best voice note app ever
i’ve been using this app basically since it started about two years ago and it just keeps getting better it’s an essential part of my life and my workflow now I couldn’t do without it. Highly recommended and definitely don’t get one of those stupid pocket devices. That is a complete waste of money just get the Voicenotes app. It does the exact same thing on your already existing phone
Lost too many meeting notes
I have recorded a meeting so many times and the app never captured a word presumably because of glitch. It’s not worth the risk. Don’t use it.

Discussion
Doesn’t work for French
Great idea but unfortunately it didn’t work at all in French. Despite selecting “French” in Settings, the transcript was very far from what I said with both a mix of hallucinations and misunderstandings. I provided the same recordings to GPT and other platforms and they did much better! Lastly, there were also a few UI/UX bugs like buttons sometimes requiring multiple taps to actually do something.
Declined AutoRenew this Month; App Replaced
Replaced with SpeakWise, which optionally (no extra $) auto sends voice & transcribed notes, plus generated action lists, to Notion (free-tier account). No relation beyond thrilled customer. When I take the time to make a note, I expect to refer to it later. Over a full year, this app proved consistently unreliable. Found SpeakWise via Qwant search engine; Google never mentioned it. Saving $$, enjoying voice input via AirPods Pro 3; & “it just works!” unlike VoiceNotes.
Voice Notes is the $h!+
…of *numerous investments that I’ve made in the AI cloud software space! 💯💯💯 Voicenotes has been one of my things I come back too often. It’s great they’ve expanded the functionality they they’re amazing. It’s inexpensive and I will say the owner is very responsive. Additionally, there is one tiny bug nearby if I have an app open playing music and I go to Voicenotes to record. The music gets louder and nothing can be recorded into Voicenotes for some reason until I close the Music app. Sorry for that it’s amazing five stars.
Daily usage limit not enough for what I need.
The daily usage limits for iOS does not allow for eight one hour sessions per day.
A good app
I find this app useful. It captures the points and actions well. It’s better than ChatGPT for the same thing which is interesting because I imagine it uses ChatGPT for its AI. I’d like more communication about what’s in new features on the Mac as well as iPhone etc. There’s lots of features such as deleting audio automatically, mass deletion of notes, a single click for a summary, meeting points and actions. Recording calls on the iPhone (I may enter Teams via my phone) It has huge potential and is already very useful.
Unreliable
I found voice notes recording and transcribing really helpful - when it works. I have had previous issues with the liability of this app which seemed to have been addressed. I now note there was an update which has taken me almost back to square one; the last three voice notes transcriptions/recordings did not save. The first one I thought was down to my error turns out it wasn't! Meetings two and three on Thursday and Friday went through the transcript process, but didn't produce a transcript and more than that. The recording disappeared! Once again this app proves itself to be too unreliable not to have a backup and for me that backup is Otter.ai which is infinitely more reliable. And not having any backup to any recording, other than using another Notes app is ridiculous! Once again, contactable tech support - none existent.
Errors with upload
For the past few days, recordings haven't been uploading, and the app is starting to feel unreliable.
Best off it’s kind
Earlier review. See the last paragraph. For months this had been my go-to app for notes, meeting, etc. Finally, though, I grew irritated at having to remove my iPad from the keyboard to read or make entries. To use an iPad one must use it in portrait mode with a finger or pencil. It is best used for those who prefer to use it with an iPhone. I kept hoping for an update but am giving up. 03/19/26 A new version of this app has been released. I opened it today to find that I can now use it with my keyboard much more efficiently in portrait mode. Now, in my view, it is the best app of its kind. I’m update my rating stars to five.
Fundamental Reliability Problems
At the most fundamental level, a voice notes app needs to record and trust, once lost, is hard to gain back. In just two weeks of testing Voicenotes, I've lost approximately three hours of very important recordings. First incident (March 11, iPhone): I was recording a note that reached 54 minutes when I paused it. I checked back twice over the next 25 minutes and the paused recording was still there both times. When I went to resume it the third time (roughly 30mins after pausing), it had vanished completely. The company acknowledged this as an "edge case." Second incident (March 25, Mac laptop): I recorded a critical 2-hour meeting on my Mac laptop. The laptop remained on and active throughout. When the meeting ended, I pressed stop and clicked the arrow key in the Mac app (that takes you the dashboard/site). The recording disappeared and I couldn't find it anywhere. Apple Watch reliability issues: Recording on the Apple Watch never worked consistently. Recordings would stop abruptly and disappear into the ether. I didn't even report this because I gave up on that feature rather quickly. If one user can encounter two "edge cases" in about two weeks, this app is not for me. I can't trust an app that loses important content, especially when those conversations can't be recreated. Three hours of critical recordings is too much to lose. To potential users: If you're recording important content you can't afford to lose, I'd recommend testing thoroughly with non-critical recordings first, or considering more established alternatives. To the developer: The core functionality needs to be rock solid before adding features. Focus on ensuring recordings are reliably saved across all platforms. I'll be looking for other options.
iPad Orientation
Good app on phone and desktop but needs to fix iPad orientation to landscape as an option.
Wrong Wrong Wrong
Called my wife a HUSBAND instead of MY WIFE OR PARTNER OR FRIEND…. This has gender all wrong
Started great….then…
When I first purchased this app, I really enjoyed how it took great notes and provided different types of summaries. Then recently with a update, the app became slow and failed to upload meeting notes. Hope it gets better or I would prefer a refund.

