Essential App
I’ve been using this app for more than 10 years. Not sure how I managed my accounts without it. Easy to use. Stable. Great functionality. Regular updates. Rare bugs are addressed quickly. Highly recommend.
New Ads Format
I recognize that revenue is necessary to support the app, but the number and frequency of ads have gone too far. At this point, they significantly interfere with usability and overall experience.
Ability to manually sort accounts would be great
I wish there’s an option to manually sort accounts on the account page/screen in whatever order a user wants. That would be great. Also, on the account list screen, when I click on any account I would like to see a starting balance at the very bottom of the transactions. This gives me a visual picture of the starting balance I had back then when I first started and the balance at the present time. Thank you
Crashing
In the last week, the app will not open without crashing. I can’t access my information. It is up to date and I have even reinstalled. I’m not sure what to do.
Backup of the transaction should be available if the app is deleted.

Keeps Me Balanced
Best app to figure out where your money goes. I’ve used it for bills, a contractor job, my Dad’s Estate. Really worth the annual subscription.
DO NOT INSTALL THIS APP!
When this app is open in free mode you will get ads that are straight up phishing scams! Also, the links for giving a review or communicating with the developer do not work. If you have this app, I would be very cautious of using the cloud backup. Try finding any useful info on this developer. Sketchy!
Balancing the check book
I love the app but I wish it had a function when I’m reconciling to my bank account. An extra column to check when the transaction appears in my bank account.
Scam popups
5 stars for the app itself - 0 stars for scam popups. I just downloaded the free version and loved how easy it is to navigate. However, the next day when I now open the app, a scam popup comes up that I accidentally clicked on. Could have been scammed lots of $$ if I hadn’t closed out the window. Maybe should update the app to eliminate these scam popups.
Annoying Ads
Normal Ads are fine, it’s expected for a free app, but why do they have to be videos with loud audio?

I was appalled when I logged in today and the app that was being advertised, had fairly explicit pornography on the screen
Basic Checkbook App
This app has some decent features such as recurring charges and the ability to add multiple accounts. I paid the monthly fee, hoping that I would have some additional features, but the app continues to show that I'm not logged in. Also, I would highly value the ability to categorize transactions according to purpose. Such as food, clothing, etc., with perhaps the ability to show how much is spent in each category per month.
Lock up my entire system
Worked fine for a few weeks. Now every time I open it it locks up my I-pad. I’ll be looking for another more functional app.
Reoccurring transaction sync not working
I need my reoccurring transactions/scheduled to sync with register but it’s not working I’ve tried everything.
Can’t function without this app in my life!
This app is a life changer for sure. I am able to keep our bank account in the positive every month. I love being able to look back on past debits/credits with the search function. Please keep this app going, because I simply can’t live without it!
Unhappy
After a couple uses it makes you upgrade service or deal with ads. Ads are plastered in the middle of the transaction screen.

