Great product
I have been using Tado for years and it’s excellent. You can set your heating up to do whatever you want it to and never touch it again as it turns off when you leave and back on when you’re on your way home. I can’t recommend this highly enough.
Awful
Horrible company horrible app. Been leaving 1 star reviews for ages and they keep getting taken down. Pay for a subscription to control the devices I spent a fortune on. Tado X is a huge downgrade from v3. Waste of money. Don’t bother
Super App aber leider immer noch keine Widgets
Ich finde, die App ist super einfach zu bedienen und ansprechend aufgebaut. Das einzige, was mich stört, ist, dass es keine Widgets gibt, um die Temperatur schnell auf dem Home- oder Sperrbildschirm einzusehen.
Werbung auf dem Dashboard
Mit dem neuen Update wird Werbung auf dem Dashboard für einen Stromtarif angezeigt. Wie blende ich das aus?
Werbung trotz Abo
Trotz Abonnement - die penetranten Werbekacheln stören erheblich. Abschaltbar sind sie nicht. Keine Heizungsanlagensteuerung? Macht nix, die Werbung haben trotzdem auf den Hauptscreen. Sie haben schon einen Stromanbieter? Macht nix, die Werbekachel zum Stromangebot haben sie trotzdem auf dem Hauptscreen…. Etc.

it’s started to ask me to log in but crashes as soon as i try to enter my email-so it’s useless. just glad it’s not winter where i really need to use the app. please fix

The system generally works, we see occasional glitches but generally works ok.
Reglung zu ungenau
Ich habe die Thermostate nun seit 4 Jahren im Einsatz. Mich nervt, dass die Reglung nicht lernfähig ist. Kommt man nach Hause, geht die Reglung zu spät aus. So gehen manche Räume auf 3-4 grad über Solltemperatur. Das ist einfach zu viel! Des Weiteren sind die Preise für Zusatzprodukte eine Frechheit! Am Abo und den Basis Geräten, verdient ihr doch genug Geld, warum sind Raumthermostate dann so unverschämt teuer! Bietet doch bitte ein Raumthermostat was dem Regler an der Heizung Feedback gibt für unter 20€ an.
Einsparungen mit Thermostaten gut aber nicht zünde entwickelt.
Leider kann man den Dynamischen Stromtarifarif von Tado für die Wärmeerzeugung mittels Wärmepumpe nicht einstellen. Dann kann ich nicht direkt bzw. nur über einen Workaround eine Wörmepumpe als Wärmeerzeuger einstellen(geht nur Öl oder Gas, regenerativ…. Fehlanzeige). Ich habe ein sehr gutes EMS das ich gerne weiter betreiben möchte ohne den Wärmepumpenoptimierer. Alles nicht ganz so durchgängig leider. Achja, wann ist der hydraulische Abgleich förderfähig?

£2k and I can’t login to the app
New iPhone and the app crashes every time I try to log in. Wife had same issue on iPhone 17 pro and pro max.
Latest update of the app is not working
Cannot get app to open after recent update. Requires sign in but cannot get to sign in page - screen goes blank and app shuts down. Have rebooted phone. App will not start. iOS 18.7.8
UI wird schlechter
In den Updates wird immer von UI Verbesserung gesprochen aber seit einiger Zeit ist die Verbrauchsübersicht deutlich schlechter. Wenn die y-Achse plötzlich zwischen 700-1000 Euro verläuft, sind alle drei Linien mehr oder weniger auf einer Höhe. Hier sollte der ursprüngliche Stand wiederhergestellt werden
Accessibility
I am blind and had my TADO for getting on for 10 years. The unit still works well but the app lacks full accessibility with Talkback on Android and Voiceover on Apple devices. I can only alter the manual temperature by repeated flicks en the control. Also my unit now fails to be recognised by the Alexa app. This used to work extremely well but now I can't tell the TADO to change temperature by voice. It used to be great and I contacted TADO about issues in the past and these were fixed. Over time accessibility has got worse. This is a shame as blind people talk quite a bit on forums and on podcasts about the accessibility of smart thermostats and TADO may be losing sales on this basis. A great product but lacking important finishing touches.
Don’t go with anyone else
So easy to install. App is incredible. Just couldn’t fault it. better than hive/all the others
Poor service
App has worked fine for 12 months, suddenly won’t heat radiators. Hot water is fine. Contacted support by email (phone not possible without paying), showed no interest in assisting outside essentially saying ‘call an electrician’. If you judge companies based on how they react when things go wrong, Tado’s pretty poor.
Nervige Werbung
Die Steuerung funktioniert bei mir gut. Aber seit neuestem auf der Startseite Werbung für einen Stromtarif nervt, vor allem weil ich zahlender Kunde bin (Abo).
Rezensionen werden gelöscht
Habe schon zwei mal hier eine Rezension geschrieben und beide sind nicht mehr auffindbar. Kurze Version: Unverschämt dass es ein kostenpflichtiges Abo gibt in dem essenzielle funktionieren drin sind (offene Fenster Erkennung). Sehr heutige Batterie Wechsel nötig.(Am besten Akkus nutzen) Ein Stern wegen dem löschen der Rezensionen
Weniger Funktionen, mehr Abo
Ich nutze tado seit mehreren Jahren in mehreren Installationen für verschiedene Wohnungen, Ferienwohnung etc. Großen und Ganzen bin ich sehr zufrieden! Inzwischen nervt es aber, denn Funktionen, die früher verfügbar waren, wie zum Beispiel der Temperatur- und Feuchtigkeitsverlauf in den Räumen steht jetzt nur noch per Abo mit AI zur Verfügung. Sehr schade.
Slight improvement needed
Great home improvement, I can now switch my heating and hot water on from my phone. Just a slight improvement on the app required please, thermostat icon should change to red when the boiler is on and heating up your house, like the hot water icon does.

