Dark Sky is back!
A very well-rounded, clean and informative weather app. Brings back the aesthetic and feel of Dark Sky (we all miss you!). A very welcome new weather app. Kudos to the devs.
Not impressed
Definitely trial this app before paying. I was an original Dark Skies user and loved that app. I had this one for a couple of days before removing it. It does not seem to be working correctly. Maybe down the road after some glitches get worked out, but definitely not worth right now
An excellent alternative to many weather apps!
In the last several months of use, this app has slowly improved, and is lovely to use on a daily basis. I find myself pining for live activity notifications though, especially with incoming rain notifications, and lightning strike alerts. Can we see this in the future? I’d love to make this my only weather app going forward.
Just not accurate
I really want to love this app. It comes with an amazing pedigree, it looks great, it has some nice ideas but…well, it’s just not accurate. Over a week it forecast rain more than half a dozen times when it was dry as a bone outside. Being pretty doesn’t count for much if it can’t actually forecast the weather reliably. A shame
Fine, but behind other apps
This app is perfectly fine. I subscribed even. I just find myself never using it. It doesn’t offer anything that other weather apps don’t already have. I need more customization, more weather maps, more data, etc. This is great for a quick look at the weather but not really usable for any serious meteorology or prediction.
Great App
Acme Weather is a great app. Perfectly location-specific and providing a plethora of great information. Definitely an app I’m happy to pay for. I was very sorry to see Dark Sky go. Its team has developed a VERY worthy successor.
Worst weather app ever
This app‘s accuracy is the worst. I’m a weather nut and I have many weather apps installed. The last 10 times Acme Weather said to expect rain, there has been no rain. Its temperature predictions are off. I paid to subscribe to this app. I had a high hopes for it … but now I wish I had my money back.
Change the app logo!
Everything else works as advertised but the logo is terrible.
Not worth it, ugly icon
This has been hyped, but I don’t get why. Wrong precipitation notifications, data overall not precise. I suggest using Weathergraph or other European alternatives.
Not the Dark Sky I remember
I would love to be able to get severe weather notifications for more than my current location. Please add favorites as an option.

Bug in precipitation report
Every morning I open up the app. Every morning it says it’s going to rain for the next hour. Same report, even if there’s not a cloud in the sky.
Now in Europe!
Been waiting for this dark sky was a brilliant app and this is more of what made it so great. That said not really overly Enamoured with having to drop a years sub on a weather app before I can get a real feel for how accurate it is. Would appreciate a monthly option
Interface
It’s a lot of work to quickly find details for the day. The graphs are nice, but you have to change what you’re looking at for each detail and scroll to the time to get details when there are times I just want to see a quick table of all the details for the day by hour
Nice app
I like it so far but for the cost of the subscription its in a similar price tier as carrot and as of now does less than carrot. I wish it was easier to see a summary of the day/week and I’d rather have city location at the top rather than specific streets especially when traveling. Also would like to see a different app icon. Hopefully improvements are coming cause this has great potential
Seems Accurate
I’ve been using Acme Weather for a few days now and it seems to be spot on as far as predicting precipitation, temperature, etc. It seems to use the NWS API for weather data. It remains to be seen if the $25 subscription price is warranted considering Apple Weather is free.
Disappointed
Someone commented “Dark Sky is back”. I strongly disagree with this statement. Accuracy of this weather app is extremely low, notifications for weather alerts are turned on but never actually come through and there have been no improvements during my time of use. Unless the app dev team truly dives into fixing the issues, I’ll call it a waste of time and money and discontinue my subscription.
Ok but needs work
Great app but needs better widgets and the watch complications are weak. Needs a “conditions”.
I’m sorry. Dark sky had us at a glance. This a cartoon then hidden sliders to find rain.
I regret my enthusiasm for buying the ‘Dark Sky’ clarity. And what happened to the more specific time when rain would start. At the end of the day it’s either nice or cold or wet for most of us. Make this easier. Not all weather conditions are equal. If you’re looking for the amazing g DARK SKY this ain’t it. Yet.
Amazing UI
I love the interface, how everything is made very simple and easy to access. The only thing I feel disappointed in is the accuracy of the app. Sometimes it would say it would rain, but no rain many times. The maps are amazing
Favorite Weather App & I Have Tried Many
I truly appreciate this weather app. Quickly supplanted my other weather related apps. Just this past week, the AQI maps were very helpful when deciding to take our pup for a walk. I also like that by default, Acme Weather will show other models to give you a good idea about what other models are thinking along with their own efforts. A very transparent mindset. Loved Dark Sky and love this service even more by the same team. BTW, I have used it on macOS Tahoe and earlier macOSes and have never had a problem with it. Your experience may vary but it has been great for me.

