Designed to be dull
Starbrew is carefully engineered to force you to pay to play. By the time you are at level 30, $8 will get you ten minutes of play time, and it will often take more than one payment before you hit a reward. It’s too bad because it started out fun - still had to watch a lot of ads each day in order to play for a solid period of time, but the pace was enough to keep it interesting. Unfortunately, it quickly became impossible to play for any solid period without spending money and it only got worse and worse and worse each day. Imagine being a game developer and designing your game to get less fun for the people who keep playing it? Madness.
I really want to love this game…
I love everything about this game except it shuts down repeatedly. It is so frustrating. After the third time it just closes itself I usually just give up for the night. I wanted this to be a relaxing way to unwind at the end of the day but I find it just irritates me to the point of quitting.
Great game!
I love this game so much, it’s cute, good story, fun and there’s no ads unless you want to watch them for rewards! My only problem with the game is that you can’t go back and reread dialogue. There’s been a few times where I accidentally skipped it and was disappointed that I couldn’t read it again.
Constant crashing
Update - Like many others app crashes on iPad at opening screen. No way to report an issue. How long until they fix this. I love this game which is why I’m still playing. On my 9th generation iPad using iOS 26 it constantly crashes. Every 5 minutes or so. Please fix. Also, there is no other way to report a problem that I could find. App support is just a legal page.
Fun and cozy match
I saw this promoted on Instagram and thought I’d give it a try. I like the look and story line which are more than the usual match game, but not as overwhelming as mobile RPGs. The customization is fun and the ads are minimal. I do wish the friend interface allowed for more interaction than just gifting but that may be a big ask.
Sadly, deleted after over a year of playing
I played for over a year before finally deleting it. The events got to the point where they were pretty much impossible to complete, even if I logged in several times a day and spent money on packages. It just started feeling like a cash grab. I also wish there was a way to go back and reread the story. I asked the developers about that a while back, and they said they were "considering" it. Sad, because I loved the story
Fun but cards are pointless
The Crystal balls you receive to collect cards are pointless. You’ll get a bunch of cards in the beginning then they just stop. You’ll never get new ones again. Very annoying.

Constantly crashing after update
I have been playing the 6 months and have been truly enjoying the game, however after the recent update the game has been constantly crashing. I was able to get a ticket in before the game was completely unplayable 5 days ago, but have gotten no response.
Not that bad????
I like to randomly download mobile games from ads I get just to what will happen for the fun of it. When I saw this one pop up talking about wanting to being back how older mobile games felt I knew I had to give it a try. So far I’ve been pleasantly surprised! The writing is cringy and fun, the art is very simplistic and cute and the overall mystery really just makes me want to play more. For the actual game part of it it’s super easy to get gems which makes getting more stamina really easy too! I always hated having to wait a long time to keep playing a game. Having a forced wait tile always sicks the joy out of games for me especially mobile ones. So this was honestly really nice! I just wish I was able to decorate the cafe
loved this game but…
when i first downloaded this game i loved the cosy aspect- however the higher levels i get, the more i think … whats the point in playing? spending energy to do the bare minimum and then immediately wanting to buy more so you can actually play the game- or wait a couple of hours for energy to be full again. theres also the fact that to get anywhere with actually making anything, you want to turn on the “boost” which means you have to spend double the amount of energy in one go. also the fact that the “rewards” arent really rewards and any of the challenges are soo hard to do. also! when creating the orders for “friends” to get the gifts, i seem to be just making the same 3 things on a loop over and over again which is just boring to be honest. on the verge of deleting, feel like the developers of this game have clocked out and would prefer to just hope that people will spend their money on the game without them having to bother making it interesting oh well
Need to update faster
I loved this game..but I guess I have caught up to the highest level..now I have to wait for weeks until the newest update..unfortunately the last update keeps crashing..so time to delete
A Truly Magical Game!
Off the bat, This game has stunning visuals. Many merge games don’t compare to this one where it actually feels well developed of a game, but still easy for a casual gamer like me. And the storyline is so unique and funny— the jabs at the writers always leave me giggling. Ashamed/Not Ashamed to say I’ve probably spent a couple hundred dollars on this game being impatient to follow the storyline— it’s just sooo good!!! Also, as an aly, so tickled to see all the queer representation in this game. I played this game wayy back in 2021 around pandemic era, and recently picked it up again. I’m at level 109, which is pretty high comparatively. Just goes to show how much I love this game. I want Cain and Harriet to have their happy ending!!!!
Unplayable game
This game was super fun when it was playable. Now it crashes every 5 seconds. Have submitted two tickets and zero response from the developers or bug fix. It would be 5 stars if they would fix it!

