PianoPlayer
I sent a message to the developers during the pandemic thanking them for such a great product. My musician friend at that time recommended I put aside all my paper charts and get this app. Wow I was amazed at what I’ve accomplished with it; it reinvented me! Shortly after, I received a very warm thank you email. Still very pleased with this app and there updates to continue providing more and better features. Thank you again, Nick R. in Palm Desert/Rancho Mirage,Calif. 👍👍❗️
Ripoff
Once they get you by the neck on a subscription basis, they’ve got you. I hate the fact that I got involved with this. Greedy people.
One thing missing
I’ve been using this app for many years, and I love it. I only wish the developer would add Nashville notation as an option.
Sort issues in set list
Please fix issue with customizing the sort in a set list. So frustrating that I have to delete all songs and enter them in the order I want. Should be able to move them.
Not using Apple Music
Lack of instructions to use backing tracks from ‘Files’ in IPad Air 4th Gen. Apple deleted all backing tracks overnight before a gig, couldn’t reload. When trying to get around Apple Music, my version of SongSheet doesn’t allow me to complete the actions required to use files stored in iPad. Life members and have latest version, what is missing and how to get all the tools required.
Great
When the app syncs between devices, it will be as close to perfect as I could ever want
Hints
They have a tutorial doc, BUT IT DOESN'T TELL YOU HOW TO START??? There is no plus button to start your new song, the search feature doesn't reveal any music, the main menu isn't ant less confusing, and its dumb. The UI isn't intuitive at all, so im good, i'll find an app simplier. I just wanted a step above using my notes app for lyrics, instead i got 20 steps below that
Really great app!
I use this app multiple times a week, bought the lifetime version and haven’t regretted it. I like being able to not only add the chords I want to a song, but have the ability to make a custom chord. Also having the ability to transpose a song is great, especially when there are multiple people who perform the same song in different keys. My biggest wish list items would be: 1. Have the ability to use the search bar to search for lyrics, like a keyword search. Sometimes I won’t remember the name of a song but I would remember some of the lyrics. If I could type in the search bar for a keyword and get not only songs with that word in the title, but also get songs that has that word in the lyrics that would make my 4 star rating a 5!!! 2. It would be nice to be able to use the Nashville numbering system as a way of chording. When creating a “custom” chord, I have often wished for a button next to the “custom…” titled “Nashville numbering”, or “Number system”, or something like that, and still be able to add a ‘min’, ‘dim’, ‘sus4’, ‘b5’ etc. 3. What may be more helpful even is having the ability to add a user’s ‘custom’ or ‘favorite’ chords to the ‘library’ of chord options to choose from, and numbers (or someone’s “favorite” chords) could be added to it. Then when chording a song, they would already be there, instead of having to choose another option. Although technically numbers can be added as a chord as a custom option, it can get old real quick having to do that over and over with each new song. I still really like the app and hope the developer keeps doing a good job, and hopefully considers these suggestions from my humble perspective.
Buggy and Difficult to Use
I have used this app - the paid version for 2 years. I finally have given up and gone on to other apps. There are many problems here: - no cloud based sharing. You have to email to share - dragging chords with your finger is clunky and inaccurate. - propriety binary code internal format. No way to easily edit the song - verse gets deleted if you try to remove a marker. No way to know until you exit and open the song - bluetooth accompanying scrolling app is unreliable leaving you hanging while performing
20% price hike?! Greedy?
I use it every day for busking, and have recommended it to many friends. However, the new monthly price of £6.99 vs £4.99 is a real kick in the bits to me. For my simple needs, managing lyrics and set lists, I’m sure there are other options so I’ll be checking out some other options… and won’t be recommending it again.
Huge Asset to Gigging Musicians
This app has been a huge asset to my gigging career. It allows me to personalize cover songs and to write out my original song ideas with lyrics, chord charts, key signature, tempo, time signature, and capo use for guitar. You can even customize the chord, the title of each section, and make setlists for different types of performances. It has auto scroll for live performance and I can connect my Airturn DUO 500 pedal to scroll to different sections live with a tap of my foot. They were also super quick and informative when I reached out with an inquiry. They just added a new feature to back up your library and restore your back up so you never lose your hard work or original songs!
