This app should be temporarily removed until real improvements are being made. Is filled with serious flaws that hinders its performance of recognizing legitimate spams from others that are not.
Call guard
I like it but it doesn’t do a lot off blocking…I get endless 800,888 numbers that are all telemarketers and it doesn’t block any of them and I have to do manually! It needs a lot of improvements
Fails to recognize some calls
This app fails to recognize certain calls that my iPhone registers. When I use the “search” feature it tells me that the number has not contacted me recently yet my iPhone shows the number called today.
Good but could be better
I like Xfinity call Guard but much improvement needs to be done. A lot of calls would bypass and get through also giving the option to strictly allow on contacts. Also allowing no notifications for the app to work. These days spam calling is outrageous and to have all options available to satisfy a frustrated customer will draw more people to spread the word and Xfinity will gain more customers. Overall the app is ok but could be improved significantly. Take notes from TiVo killer and other apps which I used to own but the monthly charge is not worth it.

Ya, No. I read about the app and it’s just Xfinity getting more info from everyone. Now they want in your contacts, I read in some states they even collect health info from those who are blind. That was their one example. I think it was Washington & one other. When is this going to stop. This app isn’t something that isn’t already available don’t answer the phone or in settings. I’d be content with a landline if I didn’t have to use the internet is there phone lines anymore? This is crazy

You do a great job but you do miss some spam
Less effective recently
Was working well just a couple months ago but now I’m getting several spam calls that make it through a day. I report each number, and hope other are too. In any case, for whatever reason it’s not working as well these days. Perhaps adding filter options could help. Many of the states these calls originate from are places that would never call me, for instance.

Since adding Call Guard, SPAM calls are almost nonexistent! It quietly blocks many of the calls I should not receive! 😊
Defective useless
I never had so much spam until I switched to Xfinity mobile. I’ve called twice to have them resolve it. I use the call guard and phone settings - still get spam. This doesn’t do jack. It allows calls to get through just silences them and not leave voicemails. Useless

Re-reviewing this because it seems to be improving, catches a lot more spam calls now (and I’m getting more than ever so it’s helpful)

Bad At Blocking Spam
I upgraded my plan to block spam calls and I still get them daily. An extra $15 for this is not worth it.

If you have Xfinity mobile plus, it just works, no log ins needed. Breaks down all the spam call and blocks the stuff you don’t want. Weirdly works well. Try it.
The worst app for Spam blocking
If I could give this a -100 I would definitely do so I have my phone on do not disturb. I have every single set the correct way to block I still get phone calls coming through.! Don’t waste your time honestly switch carriers because Comcast/Xfinity has gone downhill! What used to be a feature now you have to pay an increase cost for this feature

Doesn’t Work
I got the premium unlimited mobile plan, specifically to stop the number of robocalls I get daily. I’m pretty tech savvy and no matter how I adjust the settings in the app, most of the robocalls still get through. It’s very disappointing. So I went back to my old mobile plan that doesn’t include Xfinity Call Guard. I’ll just have to deal with the annoying robocalls I get on the daily. There’s no stopping them, sadly to say.

This app should block spam calls… it needs a feature to put key words to block when it asks for a reason of the call… wish i could tell it to block all calls that say loan… i do not want a loan or care about a loan from an unknown bank… please add a feature to block key words so my phone stops ringing 300 times a day….
Best Screener Yet!
Hands-down, the best call screening app I’ve used, paid or free. Xfinity offers Call Guard free of charge, to their customers! Most certainly top-notch as far as these types of apps go. There was an awful period of time, when the spam/scam calls I was receiving, became relentless. Around that time Xfinity launched this call guard App. I got it immediately. Those ridiculous calls stopped practically overnight. The app is user-friendly and very informative for viewing every single call, including their “spam risk potential.” I highly recommend Xfinity as a whole. Our family has used Xfinity Home & mobile services for 7+ years. Currently, I’m a diamond member & there are excellent perks! Such as a subscription to the Perplexity AI App. Plus, so much more! If you’re looking for a call screening app that works and makes sense, try this one! It’s brought a lot of peace to my life.

With the amount of random and spam calls I get, this has been such a nice option to have! I love being able to better screen my calls and avoid unnecessary interruptions. It’s easy to use, does what I need it to do, and gives me more control over who gets through. So far, I’m loving it!

I have the ultimate service and still get 8 Robo calls per day. Very annoying.
