I Love Calm
Right around this week marks my first full year with calm; I haven’t missed one day! Calm is so much an integral part of my life now that I almost see the world as before Calm and with. I focus on my my 2 gurus, Tamara and Jeff and I thank them each and everyday. I took up formal or to me formal meditation to help my anxiety, run of the mill, free-floating anxiety and Calm is the cure! Go get it for yourself now. Ok next review: I’m now 3 years into Daily Calm, each morning to set the tone for my day. I have missed nary a day. I am a changed man because of Calm, specifically kudos to Tamara Leavitt and Jeff Warren. I have recommended Calm to many but u can’t make horses drink, oh well.
Scam
This is literally a scam. They suck you in with a free trial, make it impossible to cancel and then when you reach out to cancel via messages, they ignore it and you end up getting charged and impossible to get your money back. Do not recommend
Why do you keep making the app worse?
Edit: thank you for bringing back the sleep timer for playlists. Please also return the ability to filter the favorites list by media type ——— Sleep timer removed from playlists. Favorites are no longer filterable to distinguish sleep stories from soundscapes. The app is quickly becoming unusable. Why are you going out of your way to remove features people use every day? The last thing I want to do right before bed is navigate through four separate pages to find suitable audio. Now every night I have to navigate to Profile > Library > Favorites and scroll and scroll until I find what I’m looking for. Punishing people for using the features you’ve designed (e.x. Having lots of favorites) is awful UX.
Poor update
Latest update removed titles from the daily meditations, so you can’t see the topic. Also, you can no longer tap on the Daily category (Calm, Trip, Jay), and see a list of the previous days.
Daily Calm with Tamara episodes have disappeared
Update: All of Tamara’s meditation courses and playlists are empty?! 7 days of Calm, Love & Relationships, etc etc they’re all empty?! What happened Before the update, the user is able to see a list of Daily Calm episodes from the past 7 days. Now when you tap on Daily Calm, it starts playing the most recent episode and doesn’t show any other episodes. Also, all of my favorited episodes have disappeared. My favorite list is empty now. Fix please
A different person
I have been using Calm for several years. I use the meditations in the morning and if needed the sleep stories and mediation at night. The lessons on mindfulness that I have learned to the daily mindfulness meditation has changed the way I move through the world. I am calmer, More connected, a better listener, friend, parent. I highly recommend the Calm app-

Been a Calm user for years. Recently saw an ad on Instagram that took me to quiz.calm.com. Had me answer a few dozen questions. I figured maybe Calm had a new feature to build a custom plan for me so I don’t just keep picking the same old meditations. Nope. It was just a marketing bait and switch. There’s not even a feature to build a plan based on the 25 questions it just asked me. Just wanted me to put in my credit card and subscribe (spoiler… I’m already a subscriber). Incredibly frustrating. So here’s the new feature you should build. Ask me those 25 questions from your quiz, but then build me a plan automatically based on it. When I open the app, I don’t want to have to go digging for the meditation I want. That could take minutes staring at a screen adding more cognitive overload to my life. Instead, create a plan for me and then allow me to tweak it over time. THAT would be valuable. THAT would keep me as a subscriber. I’ve found the app less and less useful over time and am probably going to unsubscribe, but that would help change it around for me.

I received the app with a free year from one of my CCs. I was used it consistently and decided it was worth the yearly cost for the sleep stories alone, but now also enjoy the daily Jay, meditation, movement, and sounds. Hope you try it and enjoy!

I have heard them all before
I’ve been a Calm member for quite a few years, and lately it seems like I’ve heard all of the “daily calm” audio before. I don’t use it every day, maybe 1-3 times a week. I doubt I’ve exhausted the whole library, I wish it was smart enough to play me only daily calm sessions that I haven’t already heard before.
Same content over and over
Preferences are not considered by the app as I get the same content I dislike regularly. I find there is not enough new materials in the daily séries.
Good content, lousy interface
I’ve been using this for over a year and some of the content is great. However it’s very “in your face” for an app to help you relax and focus. The Home Screen is just their big billboard of stuff they want you to try and offers no configuration options that might make it a useful page. If I use a sleep story at night, in the morning it asks to me love it (it says rate but the choices are love, not for me or nothing) What it doesn’t do is give me the option to save it to a playlist to come back to another day. And trust me some of the sleep stories keep me coming back. If you listen to something briefly and decide it’s not for you, it’s in your “recently played” list like it or not. How about waiting until after I’ve listened for over a minute before adding to the list of things I’ve listened to. The upshot is it can take some time and cause a lot of frustration to find the things I’ve previously enjoyed and would like to listen to again. There is no way of actually feeding back from the app itself, this is as close as it gets. Is all very push push push, bounce bounce bounce aren’t we super cool and great. I came here to relax. Please Sit down Shut up And allow me to curate my own experience thank you very much.

Latest update is causing random glitches
Halfway through playing my chosen soundscape, it randomly changes to another one I haven’t chosen. This is waking me up which is the exact opposite of what it is designed to do. I also now have to choose how long I want a particular track to play for rather than letting me just play it and turn it off when I want to. If it’s a glitch, please release an update. If it’s a designed in feature, it now sucks and needs to be reviewed.
Relaxation
I enjoy the meditation most mornings and puts me in a good frame of mind, as suffer from problems
Recent update broke soundscapes automatically looping.
The soundscapes now no longer autoplay and loop back on themselves and instead will play another unrelated soundscape or session that’s next in the recently played list once the track is finished. This is extremely immersion breaking and has woken me up a number of times due to the jarring nature of some of the changes between soundscapes. One second I’m asleep to the sound of a thunderstorm, the next I’m sitting in a sandstorm on Arrakis. I now have to favorite the specific soundscape I want to play and keep it as the only one in the favorites list if I want it to keep playing on loop.

