Poor Customer Service
I have been trying to sign in now for 3 days. I can not get any support! The AI responds with a re-sign in message but the problem is the re-sign does not work and it will not connect! There is no one to talk to about this problem and no way to resolve the issue! Extremely frustrating!!!
Comprehensive and customizable
Very nice work. I get OnSong to do what I need and I Like that a lot. There is a bug here and there and a restart is required. But, the pros far outweigh any cons. 4 stars because I want you to keep trying to please me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Needs improvement
Fails basic usability, incredibly hard to navigate even after a few months.
Buggy
There’s a lot to dislike about this app … it crashes regularly (i am on a new ipad, fully updated and so is my app version) and it does not grey-out songs already selected in other sets when you are building multiple set lists (hour 1, hour 2, hour 3 of a gig, for instance). Crashes can happen at anytime without notice. It’s extremely maddening to have to go back and look at other sets to make sure you’ve not already selected a song. The app used to grey out all songs you had in other active sets. Why on earth would they remove this feature? I hate paying for this app, but I am stuck depending on it. They know so it’s mediocre at best.

DOES NOT WORK
I have an M3 MacBook Pro with the latest OS. The app opens with the welcome screen, but as soon as I click any button, the interface turns black and all the buttons disappear. Disappointing.
Get the basics right before you do the fancy stuff.
Changing keys doesn’t always work, capo; backups. It’s all so clunky and so 2002. You need to look at your backend and see if it can support all of the extras you’re trying to add onto it.
Each time I try to make a set list I feel like I’m going to lose my mind!
I am not a stupid person, but this app makes me feel completely inept at life. please help me understand how to make your app work?!?!

Best app for singers
Easy to use and send lyrics to other band members. Creating setlists is a breeze and I love the scrolling feature. No need to use a Bluetooth page turner!
Unreliable
This app has given me more headaches on Sunday mornings than you can imagine. Zero support. Used to be able to link Dropbox easily. Not anymore!
Keeps getting better; support team responsive
Been supporting Jason before he had a team! While I’ve given my share of criticism and complaints, the app still offers more features and functionality that I would love to use: MIDI triggers, light control, backing tracks… but no question, it’s workable enough to reduce my song binders to a single app, import church sets from Planning Center, and provides enough layout controls for my iPad to be the centre of my worship leading experience. And the support team responds promptly to cases and questions submitted through the app. Love you guys!
Potential But Not There
2 stars. OnSong has potential, but the reliability issues have been frustrating enough that I can’t rate it higher. Emails with attachments won’t send properly from my iPad when using the official Apple Magic Keyboard unless I physically remove the keyboard first, which is ridiculous for an app aimed at working musicians. Finding and organizing songs can also feel way more difficult than it should be during rehearsals or live sets. Worst of all, the app deleted my entire song library once, and I had to slowly rebuild everything from scratch knowing a lot of songs were permanently lost. For a worship/music app that people depend on weekly, stability and trust matter more than fancy features.
Lot of issues
Having issues with my pedal scrolling. Also lay out is a bit strange compared to earlier versions. Ended up using my older version as I did not delete it when I downloaded the 2026 version.

Application is broken on iOS 26.5.2
I rarely leave reviews on apps but I’m not sure where else to go. I recently downloaded the OnSong app with intent to purchase the premium membership. However, when I tap the “Upgrade to OnSong Premium or Essentials” CTA button in the app, there is no option to proceed with purchase. In addition, the popup modal with the “start free trial” is not live (tapping the start free trial does nothing). I’m not sure where else to go, since their premium support is only available for paying members, and since I’m unable to upgrade, I’m stuck in an unfortunate loop.
Can be very buggy
Great app but requires reboots sometimes when you are editing.
Eh
It gets the job done but it is a chore to set up set lists or move songs around. It would be way better if you could click on a song and then have a drop-down option to add that song to each set list you wanted. It’s not very user friendly at all but it’s what I have.
Still using it but with issues
Been a user for 10 years and paying for the pro version now as well. A lot of unresolved issues the last couple years. Imports everything twice, randomly changes words like “ verse” to “ gerse”. Support responds but hasn’t been able to resolve my issues. Still a user

Love this app!
frustrating
I got this app to do some simple work setting up setlists and controlling my setlist with a foot pedal. To do anything of value, you have to sign up for a subscription, which is fine, I signed for the pro version so I could do what I wanted. Even after I did that every time I went to access any function, I was blocked by a screen asking me to sign in and upgrade. No matter how many times I went through these steps, I could never get past this screen. Deleting this app and moving to an app more focused on an intuitive interface.
Great tool
On Song is a fantastic tool to work with. It is not a on/off application. You need to work with it and be patient. It as great potential. Give yourself time, explore and experiment with.
What Happened?!
I’ve been using OnSong since the very beginning, and it has always been my go-to. But the recent changes and updates have made it incredibly frustrating to use and difficult to navigate. I’d love to go back to the original version!
Cost to Keep OnSong Working
Pick Up Where I left Off. It has been a few months since I used the OnSong app. I wanted to search for a song I typed in a couple years ago and add change the key and print out. It says I need to pay to update. Why?