Fun until it’s not.
It was a lot of fun at first, but after playing the game for a while it kind of feels unusable without paying real money. At a certain point the 100 energy you have is not nearly enough to make any progress in the game. It’s very unfortunate as I have been playing for a while but the experience just isn’t good anymore.
Plot becomes weirder
It’s a good game that people can play fully for free if waiting a few hours between energy refills is manageable. The aesthetic of the game and the overall vibe are great too. One thing I have more complaints about is actually regarding the plot line, which is the reason why I kept playing until level 27. It became bizarre ever since all of a sudden the siren lady and the ghost boy (who supposedly have a crush on the MC for quite a few chapters) got together, then the siren lady’s friendship with the MC just soured. Pretty much since that chapter, then it’s these two broke up all the sudden, MC thought two characters are her true love but ending up being pushed out to the farm by her auntie after finally able to get the cafe running from the ruin in the early beginning of this game, and not remotely graceful transition too, then it’s that public service lady who suddenly shows up and start to claim MC is jerk and it was her idea but the auntie stole it? (What the heck, please. Like it makes the plot of the auntie taste really bad). Not sure why but overall this weird plot line development just really spoiled the game’s vibe for me. I’m not really looking forward to learn more about the plot anymore, which is, sad and feels like, yeah, the MC is actually being used and pushed around to serve other characters’ needs in there, weirdly like what they eluded in a previous chapter that supposedly was a overstatement and showing the MC was being over sensitive because tired and things happened around that time. So the arc of the personality development of MC now is meshed into drama and friendship broken and repaired again.
best merge game
i rarely rate apps or review them unless i have really negative or really positive experience and starbrew has definitely been the latter! a game you can actually enjoy without spending money but i honestly don't mind buying a pack here or there when im able due to the wonderful art in addition to the colorful cast (literally and figuratively). you genuinely grow to care abt the characters and not even mind the shark jumping because you're here for the edgy old but somehow still human vampire with her type a people pleaser with god like abilities and their friends that all play with tropes you expect and don't with some unexpected depth! truly a lovely blend of a mindless merge and a story i can tell real people wrote. i can't recommend this enough and also can't wait for new chapters 😸❤️

Cant edit my previous review. Seems older devices Cant really run this. It was working but now has an error. Uninstalled, restarted and reinstalled, no change. Oh well lol
After playing for a few years…
This is an incredibly cute, playfully entertaining game that I’ve been playing regularly for years at this point. There’s a whole wonderful little cast of characters and you can tell the writers are fond of each and every one. The depth of the writing isn’t going to knock your socks off—the villains are two dimensional and a fair amount of the plot parodies influences from pop culture video games, shows and movies. That being said, I can’t help but appreciate the game for what it is, and what it is is a lot of fun. My only gripe with it is that no matter how much time you put into it, you will never unlock the majority of the challenges without spending money. I can’t afford to spend money on this game, no matter how much I enjoy it. I wish your accomplishment was more so tied to the effort you put in rather than the money you spend, but I guess that’s just life. Still a lot of fun.
Energy depletes overnight
I accumulated 450+ energy by fixing memories and opening chests, I turned the game off overnight and woke up to it being reduced to 100 energy. Energy can be hard to get and they charge for extra when you run out. it seems awful that if you obtain it naturally they still take it away. Otherwise it’s fun and cute but this made me no longer want to play.
Crashing
I used to play this game all the time, waiting for the new update for the new story. And now I can't open the game without it crashing every time.
Supports Artists!
I love this game! Admittedly I drop money on it more than I should, but you really don’t have to. My favourite aspect is the art pieces you collect for rewards, and how they credit and support each artist. In a world of AI slop it is so refreshing! Second favourite aspect is character customisation. So much to choose from and collect! The plot is silly and fun while still being engaging and feeling like it has stakes. Love the characters and their personal development is really cool to see. My only complaint is that Starla wears her work uniform 100% of the time. But that’s hardly a deal breaker, just kind of ridiculous lol. Favourite merge game hands down for sure.
Another Disappointing Game
Yet another amateurish game in the App Store. I was falling in love with it and really excited to have found a great game. Then I looked in the in-game shop and it has all these great prizes you can get by watching ads, except none if the ads will okay. It just says “error” , so now I can’t get the free prizes. That’s a really slimy way of getting people to spend money. Either that or the developers dint know how to code a game. Either way, I deleted it. I am so tired of all these shovelware games being thrown onto the App Store by developers who are only out fur a quick buck and don’t actually care enough about the fanes they make to pay attention to details.