Good Weather App
Solid app, almost replaces the much-missed Dark Skies. Look forward to updates and additions.
Pricey and widget is not customizable
$35/year is ridiculous. It’s a weather app! Also in most places, the actual temperature means nothing. It’s the “Feels like” that matters the most so not being able to customise the widget to show feels like is crazy. That’s why no weather app will beat WeatherNetwork.
Family
While i like the app and it seems to be reasonably correct! I strongly dislike that apple family sharing does mot work and my wife must buy it just like i did! Apple says - : built-in sharing systems that let family members download purchased apps for free, and collaborative apps designed for family households.

Where is Cambridge?
The app keeps switching to showing the weather in someplace called Cambridge (which one? England, Massachusetts, ?). I want it to show the weather where I am. I already set my location as a favorite but that seems to have no effect.
Very good!
Acme is a great new take on Weather apps. It eschews many of the foolish style-over-substance aspects of other apps while offering a great look of its own. It’s got great performance, and some of the visuals, like the single chart graph of alternate forecasts and the multiple layers of clouds are really useful. It is my primary weather app. All that said, I despise carousels and forcing a front-and-central horizontal menu on people is a very bad choice. There’s got to be a better way to present it (a vertical menu would be fine) and I think it was lazy of their designers to go with a hackneyed late-2010s approach. I also think that missing wet-bulb temperatures is a major loss. It’s a critical measurement of felt heat that tracks the body’s ability to cool itself, and it can save lives, especially for outdoor workers and those without AC in many parts of the world (including the US). I suspect it’s not available from many data sources, but showing it where possible would be a major advance in weather apps. Finally, iPad support. I’m sure they’re working on that, though. ;-) Overall, it’s a very good app with potential to be truly great.
No Family Sharing
Needs to support Family Sharing before I’ll consider subscribing. Paying $35 x 5 is untenable.
Not Dark Sky
I bought a subscription for this because I loved Dark Sky before it was bought and buried (I believe by Apple). I dunno if it’s the federal cuts to funding for weather predictions in the US. But I’m writing this standing in a rain that Acme says isn’t happening. This is quite frequent. I don’t see it any more accurate than the many free options out there. I want Dark Sky back!!
Excellence
This is the freshest weather app in so long from some incredible developers; it’s already great and I can’t wait to see where it goes. This is my main weather app—speaking as a weather and app nerd who has spent too much on apps. This and Carrot for alerts are all you need. This app has the info you need easily visible instead of buried like Carrot. It incorporates uncertainty which is SUCH a fresh idea; every other app either pretends it knows everything or gives SO much data that you need to be a meteorologist to read it. Just get it already!
Trial is Two Weeks. Can Cancel Day 13.
Seems a weak effort, do we need another weather app? I don’t. Weather is not accurate more than 2-3 days out anyways. Go with Environment Canada. Nothing unique here. Cancel day 13 for no charge if it’s not for you. I’m in Canada.
Great ideas and great interface, but needs more platforms
I think the app is great. The maps and alternative predictions are awesome. I like the flexibility of notifications. However, I’d love to see proper macOS and iPadOS support.

Welcome-Back Weather
So happy to see a modern-day Dark Sky return! In the first month of it being available, the app itself is exactly what I would have asked for: Dark Sky, but in 2026. Hoping to see building out more Watch complications (such as the corner spots on Wayfinder face, for example), iPad/Mac layout support, and widgets. Also…maybe a new icon. That said, moving off the Apple Weather app and back onto a clean, simple, accurate app for $25/year (seriously, why are some of y’all whining about ~$2/mo?) is such a welcome surprise. Even the real-time notifications are as accurate as they used to be. Welcome back, guys!
Excellent, except for pricing
I welcome back the dark sky developers and this great app. I think all the early bugs are gone and it’s a joy to use. But the pricing seems like a money grab. The devs initially didn’t support Family Sharing (Dark Sky did), and when they did, they doubled the price. Disappointing.

No two weeks free
I was about to sign up but decided not to as there is no two weeks free trial in Canada. Delete. They will lose a lot of potential business - not to mention word of mouth - in Canada this way. Too bad.

Still waiting for a Mac and iPad native version
Sure, checking the weather on your iPhone is great, but it would be even better if I could check it on my iPad and buy a Mac. Don't see why this is such a difficult thing. In the meantime, I will use another weather app that supports these platforms.
Like old Dark Sky, but better
I’m on the water five days a week and this is the only app that provides accurate data without looking like MS-DOS
Beta, ugly app icon, no trial
As other has mentioned, there is no beta available in Canada. The app itself appears to be very much beta, the app icon is hideous, not something I would want on my home screen. Expected better from the developer. Maybe in time the app will improve, but not worth it and its current beta state.

It’s a nice enough app although pricey, the more i use this app the more I’m liking it. I still think pricing is going to be a problem for most people including myself.
