Not sure why the rating is so low. Towbook is an awesome tool for the tow industry. Definitely worth every penny.
Update the app please
This app needs a update bugs needs to be fixed when uploading pictures or when using the app to take pictures very low resolution and quality when using the latest phone
Getting close
The app is pretty good, I would still like to be able to look at photos while you’re editing the call. Also, if the app would save your times that you go in route or go on scene, even though you don’t have service, just save it and then upload it after would be great and for the love of God get rid of that stupid 😢 that shows up every time you try to complete the call and you’ve missed a signature or something that stupid 😢 just utterly ridiculous. Other than that, it’s all right it’s getting better. Keep up the good work. oh yeah, change it so it doesn’t ask for keys every single time where the keys who you receive the keys would you give the keys to? Sometimes there’s no keys involved if I put NA for not applicable then leave it at that. why do I have to still fill out the other two request for where the keys are?
Dispatch
When using the iPhone app to dispatch often Android users don’t get notifications or alerts. If I use my iPad and the website no issues. This is a huge inconvenience Need option for loop alerts for iPhone, and able to change alert tones
Sound issues
I work for a small tow company and I have been in the industry for eight years. I have used both Dispatch anywhere and now using Towbook personally, I do like Towbook a little bit better but lately I have ran into an issue where the notification sound for the Towbook app does not sound anymore. In fact I don’t get any notification of when I get a call. I thought it may be my phone. I made sure everything was updated. I made sure everything on the phone end was turned on to the point it would allow sound and I still have not been able to get sound back when specifically dealing with this app I don’t know what the issue is, but if it could be addressed and fixed, and that would be much appreciated
Changed my life.
This app has made my life so much more organized. Love it.
Uploading photos
You take photos using the app, you have it selected to still save to camera roll to be safe, you take 15 photos and hit done, and you don’t see the normal count of photos uploading , you see a non descriptive paper clip icon. That almost always means you lost the photos as they won’t save to your camera roll and won’t upload to the call either.
Auction tab
I really wish the app was the same across devices. On my iPhone I cannot see the auction tab but it shows on android devices. So glad I can see accounts though!
Sounds
I used to have a Samsung phone and was able to change the alert tone switched to iPhone and now I can’t do it why make it different
To quiet
I love the app, but the sounds are much too soft. I lose many jobs because I cannot hear the chime go off. I can’t seem to find any way to change the tone or change the volume also does not ring persistent it needs to stay on like an alarm clock
Long time user
I’ve been using Towbook since 2013. It has become better over the years. Basic notifications fail to come through sometimes occasionally, but then again, so do phone calls…. This could possibly be better if the app developer could make notifications “time sensitive” as an option like other iPhone apps do. The amount of mistakes it prevents employees from making (IF IT IS SET UP PROPERLY) more than pays for the monthly service fee. Set up rules for each of your accounts to do this. Some of these reviews are laughable. Towbook has always worked with me when I have had issues. Call or message them if you do.
Notifications
I see all you people complaining about the notification sound must be on ios😂. On android you can choose whatever sound is in your library. Dont get me wrong, the app is pretty trash but take a look at it on android. I promise 🤯. My major issue is that now my towbook (on workphone, ios) will not make a peep. Sounds all the way up and notifications enabled and NADA. The only way I know I have a new job is if I remember to look at my phone every 3 minutes.
Great app
Only doing 4 stars since the app isn’t carplay compatible nor does the notification sound come through carplay along with digital dispatches accept and decline screen getting in the way, would do 5 stars if it was compatible though along with other ui improvements.

I am running the new IOs26 and I get consistent TLS errors I never had, issues uploading and receiving calls etc. seems there is an issue with the new iOS version! I would not update iOS until patches are made.

Great if it worked
Constant issues, the more they add the more issues the app has. Back in 18/19 there was never issues. Now it’s multiple times a month. Don’t invest your business down this app

Low iOS notification sound
It’s so hard to hear dispatch notifications it sounds so quiet. on ion with this app. Android has customizable notification sounds where you can change the sound to make it louder why can’t you on iOS?
Log in/out
This app will randomly sign me in if I’m logged out, or randomly sign me out if I’m signed in. Very annoying when there is a limited amount of time to read the job and accept or reject. iPhone 14 max

App works great need a option on the settings so we can change the notification tones too what we want to make it louder too hear And calls come in silent sometimes and we have to delete and reinstall too get it to work Can u fix it And add ringtone loud ones please

You all need to fix the directions. Each time I get directions in the app it leads me to the wrong location.

