The app claims to use the official list of instances. The German instance „Fun Facts“ is listed there. But with this app, the instance can‘t be found.

Kudos to the programmers for the new tablet layout and for getting full screen to work even on an iPad (something Instagram haven't yet managed despite their billions ) ... and even, it seems on a first glance, reinstated HDR (Rec.2020) video support for PeerTube which is fabulous!

Great, with some flaws
Works great if you want a dedicated app for browsing PeerTube, but I couldn't find a way to disable the touch controls for brightness and volume when in fullscreen, so I end up accidentally changing the volume and brightness when adjusting my hand or wiping off dust. The video player also has some delay to it, and it feels kind of "heavy" to control because of it. There also doesn't seem to be a way to watch videos in picture-in-picture mode, but there's at least background audio. Overall, needs some work, but is serviceable enough for its purpose.
Great Promise
Here lies hope that YouTube won't always have the playground all to itself. Wish it would let audio continue if I close my phone, though. There are many videos I'd like to keep listening to, even if I can't look at the screen.

Cette alternative de YouTube, qui respecte la vie des privées et qui nous bombardent, pas de pub toutes les 30 comme YouTube et il y a aucune pub donc vous êtes tranquille sur peertube par contre là où j’ai juste retiré une étoile, c’est que c’est le parcours du combattant juste pour créer un compte et ça c’est dommage, j’aurais aimé que ça fasse comme mastodonte qu’on rentre juste une adresse e-mail et un Mots de passe et c’est tout!

Die Idee hinter der App ist sehr gut, keine Frage. Aber im in der Benutzung muss ich feststellen, dass die Videos auf der Startseite, unter der Plattformen Übersicht, einfach nicht laden wollen.

Keine Barrierefreiheit bei iPhone
Sorry unbenutzbar, da komme ich schon durch die erste Seite nicht durch, da ich nicht zu dem komme was offenbar unter dem Screen ist, es lässt sich auch nicht dahin scrollen. Da ich eine Vergrößerung für bessere Lesbarkeit auf dem iPhone eingestellt habe, liegt es wohl daran. Das muss eine App berücksichtigen, ansonsten ist sie für mich nicht benutzbar. Sorry.
Luft nach oben
Hervorragende Idee, Umsetzung ist könnte aber in punkto User Experience wesentlich besser sein. Es sollte leichter sein, verschiedene Plattformen zu finden, ohne dabei die App verlassen zu müssen und grundsätzlich fehlt es an Übersichtlichkeit. Abonnieren, Kommentieren, etc. sollte einfacher sein und nicht pro Plattform. Das würde mit der Zeit sehr schnell unübersichtlich werden und ist nicht wirklich förderlich für die Nutzerfahrung. Dennoch eine gute Idee, welche unterstützt werden sollte… aber mit Luft nach oben.

Wish it were better but man it’s awful. Very little content. The app doesn’t correctly orient and gets stuck upside down.
Love it, but some hiccups
I love this app, but if you’re like me and aren’t used to federated apps such as this (I’m not even sure if I’m using the right terminology), there is a learning curve. There are work arounds, but you’re going to want to do some trial and error type stuff to fully understand it.

Confusing like the broader PeerTube ecosystem
I downloaded the app so I could try to follow some PeerTube channels as following them from Mastodon seems to be completely broken. Nope, it looks like I can’t do that with a “local” PeerTube account. OK, so I guess I need to create an account with an instance. Good luck trying to find one as a viewer/consumer. The entire ecosystem is designed for content creators. They’re important, but a bit pointless if none can subscribe, like, comment, etc. I checked the official PeerTube documentation. Again, designed for creators and sysadmins. They’re not written for the average Joe looking for a YT alternative - as a consumer. Am I meant to run my own instance just so I can follow a few channels and like a few videos? Maybe the project team need to go find a few noobs and see if they have any luck getting started because I guarantee you they’ll just give up and put it into the too hard basket.

Great start at 0.56, I can’t wait until you can sort out logging in from all different servers. I’m sure email programs do this so why is your app disallowed by the Apple App Store! Might give the store a negative review!

Needs background play capability
When listening to music or a stream you cannot exit the application without the audio/video being interrupted.

Administrateur d’une instance, je regrette juste qu’on ne puisse pas accéder à d’autres instances que celles référencées. C’est vraiment un frein aux créateurs qui passent le cap du libre pour quitter YouTube. :( Un bouton permettant d’ajouter une instance personnalisée et non seulement rechercher dans une sélection serait un vrai plus.
A new chapter for online video streaming
I really like the Peertube app as it is straightforward, open source and private. I love the independence content creators can have with their channels being able to choose which server to host their videos on.
Will not work on small screen phones
I have an iPhone SE 2021 and the Welcome To PeerTube screen comes up, but there is no visible way to navigate to the next screen. I have tried swiping up, down, left, and right to try to scroll to find a button to click. No scrolling. The app is useless to me and others in this state. I would really like to move to this platform along with my favorite content creators but…

Unusable
How do I login to an account? No way to do this. When I try and add an account I just get the Explore screen.
iPad
Excellent that now we can log in. However, it *desperately* needs an ipad version to take an advantage of the screen size, to be a real competitor to other video streaming sites and apps, and not have to deal with the *tiny* iphone on ipad interface.

Who is this app even for???
You cannot log into your account. It’s simply not even an option. You just get a local account. The app cannot even properly search other instances (only the defaults) and you must type the exact address of the instance for it to load. It gives you the option to bookmark new instances but this doesn’t actually get saved. Each time you open the app you will need to re-type the instance address again to access it. I’m left wondering who this app is for and what the purpose of it is. You can only save videos to “watch later” and only the videos on the default instances. No ability to log into to existing accounts, no ability to like and comment and add videos to playlists, no ability to upload. This is probably the most disappointing FOSS app I’ve ever tried on iPhone. There simply are no features unless you want to watch the default videos on default instances. All 26 of them.

J'ai retrouvé toutes les fonctionnalités de sites similaires, l'interface est intuitive, et parfaitement fonctionnelle. Par contre, je ne trouve pas comment importer des vidéos sur le site, et c'est dommage qu'on ne puisse pas encore se créer de compte. Je rajouterai l'étoile qui manque quand ce sera ajouté :)