Keine Möglichkeit Profile zu hinterlegen
Es sollte in der App die Möglichkeit geben, Profile zu hinterlegen. Wenn sich die Jahreszeit ändert muss ich jedes mal alle Geräte einzeln neu programmieren, z.B. jetzt im Sommer weil die Heizung trotz unveränderter Einstellung tendenziell viel zu warm wird. Das passiert leider trotz AutoAssist und aktivierter Wetteranpassung. Besser wäre es, wenn ich mehrere Einstellungen unter einem Profil hinterlegen könnte, das ich dann einfach mit einem Knopfdruck aktiviere (z.B. für „Sommer“ oder „Winter“)
App gut - leider rückschritte
Die app und das System funktioniert in sich als ecosystem gut. Die Integration in andere Systeme wird leider immer weiter eingeschränkt. Das System ist quasi mit zB Homeassistant nicht mehr nutzbar. Schade, ich werde bald wechseln müssen

Auto Assist Monatsabo lässt sich nicht buchen. Nur die jährliche Buchung ist möglich. Scheinbar will man einem zum teurem Jahresabo zwingen. Echt schlecht gerade im Winter!
Good but…
I’ve had tado for a few years now, they are slowly moving to lock features behind paywalls. They keep trying to introduce a mandatory subscription and then cancel because of the backlash. I’d be wary about buying into tado

Ich bin begeistert, alles läuft super, leichte Installation. Aber ich wäre extrem begeistert, wenn man die Luftfeuchtigkeit als diagramm oder so hätte, oder Werte auch rückwirkend sehen kann. Gerade bei manch einem Vermieter wäre sowas sehr sinnvoll. So mache ich täglich Screenshots, was nervig ist

Ok
The Tao app devices et cetera is very good product very well designed packaged, curated and executed. My one and only complaint is the app doesn’t allow switching homes if you are fortunate enough to have more than one home it would be nice to switch homes like most other automation apps unfortunately it forces you to set up two different account accounts and sign out and signing which is a whole big palaver.
Great item
Have this for a couple of months now really couldn’t work without it. Amazing. The fact you can have so many time periods easy to use. App has been faultless with highly recommend.
Over complicating a good system
Changed admin - removing admin user from the app - why ? Emailed me about changes and quoted wrong Admin name and email address for my system. Why over complicate a great app - I bet no user asked for these changes - techies always think they know better than their customers / users I hope my heating still works after the 7th April when a huge charge is levied for proper support that should be free - Tado have messed up the system so Tado should pay the users for the inconvenience !!
Ist okay
Macht was es soll. Raumluft-Komfort sagt bei 19 Grad ist kühl - dabei ist es ideal für Schlafenszeit. Wann kann man Räume nach Typen einteilen?
Unhappy we had to give up Nest
We had a perfectly good Nest thermostat which became deprecated, so we had to buy a Tado and pay for fitting in order to carry on having app control of our heating. It’s ok but it’s missing some key features we had, like intelligent pre-warm, which is essential when the daily temperature is so variable. Also, many features are behind a paywall, such as the ability to see yesterday’s heating chart. That’s such basic data, don’t tell me it’s AI and needs a subscription!
Good But…
Works fine until it makes you sign in repeatedly on the iPad for no apparent reason and then again on the android phone again for no apparent reason. Then there’s the Error Codes, there used to be 2 to dismiss however, now after three updates, there’s now 3! Come on Tado Sort it Out!

Unable to connect thermostats
I have a wired and wireless thermostat X professionally installed but they will not connect to the app. I even went to the extent of spending another £50 on the bridge x which makes no difference. No support
Adverts for upgrades
Constantly has banners making bold statements to save money on energy usage which leads to a screen to pay for a further subscription. Would have thought paying for hardware would cover most of the clever stuff. But you have to perpetually pay for that. Would be better to have 2 separate apps maybe. One with upgrades and adverts and one without. Otherwise the app works ok.
Limited options
Feels like this could be so much better really easily, just by having options for more than one schedule. Even my old 'non smart' thermostat had that. You can't even set different schedules for different days other than week days and weekends. Seem to focus on trying to get you to pay for upgrades on features like open window detection when they can't even do the basics.

I think the overall promises of the system are met but the app is clunky. There is a lot of admin setting the temps etc.

3 years using
Having used tado V3 for over 3 years in 3 homes, I can confirm the app is easy to use and the system is brilliant for controlling heating costs. Only one critique of her app is we need more scenarios than home and away. User defined would be great for example “visitors” or “kids staying “ or “Christmas” where rooms can be configured without having to go and change them manually,
Really disappointed
Got this as a replacement for my nest which was retired by Google. Can only say that I’m highly disappointed. Everything on the app apart from the scheduling requires a premium payment.
Functional but could be better
It’s simple and functional but could be better. The booster button is set for 30min only? Would be better if that time could be extended by the user. Also a simple button to turn on the heating, like the booster, to a preferred temperature especially when we have smart radiator valves, otherwise you have to manually adjust every valve. Finally, Alexa doesn’t work anymore? Why?
