Quality material and Production
I have done several courses online with sounds true. I have found audiobooks that have changed my life. Some of the things I learned here I can still practice in my relationship in ways that bring us connected and growing together. In particular the courses and books with Garbor Mate and Dick Zwarts are profound, accessible and practically useful. The app works well and the marketing is clean and accurate.
Membership
The membership has been renewing… it took me several years to realize I have been paying a lot of money for something I never renewed. I think this policy is very smart but preys on people like me who did not realize they had been renewing a membership they haven’t even been using.
I love Sounds True. The app will not rotate.
What a shame that I cane only enjoy it in slightly akward positions.
No support
Content is good, if you cancel subscription it cancels immediately. No receipt. No support.
What happened? Where are we going?
I had to change my rating. I’ve been a loyal customer of ST for a long time, and was even a founding member of this membership, and I remember being on a customer panel to provide feedback and ideas before this app came out. In the years since, they haven’t done much with it except fix some bug issues and player problems. Now with Sounds True offloading all their book and audio publishing to MacMillan, there hasn’t really been any push to make this app better. I understand Sounds True is now focusing on pure digital direct to consumer products like courses and live online events, but they haven’t really beefed up this membership or app, except funneling customers into a membership when they purchase an online course. Live morning and evening classes have been gone for a while. Book clubs and community discussions with other members have been gone. Live events or specials still direct you to a Zoom link, which feels insulting after paying for this app/membership. The community page still doesn’t allow us to talk to each other as members, just post responses to questions. The premium content series are still great if you are new to them, but slowly released for members who have been around awhile. If the company is focusing more on digital spaces, we need a more updated, interactive app. We should be able to access everything Sounds True offers through the app, and stay within that app. There should be interaction with the members. Customer support is nonexistent except for the one sole agent I’ve spoken to over the last year, who seems more like a contractor than someone who works for Sounds True, or has any deep connection to the brand. Hopefully the customer base is still there. I want to see Sounds True thrive for at least 5-10 more years. Maybe it’s time to start contacting your customer panels again? I can’t be the only one left…

I have been inspired by Tami Simon and Sounds True for all the knowledge and joy of learning I have received from Sounds True in listening to the podcast and books. Thanks for helping me and the world. I enjoy the speakers and all the programs.
Cannot access purchased courses via app
The courses I purchased are now only accessible via the Sound True app, not their website, and now the Michael Singer course that I purchased is no longer appearing in the app. I am also getting error codes for other purchases I made that are only available through Sounds True. Save your money. This company used to be a favorite of mine. Now, it is only a frustrating time suck and a waste of too much of my money.

