Love it
Hello, I am sincerely happy that you brought this app to us. I use to always search for content on line with no luck sometimes after having watched most of what was out there. You brought me so many new recordings. I have one suggestion! Please show us which of the videos we have played and which are unplayed. Thank you
No queue. No easy way to see what is played or unplayed.
The only functionality that shows played versus unplayed is buried within a submenu of each episode. It’s frustrating. I can’t tell what I’ve listened to or missed. This is basic functionality of any good podcast app. I agree with many other negative reviews. It is unethical to charge a subscription when there will never be new content aside from the occasional In the Way episode, which are all free. It’s a greedy pricing model for a mediocre experience. You can listen to almost all of this on YouTube for free.
Player/Playlist could be better
Alan Watts is the best and having access to his records is amazing. The app is a bit cookie cutter diy video player vibes, but could be drastically improved with a nice playlist and current playing interface, where you could manage downloads, choose sound only, continuous playback, shuffle, etc.
Change it back!
I am very disappointed with the upgrade of this app. The colourised television series which I very much enjoyed and watched regularly has been removed. It also now only plays one talk at a time and does not automatically play the next one in the series. There is no way to make your own favourites playlist. The app stops working when my phone lock is on so bedtime listening has stopped now. There is so much less on this new app than before and I no longer find it user friendly. Not worth my £4.99 per month if I can’t use it as I need to. Very disappointing and upsetting as it was a lifeline for me 😢
No Customer Support?
I love Alan Watts and really enjoyed the app until they made the update a few months ago. Had issues regaining access to my account so I emailed them and reached out on social media and never received a reply. I would have gladly renewed my yearly subscription if somebody would’ve helped me.
Very well done app
So glad I downloaded this. It’s nice to get genuine Alan Watts talks and not all the AI nonsense on other platforms. Happy to pay as long as the talks keep coming. Would love to see video someday.
Rip off.
In 2023 I paid $34.99 for the Alan Watts essentials lectures. Now no longer available. So where is the content I paid for already? Now $49.99/year? For what? Blood suckers, it’s not like Alan is creating new content.
Nice app
Love listening to Alan Watts! App could be more intuitive but otherwise no complaints.
Wonderful content - confusing app
The content is amazing, but how do you Favorite or Download a talk? I did discover that I can Favorite a talk on the website, but I see no way to do that in the app. In Library > Downloads it says to click the Download Icon to download a track. Where is the icon? Support never replied to me.
Amazing collection
I am so happy with the most recent updates! Being able to download favorites and keep track of the recordings. I have already listened to is absolutely amazing! I also just noticed that in the “library“ section you can see which recordings you listened to on certain dates. There is so much content, so it used to be easy to get confused about what you’ve listened to and coming back to what you really like. I also live in a small country town with very little cell phone reception, so it’s really nice to be able to download episodes before I go on a drive or a walk when I want to listen to these. Now, in the age of AI, it’s becoming more and more difficult to find genuine Alan Wats content online, so it feels good to know that these are all genuine recordings of his original content, thank you!
Ripped off
Bought this app years ago for $100 and they said I would always have access now they have gone to a subscription
Subscription…
… I’m sure Watts would have something to say about requiring £5 a month to absorb his musings. I understand that this will help in the preservation of his work, but this cost is highly limiting of access to one of the most beautiful minds of our age. I hope the organisation considers a different approach in the future.
So happy its here
Pleasure to support this, guaranteed non-AI Alan Watts. The only wish I have is improved search and bookmarks. Eg it would be great to search by summary - it can be hard to find the right talk.
Material is great, new app not ready for prime time
I asked for help on the app and it sends me to a company that no longer supports the app. I was supposed to auto renew but things on the app are locked and I have nothing saying the payment did not go through.
Fantastic app!
I love this app. It’s fantastic having all of Alan Watts’s talks, lectures, shows, etc. in one place. They’ve done a marvelous job. I only wish that they had an annual plan.
No option for those who previously bought the whole collection.
Another reviewer made a similar remark, but I wanted to say the same thing. I purchased the complete set in August of 2020 and no longer have any access to it. This is rather upsetting. I do see it’s a different app developer, but if there was some complications with copyrights, please clarify. The logo looks similar to the old collection, so I am assuming it is still the same owner. Bummer it is locked behind a subscription service.
Original content!
Love original, non AI generated content from a trusted source.
WHAT HAPPENED TO WHAT I PAID FOR?
Back in 2014 I paid for the Premium Bundle of Alan Watts Essential Lectures and was sold to me as a lifetime purchase. Now you remove it from the App Store and put everything behind a paywall?
Calms the Mind
Very useful during turbulent times. When I feel anxious, the voice and message of Alan Watts is very comforting.
Thank you Alan Watts
What a man, what a sage, what a legend. And all his teachings in one place.
Alan Watts
This is is the most entertaining, enthralling, and expansive speaker on Buddhism from the 20th century. His quips, monologues, courses, and interpretations are deeply moving and memorable. Join Alan Watts in the eternal now.
Love this app
Really fantastic job with wide range of talks and beautifully accessible app. Enjoying very much!
