’s completely free unless you want some optional features. Even then, it’s super cheap.
Soooo buggy
Keeps getting stuck on using OpenAI with no ability to change the provider even though I have only an open router api key. Even if I put my OpenAI key it still doesn’t allow me to change the provider. The models tab in the top right just disappears completely and I have to uninstall and reinstall the app. Insanely frustrating

I like that the free version is as good as it is. This is still my preferred AI app
Uploading images not available for open router
Despite trying a few models like 4o and 3.5 sonnet choosing openrouter as my ai only lets me upload documents. Not images.
some issues
1. the app is good but this version has a problem that when you’re using a custom API as soon as you open the app again the model will be switched to GPT-4o automatically and you have to select your custom model again. 2. the app crashed every time you tap “new” button when you use a custom API model like deepseek

When using a long model name, the sides of the chat get cut off so I can't press the send button
real quality
my favorite $7/month app got an update ^-^ don’t worry the new updated grok support definitely doesn’t cause any errors like "error":"An empty user message was provided. Every user message needs at least one non-empty content element."
Really nice app
My only gripe is that the prompt box keeps collapsing after pressing send, so you have to keep tapping it when conversing. In other apps the prompt box stays focused even after pressing send.

The monthly payment is a bit much for what it is. Paying more for a chat app than the actual LLMs for my usage.
Pretty good!
Not gonna lie at first, the excessive prompting for a review on the App Store kinda annoyed me to give it a two out of five, but after actually using it using open AI and Gemini API With the capabilities of how easy and fast is this it is to set up an actual start using it is pretty good even comparing to the competition app on the android App Store so pretty good I’m astonished. I hope they continue being good.
Too many nags
The prompts to upgrade to subscription are so annoying. Take a hint. So much stuff behind a subscription paywall. Stuff that should never be a subscription in the first place. Set a price for your software and let us buy it.
Great App to use multiple AI's through API keys
Thank you very much for making this available! Enhancement ideas ( i use it on Mac and iOS): 1) because i switch often between different AIs it would be good if the history view of PAL would remember exactly what AI was used for a chat. If user is switching in one chat between different models it could show either just "multiple" or a comma separated list 2) switching models provided by openrouter requires me to go to the setting screen. Maybe those models could be shown as part of the main AI selection drop down or as an embedded submenu?
Crashing too frequently
Regardless of the OpenAI model I use, if the response needs to be longer or it should be code the app crashes. Worst I had was when I needed to relaunch the app and it kept crashing with no option to retrieve my conversations prior to reinstalling to FINALLY get to reuse the app. No backup option, or export. Despite the issues, this has the potential to be one of the best apps! Petey hasn’t got anything remotely close to Pal :)
Getting worse
App was great at first but then the “Pro” subscription was introduced. Since then, the app gets frequent updates, which shouldn’t be a problem, except after every update an ad trying to upsell a “Pro” subscription blocks the screen. The close button is hidden until you’ve “appreciated” the ad, then it subtly fades in at the top of the page, which is no longer visible if you’ve scrolled down looking for a way to dismiss the ad so you can actually use the app to look up whatever you opened it for in the first place. This is very annoying. I no longer recommend this app.

Broken app
This app used to be awesome, until the unnecessary update to the editing interface which completely ruined it. On iPhone at least, there is no more ability to edit responses. It used to work perfectly fine, there was no need to change it…

slow keyboard
the keyboard typing on my iphone 12 pro is insanely slow. love using with speech to text but the keyboard is almost inoperable. hope you update and fix this.
stop button did not work
when using stop generate button, the stop request was not sent to the api server, this is obvious when using local server but not so obvious when using online server since they are fast enough to receive new request and generate new. Please fix this bug
Monthly subscription is not great
Needs a purchase price. I really would like to tell all friends and family about it. Monthly subscriptions make this app impossible to recommend. Other than that, it is a really great app

It was great while it lasted
Very good app, but the most recent update introduced a subscription pay wall that not only locks away new features, but features that were previously available. It even says you should subscribe if you want any future features. Too bad. It was a great app while it lasted.