Anti consumer greed
$2 a WEEK for a simple app. The developers are contributing to the miasma of the modern world. SUCH GREED WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? Edit: the developer responded and let me know you can subscribe for $40 a year or buy it for $130. Also both TOTAL RIPOFFS. A simple app like this should be $15 TOPS. How did we get to the point that $130 is the price tag for a tiny app? These developers are so greedy, they don’t care how much money gets sucked out of people’s pockets. All they know is every other developer is doing it, so they are GOOD with predatory pricing. What a horrible time the 2020s is. Bottom line this app is worth $10. The developer is very happy to play stupid games with your money and try to extract as much money as possible from you for a VERY LIGHTWEIGHT app. That never would have flown in the past but the developer is so happy. They get to steal money from you and they have no moral qualms with that whatsoever.
Needs Nashville number system
Great app. I have been using it for years. Please add a Nashville number system option. Also an android option would be nice.
Bleibt oft hängen
Man kann oft nichts mehr auswählen, die App hängt sich auf, dauert oft sehr lange bis sich die Seite mit dem Text öffnet!
A good app for musicians
It’s really good for organising your set lists and song and inputting chords etc… I feel it would benefit from being able to edit txt colour and bold etc.. that would be helpful or even manually scribble notes with your finger
2 Columns!
If you're looking for a simple Chord Pro program to layout your music charts, buy SongSheet Pro! It will be money well spent. I've been using SongSheet Pro for years and it has been a super reliable and useful tool. I have over 900 songs saved in it. The only thing that I was ever missing from it was the inability to print two columns. I used to use a silly bass-ackward method to get two column charts by taking screenshots of two-pagers and cutting and pasting columns together into one image and saving that as a PDF. What a hassle (although I got really fast at it.) Lo and behold, I opened SongSheet Pro today and when I went to print, I was happily surprised to find it supports two columns natively and allows for more printing options. Thank you so much to the SongSheet Pro developers! Great product! Get it and you won't be disappointed.
This app sucks
I really like to write songs, not in a serious way, but just as a hobby. I got this app in hopes that I could just put my songs on it, I didn’t need anything else. When I tried to put my first song, I got to about the first chorus and the app kicked me out. When I went back in the app, all my progress was gone. After doing this for about 3-4 times, I was clicking the “done” button thats supposed to “save your progress” after every word I wrote. It continued to kick me out over, and over. So I don’t personally recommend this app, after deleting on the 1st morning
New iPad.
After many years, I finally replaced my old, no longer supported, can’t update, iPad with a new one. After transferring apps over, SongSheet is there but none of my 300+ tunes came over. Start Trial or Purchase are my only options. Anyone got a suggestion?
Your music is trapped
Pretty handy for the band, no better or worse than the other set list builders. The problem comes when you want to send songs to other people who are not in the band, and don’t have the software. Extracting your tunes for fill-in members, or people auditioning is an excruciating process, with 5 clicks per song, and VERY limited format selection. PDF is about all, and the PDF’s are impossible to work with. I like to convince my band to walk away. Sadly, we’re kind of trapped, and I quite resent it.
Bread and butter at every gig
As a guitarist who only quite recently took over lead vocals duties I am quite dependent on a functional set & lyric management solution and SongPro for the most part does deliver on my needs . Only serious complaint is that on occasion while in the middle of a performance the app becomes unresponsive and I have trouble selecting next tune or whatever, but this doesn’t happen too often.
Eases all the Pain Points
A friend showed me this about a dozen years ago and I’ve been a rabid fan ever since. I do about 450 1-hour gigs a year and I can’t even imagine what chaos my life would be without this app. It is chock full or features but that’s not the best part. Gabriel, the creator is a genuinely awesome guy. He is exceedingly responsive and interested in the user experience. This is a feature you can’t pay enough for. In addition to actually implementing user suggestions, he is deeply dedicated to Songsheet Pro. It is for these reasons I think this app is unmatched by any other out there. He has my eternal gratitude for making my life easier, which not many people can do for us these days.
Of no use
Without in app purchases to get you to up grade to pro it is worthless, more of a scam. The directions are nothing but what the app does not how to use it.
Lost ALL of my lyrics
The other day, RIGHT before a gig, the app updated and I lost my entire library of lyrics. I am so upset that I have to start from scratch again.
Nicht überzeugend
Die App ist nicht viel wert, da man die Songs selber im Internet suchen und importieren muss.