I love this app but I just wish there weren’t adds on it. If there were no adds then I would give it 5 stars
Simple Checkbook App With Some Limitations
I’ve been using another app similar to this one, but it’s missing two features I’ve realized I really need. So I decided to look for other simple apps for balancing my checkbook without syncing my accounts, and that’s how I landed on Balance My Checkbook. Pros: The app looks nice and clean, which I appreciate. One standout feature is the ability to search transactions by name, amount, type, or note. That’s something my current app does not offer, and it’s genuinely useful. You can also filter transactions to view all, cleared, or uncleared, which makes reconciliation easier. Cons: On the main accounts screen, the app shows a total balance across all accounts, but there’s no option to exclude certain accounts from that total. This is inconvenient if you want to track savings but not have it counted as your available balance. There’s also no reporting to show how your money is being spent. Traditional spending categories like groceries or household do not exist. There is a “type” field (cash, check, debit card, deposit, etc.), and you can create custom types of your choosing, so you could technically use this as a category system. However, transactions cannot be split. If you buy groceries and a coffee maker in one trip, everything has to be assigned to a single type. And since there’s no reporting, using types as categories does not actually help you analyze your spending. Recurring transactions and several other basic features are locked behind a subscription. This includes unlimited accounts, ad-free use, data export, lock screen protection, and scheduled transactions. The subscription options are Premium with Backup at $1.99/month or $22.99/year, and Premium with Sync at $4.99/month or $57.99/year. For a checkbook app, that feels expensive. Overall: While the app looks good and has a few features I really like, especially search and filtering, the lack of reporting, limited categorization, and subscription pricing make this a hard pass for me.
Sync with android?
Love the app but wish it would sync with android so my husband can view our banking. Is there any future plans to update the app to sync with android? So many couples have different phones!
Best Check Register By Far
I’ve used several check register apps. This one is by far the best one out there. Extremely user friendly.
Worked for a while
Edit: was just contacted by the developer, more than 4 month after leaving my review. I have since moved on to a different app to keep track of my balance and have yet to have any issues. I understand things can get busy and immediate responses aren’t usually possible, but after 4 months you can’t possibly expect someone to keep an app that fails to keep accurate track of funds. Frankly it’s insulting. I used this app for a few years to keep track of my expenses, as that is what it’s for. I kept having random discrepancies between what my ledger said and what my bank account said. At first I thought I was just putting in the numbers wrong. Recently I downloaded a different app to see if I was entering things wrong. Turns out this app is occasionally wrong with its math, sometimes by a few pennies, other times by significantly larger sums. Checked and double checked that I entered things the same way in both apps, and the other app has yet to be off. I’m sure there are others who have experienced similar issues, and no disrespect to the makers of this app, but I can’t afford to have these discrepancies, overdraft charges and all.
Lags Behind
This app lags in updating between my phone and my spouses, making for inaccurate information! I pay for the upgraded app and have been using it for several years, but it doesn’t work accurately with sharing.
Ok App
This makes an excellent cheque register, but it needs to accommodate recurring transactions and be able to reconcile to the bank. I assumed if I paid for the full upgrade it would give me this. Disappointed. Looking for another app.

Not always mathematically correct
The last few months, it’s been a challenge keeping track of my finances and what is going to clear. I’ve checked and re checked and I’ve been entering things in correctly and it’s still off my hundreds of dollars. Not a great feeling. Will be deleting and getting a new app

Excellent Checkbook Register App
5 stars. This is one of the best checkbook register apps I’ve found. I appreciate that it focuses on account management and future transaction planning without trying to become an overly complicated budgeting system. I use the scheduling feature extensively to enter future bills, expenses, and planned transactions. It helps me see my true available balance and stay ahead of upcoming obligations. The interface is clean, simple, and easy to learn. My biggest feature request would be enhanced bank synchronization. Ideally, I would like the app to sync automatically with my checking and savings accounts while allowing me to continue manually entering future transactions. When an actual bank transaction posts, it would be great if the app could automatically recognize and match it to the scheduled transaction and then clear it from the register. That would provide the best of both worlds: the simplicity of a traditional check register with the convenience of modern account syncing. Thank you for creating an app that stays focused on what many of us actually want: a simple, effective way to manage our checking account without the complexity of large budgeting platforms.
Buggy
Keeps giving error msg of subscription expired. Apps is paid for and up to date. What used to be a solid reliable app is now frequently buggy

Recent Disappoinment...
I have had the app since Oct 2013, and was generally happy with it. Only needed the basic free version as I just wanted something instead of a paper cheque register. About 6 months ago, there were some great upgrades: remembered similar transactions, etc. THEN the most recent update about a month ago... I started noticing the difference. If I made a error or wanted to change an entry, it would only do so once it was back in the main list if I pressed & depressed the clear button! And if I had changed the date, it no longer moved the entry up or down. It just stayed there. Not a huge deal, but a little annoying. FINALLY, the last couple days, a few times when I deleted an item, I noticed the running balance of cleared items, was no longer correct, even though the item was no longer listed. And yesterday I was consistently $10,500 OVER, and I went back through every transaction since Oct 2013. Finally very frustrated, I deleted the whole app & thus ALL the information and reloaded the app. So last night, I restarted from scratch, entered my starting balance from July 1, 2015... and everything looked good. I entered in transactions until end of month, then I purposely deleted a $500 one and then re added it. Everything still balanced correctly... But when I woke this morning... It was $500 off and now it was UNDER $500. I cannot continue like this, so I will leave it a day, and if it doesn't magically correct, I will delete it permanently. Very sad :(