Other apps are FAR superior
I’ve used this app several times all it does is record - it just spins as if I’m supposed to get something more. I’ve used Ottr and found it FAR superior. And this was recommend by a trusted course. Very disappointed.
Informed
Good understanding
Poor customer Service contact
I’ve been on a mission for two weeks to cancel my subscription and have found it nearly impossible. I’ve gone through the app, which says your subscription is through the website, and you must go to the website. When I go there, the buttons don’t do anything; you see a circle within the button, and then nothing. I’ve been stuck paying for a subscription I no longer want. I found three different support emails for this company, and as of this date, no one has replied. It’s obscene that I now have to go through my bank to stop payment.
Not free
They make you fill out this long questionnaire before they tell you it costs money. Might be good but just an fyi so you don’t waste your time if you’re looking for something free
Not able to handle long meetings
App crashes and can’t handle long meeting more than 10-15 mins My recordings are lost when it crashes with long meeting
Unreliable and hard to use
I really wanted to like this app, but it ended up being frustrating and unreliable. First, organizing notes is a mess. There’s no clear or effective way to categorize recordings, separate meetings, or keep projects distinct. If you record frequently, everything quickly turns into an unmanageable pile. The meeting summary and output features sound great in theory, but they don’t consistently work. I’ve had recordings sit there indefinitely without generating a summary. In one case, I had to wait until the next day and try again — and because of that delay, I ended up paying for an extra week of the subscription just to access notes that should have been available earlier. Exporting is another major pain point. There’s no bulk export option, so you have to download files one by one. On top of that, the file formats are inconsistent — some export as MP3, others as M4A — which creates extra work if you need them in a uniform format. Transcription is also unreliable. The app claims to auto-generate transcripts, but sometimes timestamps are included and sometimes they aren’t. For meeting notes and professional use, timestamps are pretty standard and often necessary, so this inconsistency makes the transcripts less useful. Overall, the app has promising ideas but poor execution. Between the organizational issues, unreliable summaries, inconsistent exports, and unpredictable transcripts, it just wasn’t worth the subscription. I canceled.
When it's good, it's great, but….
Recording and transcription are very good when they work. I was pretty impressed with the flipping between languages in the same discussion. However, if the uploading gets stuck, which it has twice, that's it, and that meeting is lost. I have been waiting since February for one conversation to be transcribed. Unfortunately, the support is slow and not as helpful as I was expecting. I'd say 3.5 out of 5 if that were available.
Overpriced
meeting notes switched languages half way through - one meeting I recorded didn’t record- it was nearly £80 for a years subscription, and the free Apple voice note app is just as good.