Review
It sounds like a great app except for the fact that you have to pay for it. If you’re looking for a free app, you’re in the wrong place.
The BEST App for Songwriter ⭐️ Singer
SongSheet Pro is still the VERY BEST app for SONGWRITERs / SINGERs / PERFORMERS I’ve been using this app for over 10 years, and it is still my most favorite app for Songwriting & Singing. I’ve tried so many apps before I decided on this one, & I made the right choice! This app is very intuitive: just type, copy or paste in lyrics & chords. It’s that easy! I love that I can add an audio track to my songs to remember it, practice with it or to “sweeten” the performance. And I love how I can change the key to a song, at any time to see if it suits my vocal range better. Now you can even scan in old binder images & even convert those images into text files. I can’t say enough about this app. I highly recommend it! Try the free trial & then buy the full Lifetime unlock version (one time purchase price) so you don’t have to worry about a subscription. The developer is always adding new features, so you can trust that it will be worth it even 10+ years from now! If Songwriting is a part of who you are, this app will help you to keep all your songs in one place, & keep the Songwriting juices flowing. I have it on my 2 iPads & on my iPhone for easy access & portability. It’s one of the few apps that I’ve been consistently ntely using all these years & it has truly blessed my life! A big thank you to the developer for making this app possible! #KeepingSongwritingAlive #GivingUsPurpose #HelpingUsLeaveaLegacy.
No new features
This app is kinda stagnant and new features are not being released. Get the Songbook pro app for just $5 loaded with tons of customizations.
Great app, but for me...
This app is great for musicians. It’s easy to use and set up for your next gig, especially the drag and drop option. Love that! The only reason it’s not 5 stars, is because I wish you could change the colour of the writing and centralise the song to the middle of the page. It would make it easier for me personally, to have the colour feature to tell certain parts of the song are coming up, for example. I usually have the chorus in red writing so I know it’s coming up next. If these are things that can be added it will be a 5 star from me. Still, it’s a really good app for musicians.
Very expensive
$6 a month, $60 a year, $120 lifetime.
Keeps freezing!
It's a good app, but when I'm typing in new songs it sometimes freezes and I have to start from scratch again! Really, really frustrating!
THE Best Song App for Musicians
I’m pretty sure I was one of the early users of SongSheet Pro. It’s an indispensable tool for working musicians as well as hobbyists. I currently perform in two bands and now have well over 1,000 songs. I’ve probably performed 200 songs and the extras come in handy if we get requests. I do all of our rehearsals and gig set lists in SongSheet. The app is incredibly flexible. In addition to entering or importing chords and lyrics, I use it to makes notes about who plays what solos, what pedals on my rig to have on or off on songs, etc. If you have questions, the developer, Gabriel, is an email away and my experience is that he respond remarkably quick. If I could give the app 10 stars, I would. In fact, I will: **********
Not very good…
Impossible to turn blackout function on…. Bought the subscription as I thought it might’ve been an issue with the free version. Exactly the same. Hopeless. Very annoyed.
Mr
I'm finding this app very useful. The option to have the auto-scroll start/stop by tapping the whole screen with a nice big blue arrow to remind me is most welcome. Very much looking forward to the addition of a metronome function so I can give the app 5 stars.
Overpriced
Overpriced for what it does. There are no chord graphics. It does not have the facility for annotations. A fairly basic app for a high price.
Almost there but not quite
Downloaded this a few hours ago, importing a song with chords from Word which is the main way I would create my lists the chords do not align with the words. This means work that I’ve already done so a waste of time. The whole app seems clunky so far and could be better particularly when its paid for. Perhaps there is better out there
Pro Use
Simple to use on the gig. Very easy and quick to learn the program. I’ve had a few issues turning pages with air turn. I think it may because my Air Turn pedal is ancient. Support Live Music!
Took my program
I had this program for a few years then it was taken from me. I lost all my songs I wrote and others I had put in. Thanks a lot.