I would easily give app five stars but ever since last update soundscapes only last 30 min. I cancelled my subscription. TERRIBLE UPDATE PLEASE FIX and I will happily renew

Could we add more book or movie or tv show related sleep stories, maybe more of them about wolves and some new ones about dragons if possible? Just a suggestion,

My sleep sounds have been borked
I’ve listened to Distant Ocean Surf all night for 8 months and it’s been crucial to my mental health. Starting Monday, it only plays 30 minutes at a time, then changes to something else, waking me up. I change the timer for the playlist but it has no practical effect.
Changed my life
Calm has changed my perspective of life, it has not been easy but I been making it a must do on most days. It has not been easy but it’s been more than 2 years now. My life was full of worries anxiety and depression. Calm has showed me a path. Do I still have anxiety and depression YES YES it will never go away but there is a much clearer understanding of how meditation helps me deal with everyday life.
30 min max for soundscapes
will this update be fixed? because it seems like a mistake. i basically only use this app as a sound machine to sleep at night and the automatic random switching is waking me up, stressing me out and giving me nightmares :(

Speed
Many stories, especially the newer ones, really ought to be curated for speed. A number of narrators speak too quickly, which negates the calming effect.
Honestly not that impressed
I paid for a year on this app thinking it would be a useful tool to add to my mental health regime. I enjoy binaural music and sleep meditation. But this app doesn’t offer me any more than I could do for free via YouTube. I hate the American voices on the meditations so I’m just using the music which is ok. Honestly not worth £40 -don’t waste your money.

Version 7 is GARBAGE
Do NOT download version 7 or newer until they fix this thing. They’ve done 4 emergency patch updates since 7 came out and they still can’t get it right. App went from perfect to dumpster fire overnight. You put on what you want to hear, and 30 minutes later the app decides on its own it’s going turn your selection off and its going to play sounds for you that you don’t want, never asked for, and certainly didn’t authorize. They’ve patched it 4x in 3 days and still can’t get it right. Total clown show at this point.

Bug: Apple Health Sleep Sync is Broken
The sleep sync doesn’t work. The sleep category is missing completely from my phone settings list thus leaving my chart blank. Please fix this bug asap.

Please can you give me the option to make the meditation longer , 20 or 30 minutes ..as in The Way app .
Sleep
I’ve been using Calm for a while. I listen to a meditation in the morning, but in bed I have my phone with me. I put Calm on one of the piano pieces. I tuck my phone under my pillow, and the piano music plays all night long. Each time I wake up, I’m comforted and I fall back to sleep. I tried one of those under the pillow aids, but it didn’t last all night. My phone works perfectly.

Another update and my history has now been erased except for a few random days in 2025.

It’s turned into a cashgrab
I’ve had this app for a long time now, but as the years have progressed, everything has become locked for the average user. Imagine struggling to sleep or suffering an anxiety attack and all of a sudden, all of your favourite soundscapes, songs and audiobooks are locked behind a paywall. There’s been a massive wave of apps turning inaccessible due to subscriptions and paywalls. You’d think ‘calm’ would have more integrity and loyalty to their users.
Good but needs new content
I have been using the app for a few years, mostly for the sleep meditations. There have not been any new ones for a really long time. Please record some fresh content!
Invaluable to calming the mind at night
Listening to the sleep stories keeps my mind from cycling and re-hashing events of the day. An older person’s bedtime story time. Or middle of the night!

Missing a trick
I loved this to start off with, and it can help with a lot, the sleep stories were a revelation,but it’s missing something Right now I’m enduring an issue with my home I have no direct control over, it means I’ve lost all the daylight to my living area. I’m pretty certain someone is lying to me but can’t absolutely prove it in a way that makes it impossible for them to deny it and it’s making me angry and depressed Looking at the world I won’t be the only person like this Thing is that feeling furious seems to be a banned emotion in calm. It won’t give me recommendations because I have reasonably justifiable woken up again feeling furious (it’s an if I do something about it without proof I risk losing my home of 25 years situation) I am emotionally intelligent enough to recognise I have to sone extent accept what is happening and flow with it but it feels as if I’m allowed on calm to feel tired, anxious or panicking but not furious. It would be better for me if I could acknowledge I feel this way in the morning and then get pointed towards something to help me manage it more easily- with that it would be 5 stars

No one to talk to
I paid for a yearly subscription on the 8 the of July. Now according to the app I don't have premium membership. I tried to message you multiple times on the website and Facebook but I can only talk to the useless ai... Scam...
I don’t like the new display screen
I have been using Calm for a number of years now, and I think it’s a really useful tool. I especially like the daily Jay and some of the sleep stories, especially the sort that feature travel and places. However, I don’t enjoy it when there is overpowering music alongside the narrative. It’s too intrusive. I don’t mind a theme tune, but, once the story gets underway, I just want to listen to the spoken word. I have tinnitus, which exacerbates that. Some of the stories that I used to like have not been the same since background music was introduced. Otherwise good.
Needs a refresh
I’ve had Calm for 2+ years now and while there is a new Daily Trip and Daily Jay every day, there have been no new sleep meditations in the 2+ years and that’s what I use most. In addition, the voice and diction of one narrator, Tamara Levitt, is so irritating that I can’t listen to anything she does. Time to consider moving to a different app.
Great content, not so great app
I love Calm but the app has really gone down hill. I don’t like the new design, the very social media style ‘what’s popular’ and all the Dailies. It was better when it was simple and easy to navigate.
