Update is much better now.
Took me a while to get used to the new update but now I can see that it’s much better. It no longer deletes all my words. I really like the hints section that allows you to see how many words are left and the first few letters. Well thought out and much improved game play. Thank you.
Infuriating
I don’t actually want to download another app on my phone, so I’ve been trying to play the web-based game. But in recent days, it has been impossible. Whenever I try to play and hit buttons (letters or delete or enter, etc.), it won’t accept it but will instead open another tab for a Best Buy ad. I literally can’t play the game.
Fun but pay to win
The game is really fun and a good challenge but you need to get premium to pretty much do anything you can’t even play a puzzle from two weeks ago but like I said the rest of the game is really good

I've tried to subscribe countless times without success..I like the game but unfortunately there is no support available...sad
Some bugs but still great
Almost perfect BUT like other reviews said they really need to standardize the list of words for each day. Then there is a bug where you go to watch the ad for more hints, it starts, and then crashes to “ad unavailable” then it freezes the screen. Other than that, it’s really fun and the UI update looks really good.
Not improved
I loved doing this puzzle; seeing the total number of words to aim at & seeing how near I could get. It’s the same puzzle, but you can only see your points total, which, as far as I’m concerned, is a completely arbitrary number. I would have given 4 stars (maybe even 5) for the old version.

App was changed today. Letters are huge. I only see half of word I am putting in. It was much better before.
Good game
Good game. Want to upgrade to premium but cant for some reason. Imselect upgrade for 1 year and press enter then nothing happens. Imdomt know why.
Bad updates-Game no longer fun
I LOVED the previous version. I couldn’t wait to play it everyday. The updates you just made have ruined the game for me. So much so that I deleted the app and called it a day. The new version is harder to use and the letter board looks somewhat childish. I am truly disappointed with the updates and heartbroken that I no longer have my favorite game to play. The old version gets 5 stars, but sadly the new version only gets 1. ☹️

I loved this game my goal was to get fewer than 10 words left. Now with the update today I only seem to have the option of points which makes my play much les interesting. Is there a way to show total words again??
Hate the new app
I have enjoyed SpellBee for several years. I hate the new app and am actively looking for something to replace it. Why change something so drastically when it was working fine?!?!

New July 29 update with larger tiles is annoying since one had to scroll up and down so much. Also, your contact us link still doesn’t work.

You updated the app with a super large font it’s awful.
Bad Update
My wife and I have played daily for the past couple of years. My biggest issue with the update is it not showing how many words you have found vs how many total words, never have cared about points which is now all you see. Really bad decision to drop the word count, I would bet 90% of players use word count and you have disappointed that user base.
Bring back word count
Love playing this game daily. One note for the new update, please bring back being able to toggle between the word count and the points. Can’t seem to find this feature after the new update.
Deletes stats and words
Fun game but app randomly deleted my words during a day. It has also deleted my stats twice without any reason. Really frustrating.
Strange Dictionary
It will have you looking for the absolute most obscure words that even a standard dictionary doesn’t recognize. One word was “viii”. Looked it up since I didn’t know of any words that used the same letter three times in a row and turns out they accept Roman numerals. Other than that it’s pretty good though I have had it randomly erase all the words I had found a time or two.

Well executed with one problem
This is a fun game that my friends and family play together and compete on scores. It’s easy to share scores with each other, and even the word lists that we end up with. The main problem is the words are very inconsistent in what is acceptable and what is not. Oftentimes words from the previous day that we check on are not actual words. It would be great if the developer used a standardized dictionary, such as Merriam Webster. Even so, thank you for a great game!
Never saves your stats
Constantly deletes my progress for no reason. Erases my weekly records too
Good game but….
You will never ever get all the words without cheating because while some of the words may actually exist, there are words that have never been used by anyone ever in the history of time. Just be happy with reaching 50-80% each day
Getting smart
Need to improve my spelling, didn’t pay attention to it when I was small. This helps out a lot.
Hate the update
Played this game with my family for a year. Loved it. We hate the update. It’s slow. The word list is small. The hints change the game. Very disappointed. I think we are done with it. I want the old version back

Lack of hints/No answer availablility
This app would be so much better if the “hints” button with the 2-letter distribution was available, as it is on the web version. Also, it would be better if it gave the ability to reveal the answers at a certain point.
Needs some fixes
Fun game, but the daily stats don’t accurately save… sometimes they completely delete themselves. Also, many words in solutions are so obscure that it’s nearly impossible solve any daily puzzle without cheating. Hints would also be helpful.
Spelling Bee is educational and fun
I always learn new vocabulary terms, including terms unique to non-USA usage. It is enjoyable, stimulating and challenging!
New update terrible
July 29 update is terrible! First it no longer shows you how many words you need. It only shows points which is a giant change and not helpful. It want to know how many words I’m missing still. Next, if you want to watch an ad for more hints, the entire app freezes, and it says no ad available and you have to close the app and restart. The letter grid is too big and too slow and when you try a word there is a lag for whether or not there the word is valid. It hangs too long and stays in your way before you can type the next word. Please put the old version back. It was way way way better. I never understood how developers change apps without asking for some feedback first.
Roman Numerals?
I wish there were some guidelines in your rules about using Roman numerals. Some are acceptable (see June 26), but others are not. Obviously they must be at least 4 characters, but why is XCII accepted, but not CXII?
Vanished
I have been playing this for a couple of weeks when all of a sudden all my scores have just disappeared from the game. It’s really annoying that the game doesn’t show them anymore. Is it worth me carrying on playing when I loose all the scores???
Errors in the App
There are errors inside the app, which ignores correct spelling bee answers. This is verified by checking the YESTERDAY tab and reviewing the correct answers you have missed. Example, one correct answer would have been the word NOLL. The spelling bee answer was spelled NOLLL. Whoever input the solutions misspelled certain words. Making it difficult to get 100% win also not accepting the correct answer yet it shows up the next day YESTERDAY solutions/answers.

Why would you change the app so drastically??? It’s awful. You can’t see how many words you have gotten and still need. I only see the point total. Terrible decision to change.

Unreliable
I wanted a casual game play app for spelling/bee but this app constantly resets and I don’t mind it deletes the history the last game but I hate having to start all over again. Annoying.
Letters arent the same answer letters in web page answers.
Letters sonetimes aren’t the same letters that appear in NY Times answers website pages and Mashable and Bee Solver. It always was the same before! 😠😠Makes playing not fun. Letters used to mimic webpage and used to be the same same as in the game. Not learning as much. Game too hard to find all the words. Same as NY Times game except no subscription needed. losing interest when not able to see the day’s correct letters in answers on NY Times and Mashable. Fix this problem right away please. If not fixed will end in frustration and delete. So etimes posts game with pnly 2-3 answrs. Too short no fun. Automated games should be checked daily before posting.

My wife and I challenged each other daily in an 8 minute timed game. Until today it was easy to play, easy to see, and easy to see how many words were possible. The new changes are bad

The app dictionary doesn't include some modern words that it should and includes all kinds of smaller CRAZY words no one is barely familiar with and so how can you ever guess all the words?

Keeps losing my stats
Quite enjoy the game but every few weeks the app drops my previous results and even my progress part way through a game.
Limited Vocabulary
I was hoping for something more challenging than frustrating. So many verifiable words (no, not proper names or archaic phrases) come up as “not found”.