I really like this app
So far I have imported 150 songs, which I copied over from iPages. It was worth the time I spent doing this as the app makes it easy to organise each song into different sets in preparation for a gig. I would recommend this app. Some good points -I have found this app easy to use and the downloadable help file covered the main features of the app. -The app is stable and operates fairly smoothly; with the exception of importing from OneDrive. -Copy and paste from multiple sources: Word, iPages, Internet. -You can add a genre to each song, key and author. -Easily drag chords to required position. -Easily transpose the key of each song. -Easily place songs into a set and order as required. -Simple back-up using email. -Ability to both email and print PDFs of a set. -Increase text size, change colour of text and chords, change page background colour. -Increase screen size by using gestures. Great for poor eye sight. -Auto scroll feature works well, but I would like more flexibility to control the speed of each song. Some difficulties experienced -After importing there is some formatting required to adjust the chords into the correct position, which can be time consuming. However, it is simple to drag the chord where you want it. -I did find a problem importing a txt and PDF file from OneDrive and iCloud. I had to open the file and copy and paste the content. Possible improvements -More options for controlling speed of auto scroll. -I would like the song key to be remembered so that after I transpose a song I can easily revert back to original key. -A built in metronome.
Import cumbersome
The file Import is complicated.
No voice notes
I wish the app had the ability to save voice notes for individual songs
The Perfect App
I’ve had apple for over 10 years and this is my first review. This app is perfect for what I need and I love the fact that they thought of the user. This isn’t entirely fancy and complex - and helps me stay organized in the way my brain functions to support the ministry. Not all songs or hymns have the right chord charting and it’s hard to rely on one database for songs that are in different languages. For my cross-cultural contexts - this equips myself and our team with all we need.
Bro, are you serious
While this is excellent for writing, it just needs a longer free trial
Nearly 5 stars
Having tried probably all of the other similar apps, this one is head and shoulders above the rest. I have made one suggestion to the developer and they have told me that it is on their todo list. Can't argue with that. Will modify to 5 stars when I can highlight sections of text.
Intraface ok importing a pain
The actual app is great but importing…all my songs are in Pages… !!!!
So Far So Good
Hi. I’ve downloaded your app and am enjoying using it. I use it to gig with and have just a few comments so far that I hope you can fix/add to the app. 1. I bought the iRig Blue Turn. I use the auto scroll all the time and can’t get it to perfectly match up with me and the band every time so I was hoping I’d be able to use the iRig to either go forward or back a little as the lyrics were scrolling. It’s a Bluetooth foot pedal. I also play the guitar when I sing so can’t use my hand on the screen. I was hoping I could tap Up or Down on my foot pedal but it doesn’t work when SongSheet is auto scrolling the lyrics. For example, if I have a song set for 3mins and 30 seconds and turn on auto scroll, and we end up playing the song a little faster, I would like to tap the Bluetooth page turner (iRig Blue Turn) to advance the lyrics a bit forward, but it doesn’t work when in auto scrolling mode. And as a person who plays guitar and sings, we can’t really be reaching out and touching the screen to move it down a bit while its scrolling. Would be great to just tap the down button on the iRig with my foot and have the song advance a bit while in auto scroll mode. 2. The other thing I noticed is that when the iRig is hooked up via Bluetooth and I try to edit a song while in rehearsal, the alphabet keyboard is hidden and there is no way to get it to come up without disconnecting Bluetooth. 3. I wish there was an UNDO button. Once you make a mistake, too bad. Frustrating when you’ve accidentally deleted a bunch of lyrics. I am using a very new iPad. If it wasn’t for these things, I definitely be giving this app 5 stars, but it’s not quite there yet. Would love it if you would consider fixing these things or let me know what I’m doing wrong. Thanks so much! Keep on programming and I’ll keep on singing!
Excellent App
App is perfect for my worship set lists! Great response time from admin when I have a question!
How to import to pro?
I have SongSheet and SongSheet pro. How do I export all the songs from SongSheet into the pro version now that SongSheet won’t open (since the latest iOS update)? SongSheet refuses to open abs says to contact the developer! Hmmmm
Does what it says
Great app for organising and transcribing your gig book with lyrics n chords. A useful addition would be add pictorial chord notation
Songsheet app
This app has some nice features but is missing a fundamental thing that I thought it should have had from the outset. An auto scroll function so it scrolls through the lyrics at a selectable speed so you can read the lyrics and chords whilst playing / singing. Other apps at half the price offer this function and its disappointing to see this missing from songsheet.
Auto scroll
Good stuff but needs auto scroll. Also, it would be good to be able to save lyrics in the cloud. What happens if I delete the app by mistake or get a new iPad?