Great features, one missing...
I love the ease of this app, and find it so good to use along with my pedal page turner via bluetooth. The only thing I think is missing or perhaps I haven't worked out how to do it, but the library and sets do not sync across my devices. Laptop/ipad & iphone. This means that I cannot use two of them at the same time knowing that any changes I make will be applied to any device. Any help with this would be appreciated!
OnSong has become so buggy!!
It’s very frustrating to not be able to share song sets. All iPads are on the same subnet but quite often for the past couple of months I cannot beam song sets to other OnSong users. They appear in the team list but do not get the list. I’ve started transferring songs to another app that works.
OnSong crashes constantly
After using OnSong for years, the latest updates crash the app constantly. I've been back and forth emailing for over 2 years now with no fix for this bug...very disappointed and it's messing up my gigs. No phone support at all, not even live chat?! Please fix this bug now that you’ve already admitted is a known issue that still exists after over 2 years or I’ll have to look at other apps.
Love Onsong!
Love this app! It has saved so much time not having to shuffle papers. I love having my prior song lists available. The ability to change keys is also a fast easy help. I have used Onsong for many years. As a worship leader (or not) I will always use it!
Unhappy
I can’t get the app to communicate with other band members. No one can figure out why. I submitted for help twice and get no response.
App repeatedly asks to Upgrade when the subscription is purchased
So premium features remain locked.
Issues with 2026 update
I’ve noticed that since the latest update, the lyric text sizing becomes inconsistent. For example, the lyrics under Verse 1: are sized correctly, but then the lyrics under Chorus: are smaller. This wasn’t an issue before this update. I’ve double-checked the app settings, and everything appears normal there. Please fix this ASAP.
Good but beware subscriptions
It works for what I want :-). But it seems impossible to swap from a premium to a standard subscription. You have to cancel one and start the other. So if you accidentally go over the free trial of premium , and get charged for another year, you need to set a calendar reminder for a year ahead to do the cancel / new then. It’d be handy if they offered a free subscription to standard too, instead of only premium.
Great asset
I’ve been using OnSong on my iPhone and iPad Pro for quite a few years. I also like having my backing instruments and harmony vocals available. I use a mic stand to hold the iPad and it’s Bluetooth connected to my Mackie ShowBox. It’s great for small gigs.
Buttons don’t work completely useless
Every time I tried to do anything it presented me with start trial but no matter what I did it would just hang there and not start anything. The account box kept flashing red as if it needed input from me but I had everything filled in. I gave up on this. Really bad user interface.
Linking iPads
I love this app so much I just wish it wasn’t such a problem sharing my set with other iPad users in the band.. it just keeps disconnecting from the router so I have to keep searching for the other iPads. I use iPad Pro 6th gen and my band members all have iPad Pro 2nd gen so I use my iPad Pro as master and 2 band member iPad Pro as slaves.. have you any idea why I can’t keep them connected ? Or do you have a gadget I can purchase to make this useable please. Many thanks
Keeps crashing
It’s not stable and keeps crashing when I’m prepping a show. I can’t even open it when this happens. If it goes down on stage I would be soooo screwed. I can’t use it if it’s not stable.
Unannounced changes and no way correct issue
My songs used to import with a nice left margin. Now the come in slammed against the left edge of the screen. Now as I open some older imported songs, their format is changing, too. Haven’t found anything online about how to revert them to their original format. The app has become more difficult to control. 😕
Can’t Live Without it
OnSong is a staple in my music playing. Whether I am performing or teaching a class it helps me keep track of all my music, arrange new pieces, project all instruction. I have over 7000 songs in my library that I take everywhere on my iPad and iPhone. The most used app on my devices!

Frustrated
I loved this app at first! It did everything I needed and was easy to understand. since the new changes I can’t even create a set! aRRRGH!!!!! And to think I am paying premium! Help me fix it! Also, your user manual is not anyway like what is showing on my screen, so please don’t refer me it.
Not worth the money
Ever since they went subscription, updates and changes made difficult to do anything. Sharing between iOS and Laptop is intermittent, some things work sometimes. Have to purchase latest or most expensive tablet to get it to function properly.
Good but not Great yet
OnSong does some things well and we appreciate those things. There are some very frustrating things also in OnSong. We have continuous trouble with notes bleeding from one song to another. We also have trouble with notes disappearing as soon as you change from one song to another and then go back ………….. poof ………. All the notes are erased. I have contacted OnSong a few times for this issue. They are quick to get back for service, but the problem continues and is very frustrating at times. The highlighting is unstable too. Sometimes it disappears randomly. Other song, the notes and highlighting stays for years without problems.
Great app, been using it since 2012
I have used the OnSong app for both live performance and practice and I consider it the best music related app I’ve ever used. I play with several different groups and keep songbooks for each group as well as my solo singer songwriter charts. For live performance I created “cheat sheets” with cues I can glance down at occasionally to keep me on top of lyrics. On complicated chord arrangements I can glance down and do a refresher before kicking off a song. I use it with an iPad attached to my vocal mic stand and have learned how to use it without appearing to be reading lyrics! Highly recommended!!
The software seems unstable
Is it me? WiFi issues? Cords not accurate or key signatures changes wonky?
Gold standard!
The best product out there for organizing and sharing charts. I particularly like the quick "beam" feature to share a chart with other OnSong users in the room. Great for jams.
Too pricey, too many crashes, increasing price
I gave this a try for a good year's subscription. There are many features promised but the MIDI is very clunky, often crashes. It isn't clear either. Often times it crashes when editing or when performing live. There are very good features, but for the price, I think it is too complex for nothing. The essential features for a solo performer are not robust enough for me. Switching to Just Chords.
Complicated
Have premium 2022 version valid till November 23 Version 2023 is out with no visible update link. Conflict with others in my group. There are other issues also but this seems to be a major block.
