What people like

What they complain about
- Free version is completely useless
- Price is too high for value
- App crashes and fails constantly
Really handy
I haven’t yet decided whether I need AudioPen long term, but in the week or so I’ve used it, I have found it seriously handy for drafting emails and dictating text messages. No matter what I decide going forward, I want to complement the thought and care put into this app and its onboarding by its creator. Top notch.
Unreliable
It misses huge parts of conversations. Unable for anything even remotely important.
Best of the bunch
There are a lot of similar transcription apps but AudioPen is the most polished and focused. It just needs Shortcuts and a watch app and it's 5*.
Not really helping
Well, now, it’s only my second day to use it, but I must admit all of its icons are very tiny, and you can barely see them. If there is any icon for helping to style and make your dictation for journaling look any more well polished, it fails at that, and all my dictation mistakes are still there just as if I was using my iPhone’s free “Notes” app. I am not sure if I’ll spring for the second month of this one. I might write it out for another day or two and see if there’s any help on the way. Otherwise, I’ll stop the monthly payments that I signed for.
Free option is way to restrictive
Title is self explanatory. 2mins is not nearly enough and also you lose the chance to append to notes… if you are not willing to spend 100€ don’t bother installing it
Super Useful
I can quickly capture those fleeting thoughts when not at my pc or laptop
Can’t log in
Useless: the first thing I have to do to do anything in the app is enter my email then put in a code from that email. Code never arrives no matter how many times I try. Can’t use the app at all
Updates have really slowed down
The app had great potential when it launched, but it seems that the developer has lost active interest. It has hardly added any new features for over a year.
A Premium for 15 minutes
I was astonished to find that, for the Prime service, at $100/yr, you can only capture 15 minutes of audio. That is a huge amount of money for that little of a product. Check literally any other transcription app. You’ll get 3x audio transcription capacity, all other features, and only pay $50/yr.
Superior voice transcription
I love this app. I've been a Prime member for nearly a year now. I don't use the app that much, but when I do, it comes in handy and it's perfect. Well worth it. Also, the developer has been incredibly productive over the last several months and has made some huge changes and improvements. I also love the Mac app. I love using it as a keyboard on the Mac app, and I'm thrilled that he added that function for the phone as well. I highly recommend you check out this app. It's way ahead of any app in the same category.
Didn’t work
I so wanted this to work but I tried it 3 times and it did nothing at all. Deleted.

Top notch tool with a dedicated developer
Luis is doing everything in his powers to make this app better and better; it’s absolutely working. A slick easy to use apps on my Mac and iPhone, a soon to be released windows version. The new talk to type keyboard. Bravo sir, Bravo!
Useless
There is nothing free, it actively pushes for people to pay for their pro version..nothing else. I downloaded it upon suggestion from a workshop ( probably paid by the company), I decided to trial the free version and then eventually move to the paid one if I liked it. The problem is the free version is useless, I made a 2 minutes voice note in plain english and it’s been 40 minutes saying “preparing transcription” and then it does nothing. Every time the phone locks or I receive a notification, it will stop and say “transcription failed, retry”. Complete waste of time. I am deleting my account and the app the second I finish this review. It clearly just pushes for paid version.
good but slow
I use it quite regularly and it is good, but not good at all for anything quick takes a long time to process. other than that I like it!
Incredible app for creatives and writers
I’ve been using this app consistently for over a year and it has aided me so much in my creative process. The ability to record and get a transcript so easily is game changing, but also the organization and ability to make it your own. I love it.
Awful
The app has such a bad experience and it breaks randomly
Easy and Accurate
At the push of a button AudioPen records, my thoughts, a transcribes them into easy to use text for multiple purposes. The AI built into the app can take your words and formats them into different themes as needed if you so choose to do so. It takes recording thoughts when a keyboard is not accessible to the next level and ramps up productivity by accurately taking my vocal comments and transcribing them and ready to paste format. It even gives you the opportunity to add specialized words into the data base.
Doesn’t work
Free version doesn’t work. Wasted time trying to use it
Thoughts on upgrades
It would be cool if you could include pictures in the notes, like a journal entry with a photo. Also if the entries bore not just the date, but also the time of day at which they were created. Loving the app, thanks!
Not a native app
This founder has a history of lying to their customers. This is not a native app and he create fake demand and raise prices. I’m one of those who bought it. Additionally he has a army of followers who retweeted his app but in reality it is mediocre. I highly recommend others to try apps like Oasis, Otter, Audio Writer, Voice notes app they are half price as this app and more ethical in terms what they do.
Effective and addictive
What sounded like a good idea has turned into something that I depend on every day. I love using this easy it’s accurate. It’s great to use and the iPhone and Mac apps are just fantastic
Fixed
All previous bugs are gone
Mr
This app is incredible. Look no further. I had tried many. It has all the features very intelligently.