Yep, Complaints About App True
Bought an online course then spent a lot of time trying to access it. Could not access via Safari browser on iPad, so was forced to get app which took multiple tries to download on iPad. App is not intuitive and, after finally accessing the course, repeatedly stopped and asked to sign in. Then it rejected my password and prompted me to reset it. Oddly, content found its way to my browser where I was able to play without disruption. In the meantime, erroneously subscribed to membership and had to contact customer support to cancel because only option on the app was to “pause” the subscription. I feel like Sounds True is a karmic exercise testing my ability to detach from feelings of frustration. 😅
My $6700 Mistake
RUN away from this company, who like so many other “spiritual” institutions, places their financial enrichment over integrity and transparency. I signed up for the MMTCP course, believing their advertisement that the course is flexible and that each month I would be able to choose the best mentor and group session times for my schedules. After all, their own FAQ stated: “You will select a group based on the day/time that will work for you on a monthly basis. Participants come from all over the world, so calls will be offered at many times throughout the day in several different time zones.” As a ship worker, this flexibility worked great for my schedule and I paid the $6700 for the two year course. It was only as the program began, MONTHS after the refund deadline, that I learned the true structure of the course and attendance policy- two fixed monthly meetings, set for the same days of week time monthly for the next two years. Anxiety crept in as I know in my heart this could never work for my schedule. I spent the time in my first mentor session voicing my concerns, and even my mentor suggested I try reaching out for a refund. SURELY the people who offer teachings of compassion would have some kind of kindness for this terrible misunderstanding and be able to make it right? NOPE — After pleading my case and 10 days of agonizing waiting for an answer, I was told that “after careful consideration, I’m sorry to share that it does not meet the criteria for a refund as outlined in our policy.” (The policy which NEVER outlined the attendance or structure of the program.) They were happy to wish my on my “journey”, keeping every penny of my $6800. I was heartbroken, outraged, and disillusioned. One of my greatest fears in signing up for anything from “Sounds True” is that is would “sound” true but be fake, and that I would fall for it, but it would turn out to be yet another capitalistic institution taking advantage of seekers. After going through this experience I see the company places their trust and backing in a policy that values their personal financial entitlement over transparency and integrity. No matter how much compassion or loving kindness is taught or practiced in isolation, the lack of willingness to put it into action where it really counts, financially and in transparency of the program structure, is wrong. It’s decisions like this that perpetuate the paradigm of high control groups taking advantage of seekers and keep students under the boot of control. As an artist who has been taken advantage of by educational groups in the past, it’s infuriating and deeply sorrowful to experience being caught in this kind of entrapment again. Run.
Weird restrictions and confusing
Honestly kinda confusing to navigate and has annoying features like not being able to play content when the phone is locked makes it way more impractical than just being able to download the files
Frustration
Very difficult to find the app, get it open and get on with the course. I have to go in thru the website.
Love the content, but app has shortcomings
I like the content a lot. However, I am missing a report function for videos that cannot be watched out of unknown reasons. What is more, I cannot watch the videos in a smaller window on the screen while using other apps. Bodie seems to be a nice gadget but it lacks a normal search function in my view, so I get shown an overview of options from which I can pick myself rather than only one option.
Not happy
I don’t find it overly user friendly. Paid for a story but having difficulty downloading the files. The directions don’t seem to apply.
No reliable customer support
Over and over again two programs I purchased and paid for which amounted to almost $500.00 have been “fixed” and “not fixed” multiple times. I was able to finally receive a refund for the last course purchased and a fix for the prior one. I will upgrade my prior one star.
Wonderful from the first listen!
I loved Tami Simon before…but now? She’s the most delightful, beautiful human. And the gift of her work…priceless. Loving every minute I get to spend with Sounds True One.
Terrible customer service
The videos will not play for some reason. Did all the suggested trouble shooting but no solution found. I then asked for a refund but they ignored the request. I’ve paid for two months without being able to use the app. Extra disappointing from this company, who would seem more concerned with ethical conduct.
This is my anchor
As I develop my own spirituality and meditation practice, sounds true one has been an anchor for me. As I find my practice I can dive deep into different modalities and meditations to guide me. There are also wonderful programs that deepen your spirituality practice. I highly recommend!
app isn’t working good and must be improved
Good topic and stuff but damn this app is not good. Sorry. To be transferred out of the app to my browser when I want to listen the conference on mp4 all the time without keeping track of where I was when I left and strat the hole path again to find where I was.. Very alienating.

Not what it used to be
Purchased a course and it was empty. Customer service was ai. Over a week emailing without help. Not until I reached out to my bank did they respond and they still have not been able to give me access to the monthly subscription I was charged for nor the empty course. Great content, horrible customer service and tech support.
Frustrating user experience all around
Can’t listen to your purchases if your phone auto locks so don’t bother if you’re listening on your commute. Trying to access your library on the website is impossible as well because it doesn’t populate the page when selected. I honestly regret not buying the book I’m listening to on Audible because the UX is horrendous. I only give it 2 stars because the book (No Bad Parts by Richard Schwartz) is really good.
I feel like I was to unsubscribe because of the app
This app has messed up my earbud sound for any app, I think I have to unpair them and repair them. You can’t watch/listen to something out of the app, listening to something even Picture in Picture closes when you try to do something else in your phone and it’s hard to find your place on what you were watching. I’ve paid for this subscription for more than a year but hardly use because the app is bad and I forget about the things I sign up for. Maybe push notifications would be better than emails. I guess it wasn’t meant to be. Sad because I signed up right in the beginning and I kept it to keep the discounted price but I’ve wasted my money because I haven’t used it. I thought it was neat to listen to live classes but never got to any.

