Excellent App
Checkout 51 is my favourite app! It is a lot easier than using coupons and introduces you to a lot of great products that you may not have noticed otherwise!
Hard to get items approved.
As another user mentioned stores are updating and going paperless. It is SO difficult to get a paperless PDF item approved. Took me over 10 times to get one approved.. one denial saying “can’t find the total amount” and another saying “can’t find the purchase date” meanwhile they were both clearly listed on there. At this point I figure it’s lazy workers not willing to look into receipts and just denying.
Great redemption sit
Only reason for 4 stars is there’s not enough fresh fruit, meat and veggies offered. I don’t buy much pre-boxed items.
Waste of time
There are very few options on coupons and when you actually need something it’s no longer available. They really need to expand their options
Used to be better
Offers aren’t great. Seems like when I do get a product on the list, it usually turns out that I got it at a store where it isn’t valid. A lot of junky stuff, and wine! So much wine! It’d be nice to be able to claim common brands and every day staples. Haven’t sent in for a cheque in a long time!

Don’t waste your time
Takes a long time to get to the $20 payout. Will lose money of you don’t make a claim within 180 days. Rude and inconsiderate customer service. Many people have not been able to redeem their cashback even when following the Terms. Do not recommend and encourage you to read the reviews on trustpilot before creating an account.

Outdated/Slow
Besides the fact that there aren’t many different offers at a time, the app is just filled with delays and bugs. They are also very inconsistent with receipt checks
Deleting offers
The most frustrating thing I find about this app is the elimination of offers with no warning or timeframe. Twice I have gone to the store and purchased items and by the time I got home to submit them, I get the “no more offers left” message. Ridiculous! It has been suggested by others that you have to look at the offer again at the register, quickly check out, and submit the offer while still in the store. Really???? I’ve never had this issue with Ibotta or Swagbucks.
Great app
I have used Checkout 51 for almost 3 years now. I like that I can get all my coupons in one spot online and I don’t have to worry about remembering coupons at the checkout. I have forgotten to claim offers before the receipt was thrown away or lost so I have missed out on a few things, but this app has saved me or returned to me nearly $300. Even though it has saved me that much money I find that some weeks there are no offers at all that I can use and most of the time there are only a couple of offers that are relevant to me. I wish the app could learn from the offers that I do redeem and find more coupons that were relevant to me.
App has gone downhill
I used to use this app all the time and I actually cashed out once. But the offers have really gone down hill. You used to get cash back offers for buying fruit or vegetables or common products. Now it seems like the offers are on very niche products that target a very tiny market. I’m going to delete the app. It’s not worth it anymore.

I heard about this app from a coworker, downloaded it and found it satisfying to an extent. Most of the offers don’t apply to the store I shop in, but when they do the cash back is great!
When App first launched it WAS for everyone…
Used to offer rewards for commonly purchased products. Such as school snacks, discount or store brand products, and you didn’t always have to purchase the mega-sized / family sized option to earn $1-$3. I LOVED this app when it first started, I cashed out my minimum $20 TWICE within 6 months! Now it’s just so beyond extremely selective. The average income household can barely afford anything on the weekly lists. You can forget about low income households, which is sadly where I have ended up after an unexpected medical trauma. I was just about to delete the app altogether but I thought I’d leave my feelings about all the changes first. If your looking for a fair Canadian receipt app use “Receipt Hog”
Misleading
You have to select an “offer” before scanning your receipt. Several times an “offer” has been available and I select it, then after I upload the receipt it says “No Offers Left”. I had already purchased the item, so I had to return it or fight with Customer Service.
Great Service
100% happy with the service I received from Checkout 51!!! Will continue to use it 😘
Won’t cash out/closed accounts
They give you the items with cashback, limit you to a set number of each item… If you accumulate any amount of cash, you’re accused of violating the terms - closed account Buy things two weeks in a row…you’re returning them, and they close your account. No recourse, just automatic close. Save yourself the time and skip it!
Used to be good
Started out good, but the last few years I haven’t been able to earn anything because the offers cannot be used with coupons and run out. Haven’t been able to earn the minimum to cash out and found out the hard way they start deducting from your balance if you aren’t active enough. So disappointed I lost a lot of money I had earned.

For me this company is a Scam. I cashed out and never got the check, sent a support ticket and was told it would be reissued. Not received. Maybe if you use PayPal / Venmo you would get paid 🤷♀️
Used to have better offers
When this app came out, it had great offers for things that I buy. Now most of the offers are not things I purchase. Even if the offer happens to be for a brand that I purchase, it includes every product except the one that I purchase. Or the offer is only good at certain stores. We only have Walmart, so if I can’t get it there, the offer is useless. I’ve gotten burned a few times lately.

Out of stock items
I used to use this app all the time, but the last few times I have bought the product and then went to get my cash back. The response is that there are no longer any left. So I am stuck with the product and no cash back. One time I returned the product to the store. If they are going to put them up there, there should be enough product for everyone who buys their products
No longer helpful
I’ve had this app for years and it started out really great, having many offers on every-day essentials. Now it’s random items that I never buy(like specific organic milk or depends underwear). I’ve deleted the app as I haven’t been able to upload any items from my receipts for over a year and they took away the few dollars I had saved up on the app.

No longer of value
Used to have good value and products. Now the amount or products are so limited. Plus the amount of times it’s not valid for a normal store makes this app of no value.
Needs more frequent rebates
It took 10 years to build up to the $20 withdrawal threshold as they don’t have very many rebates and they aren’t usually for very practical items. I’m going to delete the app and stick to just Ibotta and other recent apps now.

Man i realllike using the app and the savings. Wish there were better deals sometimes. Also communication with support is difficult. Payouts are fairly easy but can sometimes take longer. Over all i have received over 150 in cash back through PayPal
Scam!!!!
Let’s you build up your coupon dollars then comes up with some reason why you went against there terms of service when you didn’t and they won’t give you any proof you did. In turn they keep you funds long story short I’m out $600 and according to a quick google search I’m not the only one.
Its good but we need more coupons
The app works great but the thing is some coupons have been here a long time and i dont think the variety of coupon we have is good! Its almost always the same brands and i dont buy that brand if i am lucky i found one coupon to use once a month ! The concept is really great but more variety would be awesome

Horrible experience
Same as many others report. My acct closed and my money taken. No recourse to get my accumulated amount. They made accusations that were not even true. Very disappointing.

Don’t support this App
Surprisingly terrible! I had seen this app on several social media posts and it seemed great! I have diligently for the last couple of years bought items, collected and uploaded receipts with the intention of using the money earned as a treat or as a rainy day fund. Now that I’ve tried to cash out my account at over $450 “my account is suddenly in violation, the decision is final and there is no appeals process” according to company representatives who won’t even go so far as to tell me anymore info. I can’t return the items I bought in order to get the cash back rewards so I’m out double. This app is terrible and I would not recommend to anyone.