Will be 5 stars when we get dark mode support and dark mode icon support for iOS 18

The app is good and allows for seamless communication between dispatchers and drivers i cant speak on customer service it would be great if the app worked with apple carplay and android auto for marking calls and pulling up gps from the trucks stereo

“Starting Today” they advertised on social media , FB , IG I had Waze app open to see it all, on a accident call , arrived on scene checked Waze app and nothing. These Companies DO NOT Care about us. Publicity Stunt indeed. “Starting today” LIES!!!
That Horrible Ringtone
For what it is, the app works great. But for the absolute love of god… PLEASE make the ringtone editable.. either to change it all together or just shorten it. Having to hear that thing blare 5 times makes before it shuts up, makes me want to jam pencils in my ears.
Great Idea, poor execution
This app has sooo much potential, but the developers have got to start focusing on fixing all the basic core elements that have been broken for far too long.
Has potential but falls short.
IOS user. Latest update messed with iPhone quality. Drivers used to be able to edit call times, especially when the server acts up. We send screen shots of google maps to dispatch so they can keep track of destinations and eta’s Now we can’t. Dealerships grade our performance on this. Hope to get it back When you select 20-30 pictures to upload the app sometimes only uploads maybe 5. And then there will be duplicates. Vin reader will not work because the in app camera quality is terrible. It doesn’t auto focus IOS users need the selfie mode for taking pics of under cars

Great app! Will there ever be a update to be able to change notifications sounds and add vibration on Apple devices? Think it would help a lot for those who do on call! And you can only change sound with android phone.

Needs Car play and android auto
Overall very good app but with today age and trucks come factory with car play and android auto when connected to that you get no notification when a call is sent to you an app for car play would be a game changer

Sounds
They need to have several alert options for those of us who use an iPhone because sometimes the sound it has to alert a new call is extremely stressful. We recommend checking the billing module because according to the rates we have configured for drivers, when making a report, rates appear. different ones that we never configure and we have to do the entire manual process and this takes a lot of time and is very frustrating, keep working, you are doing a good job, thank you
Great App
We have been using Towbook for 5 to 6 years and we wouldn’t use anything else! Very easy to use and they listen to their clients when it comes to updates! The 24hr helpline is amazing for any late night issues we might run into. The iOS version is way better then the android version for some reason. Had to buy an iPhone to take advantage of those extra features. But it’s a great solid app! Keep up the good work! Now if they could incorporate Clover along with square in to their payment portal that would be amazing!
Not user friendly
How about anything that tells you, how to use the app? I now, know why it has a low rating in the App Store
Crashes too often
I’ve experienced the app crashing after I accept jobs, which causes me to lose money. If “Tow Book” fix the bugs it would be a pretty good app.
Calls
So for some reason I can’t go look at calls older then a 12 days on my Towbook.
Great app to go with a great dispatching program
The TowBook app makes it easy for my drivers to enter call information directly into the job they have been dispatch. Also they can document previous damage to vehicles by simply opening their job and adding pictures with their phone. Great job TowBook
License plate entry/camera focus.
Constantly having to retype in license plates after the vin pops up since the app likes to delete it right after it loads the vin. Camera through the app will not focus for some reason.
Vin number
I use this app every day. Literally the only problem I have is when entering the last three of the vin number… the tag number will disappear and I’ll have to do it all over again. Please fix this problem
Alerts
There is no way to customize alerts or sounds. Also if you are connected to bluetooth or CarPlay you don’t get alerts and lose many jobs.
More options?
Now being a tow truck operator calls for some late nights. And without the proper sound or notification to alert us, we’re gonna be sound asleep with no way to be reached. I believe there should be a notification sound option to choose from your existing sounds. Because no offense, but a chime doesn’t always do the trick. Hopefully this is a option for a later date.