Everything I need is here when I need it. On the go, I can access my breathing practices in the click of a button to unwind.

Audio doesn’t play when iPhone screen locks
Audio doesn’t continue playing when the iPhone screen locks—makes it nearly impossible to use. Everything else is great, but I’ll be deleting until that glitch is fixed.
Content is amazing. App is problematic.

The sounds true one community is truly special. It’s been so great to be here from the launch of the app and watch as a community has grown together through a collective journey. Can’t wait to see what’s to come with this app.

Must keep app open to listen
App stops playing audio unless open, making it unusable for me. Can’t rely on backup option of mobile web either as it’s no longer accessible and redirects to the app. Please add the ability to continue listening in the background when switching to other apps or screen is off, like other meditation, audiobook, audio content apps.

GREAT RESOURCE
I have been using Sounds True for quite sometime. So many inspiring teachers. I still find it difficult to navigate the app and find courses I signed up to. I’M not great at using computers but I’m so grateful to have such a wonderful resource, it has helped me through a lot of difficult times. Thank you Tami and all your team for bringing light and love to so many people.
Not functional
I want to access the courses in my library and it is not possible. Every time you open one, it opens safari, then tries to take me onto Thinkific app. The problem is there is no course or company to choose on Thinkific so that I can access my content. There is no information anywhere about the migration to Thinkific or how to access it on tablet or mobile. This makes all the content I purchases completely unusable
Update ASAP
I can’t listen to my course when my phone locks, the sound goes away and there’s no way to listen. It feels like this negates the point of having a mobile app. I’m going to have to change the setting on my phone to leave my phone unlocked 100% of the time, which is going to completely drain my battery. I absolutely love the course that I’m listening to through this app, but this feature makes it feel pointless to even have the app. I’d rather go back and listen to the browser where I don’t need to have my phone unlocked 100% of the time.
The "end of chapter" function does not work
The "end of chapter" function does not work. The audio book will be played to the end. Perhaps you can report this to the app developer and fix the problem.
Love Sounds True
I genuinely love Sounds True. Tami Simon holds the space with such authenticity. Although I rarely have time or remember to tune into the live sessions I listen to the recordings regularly. I have learned so much indeed I would go as far as to say that some of the thought-provoking ideas and wisdom. I have been introduced to have been life changing. Well worth the monthly fee for me. With gratitude.
Cannot get to my paid courses
They changed the platform and now it is not able to be used on my phone. Need to use website which is super inconvenient and can use it unless at home. Wasn’t always like that. Update: same experience as Horrible had. I Except after multiple attempts, I finally got in on my computer.
Can’t listen to library content unless the app is fully open?
It appears as though the only way I can listen to my library of talks that I have purchased if the app is open?
Works well, but cannot play in the background
I use this app to read a book. That works well. Nice table of contents, good quality audio, good user experience. The challenge is that the app stops playing the audio once the phone is locked or the app is switched. In other words, it cannot work in the background. This reminds me of the iPhone in the old days. Apple has allowed background audio for a long time. Please implement that.
Seamless
Because of earlier reviews, i was worried that this app wouldn’t work without buying a membership. I am glad that I downloaded it. I am able to access my digital library without signing up for a membership. It is very easy to find the library and to manoeuvre through the app.
Dissatisfied Overall
The app is difficult to navigate. The clips they constitute as live are prerecorded sessions less than 10 minutes long from known teachers. Most of the long form interviews are from random people that don’t have the long time experience from established teachers and lack interview skills. They focus a lot on racial issues and identity. I am unsatisfied with the price I paid and the content that’s being provided. At two months in my membership they denied me a refund. I was unhappy with the service before 30 days in and I should have initiated it then.

I don’t think I’d like this app to match all my stuff that I have purchased is gone. I just have two things that are not even mine that says under library.