Great Game
Wonderful game - I’ve been playing for years and the design team consistently updates with new story, merge machines, and events. Never fails to entertain and it’s always nice to support an indie developer that doesn’t rely on AI and supports small artists.

more customization
i love this game! it’s so fun! although i wish you could make your character more personable to you! as i have pink hair and i’m unable to make my character have pink hair! i do enjoy the fact that you have to get your clothes through events though! it gives it challenge and something to work towards, only thing is that i wish there were more color options, for hair, for eyes, for clothes, etc.
Not great
After playing for awhile the energy runs out and it starts to become a cash grab. There is a time limit on literally everything which you can only remove by using gems (which you have to pay for when the little amount you have run out) or watching an ad, when you’ve watched a certain amount of ads you then loose the option and HAVE to use gems which again you have to buy. I know it’s a free game but I’m not against watching ads, removing them after awhile is the biggest problem for me.
Could be better
I have been playing this game for a few months I believe and at the start it’s really fun and super easy to progress and level up within the game however after a certain amount of time the producers of things have to be made from other producers and then they run out after a certain amount of time and so it uses up all of your energy because you’re having to constantly re-create the producers to then use your energy on the producers to serve a customer and the amount the customer pays will be something silly like 40 coins when I’ve just used over 100 energy just trying to get that one item. Makes the game boring to play after a while as you can’t really get anywhere with it 🤷🏻♀️
MY FAVORITE GAME EVER
I absolutely ADORE this game and I’m in love with the characters. It’s my number one daily game and I just can’t get enough! Amaaaazing representation and character development!
Ripped off
I just opened two crystal balls that were guaranteed to contain a new fragment, and neither one had anything. I worked long and hard to get these. I can’t tell you how disappointed I am in this game.
Fun
It’s a fun game. The only thing that annoys me is when you get the greenhouse. My board is OVER run the veggie garden! Trying to get a butterfly to merge from the greenhouse is crazy long. I can’t do anything else on my board because of the veggie gardens!
Amazing story and game
I really love the game, nice 5 minutes to relax everyday, and the story mode is so good! But these past updates have been making the game randomly get so slow I cant even play, which really sucks. I am dropping this game because of this, it ain’t fun opening it and not being able to play.
Decent game, just annoying at times
I’ve been playing this game for a few months now, it’s relatively entertaining, and the story is interesting. However as you progress, more producers become finite, and you waste a lot of energy to remerge your producers. The inflation ingame also makes it far harder to scrape the higher coin level progressions with customers paying very low for high merge quantity items. The grid constraints also don’t align with producer storage unlocks as you level up, but ultimately all free games have limitations.
Absolutely LOVE!
I’ve seen ads about this game for awhile now, I never really pay attention to them or whatever and after the 20th time seeing this game in an ad i figured I’d see what it was about because it looked cute… AND OMG! I’m glad I did because now I can’t get off and I love it! The characters and mechanics and the storytelling! It’s cute and there’s funny moments that make everything come together! 100 STARS!!

too many glitches
whenever I open the game the clouds from the beginning cover the area and I have to open the merge table and shut it so the clouds vanish. the characters move around the room they glitch and vanish and re-appear where they need to be or the game freezes for a few moments. on the merge table sometimes when I try to merge things they just move on the table and swap places with the item I want to merge together. the shop when I open it sometimes only shows featured deals and gems and other times it shows me the entire shop with daily deals etc. not being able to play without WiFi or data
Cute game, not a fan of Starla
Yeah, the game’s fun and the world is interesting, but Starla is absolutely infuriating to watch fumble her way through the world. The whole romance plot line is messier than a pot-a-potty after a tornado. It’s unsatisfying and I do not care about any of the people Starla is romantically interested in. The only character that I really-REALLY care about is Hayden; he’s hilarious and there’s a hint of humanity under his demonic surface. HE should have been the love interest, there’s so many interesting directions to take that idea! Anyway, if you ever make a spinoff game, perhaps a dating simulator, please make Hayden in there a ton more🩷 (if it’s a dating sim, please make him a love interest 👋🩷)
incredible
this is hands down the best merge game i've ever come across. it has a complex, unique and interesting storyline, it's so addicting, has absolutely no forced ads, has a beautiful art style (where artists are credited), is lgbtqia+ inclusive, gives plenty of opportunities to get more energy, has plenty of events to earn energy... and so much more. the characters i've memorized by name and are so interesting and fun, this game is really so good. i love this story, i'm on level 61 and i'm so excited to keep playing this. recommend this to everyone. every merge game is the same, this stands out. love it so much.
Designed to make you mad
Game is decent but they need to seriously tweak it to optimize for player experience. Certain generators are way skewed when it comes to the type of goods they produce over others. Expert’s conservatory for example creates both butterflies and garden boxes. Tell me why I have 13 garden boxes (maxed out) on my board when all the requests are for butterflies. Give me butterflies goddamnit. Literally maddening so I quit.
Crazy protagonist
This game is great, it has a simple concept it effectively demonstrates it. The story is also really interesting however, this is the most infuriating protagonist ever. She does a lot of beating around the bush which makes sense as you fix the land but the end results aren’t satisfying story-wise. I would never in a million years fumble as bad as she does… I’m also on a special event with puzzle pieces and whats the point of getting the same puzzle pieces? It just seems like a way to make it harder to obtain a reward…but giving extra energy or gems just a few seems like a better alternative to getting the same pieces again.