On my first Apple Watch it failed right away
I just installed it and tried it then it failed the very first time I tried to record from my watch. This is hard to buy if it can’t work. Sad because it seems perfect for me with all the other features
Enjoying this!
Great for those of us without the best memory. Puts my mind at ease when at meetings.
No iOS calendar integration
Most of my notes relate to meetings and appointments. This app will only integrate with Google or Microsoft calendars. I use the native calendar app on my Apple devices. This is a big disappointment. I’ll watch for future seamless integration.
Apple Watch problem
I’d like it for Siri to respond to a request for this on my Apple Watch. If I say Siri take a Voice Note she just opens messages, I also can’t add a widget for it to the quick widgets you get if you flick up from the watch face. So to use it from my watch I have to scroll through all the apps because it begins with V and is right at the bottom.

Ok
I watch not supported anymore
I have a yearly subscription and I loved it because I can use my phone AND watch but recently it’s off my watch and your update to your app has all of a sudden made it unavailable on my watch…if that’s the case can I get a refund for the portion I did not use or please reach out and let me know solution
Great app for clarifying thoughts
I use this whenever I have a thought about a subject. I ramble on and let the app do the work of clarification. I read my thoughts and reiterate them after going through the Voicenotes. Super helpful.
Very disappointed
I loved this app at first. I tried multiple AI note apps for their free trials and actually paid the annual price for this one. Since doing that it takes more than an hour to get a meeting summary all of a sudden. And it’s now been 3 hours since my last meeting that is still processing. Unfortunately I can’t cancel since I paid for a full YEAR. But I will definitely not be renewing.
Dates?
It’s gaslighting me telling me my first note is on November 7th. Today is the 6th at 11pm on the east coast. Do you have a UTC conversion problem? You should fix it.

Impossible to stop charges.
The app works fine, but I’ve been trying to cancel paid subscription for a few weeks. Contacted support several times. No success. They keep charging me weekly. Terrible service.
Good app
Will give one more star once you use integrations. Something like ability to set reminders or send data to notion.
Awful
Let’s get started….well that would be nice but I got trapped in a loop of the same questions, stuck and couldn’t reach the sign up page. Deleted
I keep missing recordings
I love the app but on few occasions I’ve lost major recordings. I paused and lost a whole hour of recording. And I tried it on my Apple Watch and lost the recording too. This is so sad because I like this app but I’ll be looking for an alternative soon.

Didn’t even record
Tried the app. Didn’t even record the meeting. Used free version, you’ll need to pay to use it. Not worth it without know ing if it works or not.
Need iPad HD version
Good app! But if we cloud have iPad version event better!
Contacted sachin and never replied back
I have contacted sachin team voice notes and he never replied shame on this kind of unprofessional representatives
It’s good when it works
I feel like for every five voice note at least one doesn’t get uploaded or is not recognized or something is wrong.
Perfect
So good!
This is not it
Well this is garbage. I made my first voice note recapping an earlier meeting today. After viewing meeting summary it added all kinds of hashtags and asterisks behind odd places and bullet points. I looked at the “Welcome to Voicenotes” sample they had posted and the same odd hashtags. What’s the point of this app if you have to clean up behind it.
Add Face ID lock feature in the app
Please add Face ID lock feature so that only I can access my notes
No search function
Decent app but there’s no search function. I cannot search my transcriptions for words. This has got to be added soon. Would make the app more useful. What’s the point of AI if I have to manually search for my notes? While there is a search bar - it doesn’t work.
File transfer
What happened to being able to transfer an audio file to the app? Working great so far but only with voice notes I record in the app.
