Works as promised
Working w/ AI to generate Latex texts and this program is perfect for editing and pdf, well done!
Unfit unless you're connected 24/7
Keep in mind that offline compilation is severely limited, which they conveniently tell you only when you purchase the whole thing.
Excellent, web-dependent LaTeX editor/compiler
This app does everything I want, as long as you have web-access to compile the code into PDFLaTeX. It’s small, light-weight (40M) and good context-highlighting. My only gripe is that the font/contrast is too small/too light. I need to maximise font-size for the entire iPad to get the text readable in VerbTeX with my old-geek eyes. Some in-app control of the fonts would make a lovely addition to the “settings” of this app.
Does not work with subfiles package!
I’ve unlocked the pro version to edit an existing project on the iPad. Sadly it doesn’t work with the subfiles package, so this is completely useless for me.
Good but
I cant inset images in my latex project with verb tex
Awesome
I really love this LaTeX Editor and works very good with my iPad
Unusable, use Overleaf instead
I am writing a document with no bibliography. I press the "generate" button. I am told "Generation of the PDF failed; see Log for details." The "Log" button opens up the completely useless BibTeX log file, and not the LaTeX log file I actually need.
Compiles and easy to use
It’s very functional, one minor annoyance is having to tap “Done” every time I want to compile — would be nice if that option were available always. (I’m using my ipad with a keyboard).
怎样搜索内容?
我用过安卓上的，非常好用。为什么IOS系统上的功能变化这么多？一是缺少了搜索功能，另外，原来底部的一排常用符号也没了
Needs very tidy files!
I guess it's good if you start projects from scratch and make sure that all your bibliography entries are tidied up nicely. But this is not what I'm doing most of the time; I'm often recycling old bibliogaphy files and that then may have double entries in them and a couple of other things going on that would cause warnings but no errors. In TeXstudio that's not a big deal as warnings are just skipped. In VerbTeX this is aparently fatal as the PDF cannot be built at all then. In my view this kinda misses the point of an app like this because you'd always use this as a quick fix, in the absence of a fully functional LaTeX distribution and editor. I don't see a point in writing a whol e paper on my iPad
Nice very nice
Nice
It’s almost 2022. End the half-baked storage support
We’re almost in 2022 and apps like this still have hard coded workflows for saving to Dropbox and box. iCloud Drive was added 4 or 5 years ago. It’s time to finally adopt it.
오프라인으로 사용하기에도 훌륭한 것 같아요!

Where is the help?
Says it all! In particular, I am trying to find out how to manage the files in a project. Please help :-) !!

Nice
Easy to use
Zero support for local file management = limited uses
Response to Dev: I do not have a Mac and moving Tex files between iPad and computer is tedious anyway. The app has no native support for the “Files” app in iOS. Enabling that would open a world of possibilities up. —- original review below —- I cannot use this app which forces me into Dropbox or Box (neither of which I use nor want to use) for cloud synchronizing options. The “local” mode puts files in some unknown location on my iPad rather than allowing me to select a location through iOS’s native Files app. If that was enabled, I could at least point to my Nextcloud cloud sync folder and have more flexibility in where files are stored. Another further limitation of the local mode is I can’t immediately tell how projects are saved. And since I cannot import any existing project and don’t have to time to create something from scratch, I’m left frustrated trying to setup this app for production.
I like it
It isn’t that bad
Where's the support to dark mode?
Impossible to write in the editor, the letter is the same color as the background ...

i use latex in my daily life, but i don’t know how this app operates for that i will give it 5 stars because i enjoy math
Basically unusable condition
I don’t know what these good reviews come from. iPad Pro 11, take forever to just compile a plain document with the sentence “hello world”. Zero star
Does the job.
It works like it is supposed to, though I find myself having to download separate apps to learn how to use it. It’s good though.

Pretty Good
First, it is totally free. Second, I just use it to write notes. It basically meets my demands.
File folder location is hard to set
This instruction does not work when I try to set up a folder to work with the app. “You can easily backup your projects and generated PDFs by using iTunes -> Apps -> File Sharing -> Choose VerbTeX -> Save to...”
Excellent latex tool
Among the many TeX editors .. this is the one that worked with me especially when using other languages .. The editor need more improvements in the user friendly manner ..
Not great
It is easy to use, but unless you have an account with their cloud you cannot use your script to transfer or continue to edit on your computer. The documents do not get save unless you remember to click save, this can be improved. It is nice to create on the go documents and then send the pdf, but that’s about it.

the best free tex interpreter for ipad
most macros like amsmath ,amsthm is built in in this app and it really helps! It would be better if some other packages like ctex(Chinese) can be used.
usefulless
really bad, very complicate (if possible) to open existing tex files
Good!
Good app. Needs internet to write to PDF but hey it's free.
Keine Struktur!

Best way to write Latex instead of PC
Y professor gave us an unclear guide on how to install latex on windows so I found this gem of an app and works quite easy. Thanks so much
License/ Terms immediately turned me off
You may not use the app to do this.... You may not use the app to do that.... Blah blah blah. I get why developers want to limit their liability, but telling me what I can and can't use your app for is elitist. Besides, what may be legal in one Country may not be legal in another. The US has a First Amendment. Writing a satire piece about the President of Turkey is illegal in Turkey and would land me in jail. Fortunately I already know enough LaTeX not to need a dedicated app. I'll stick to a normal text edit, thank you. Or maybe just learn MarkDown.
Great Latex editor, but some changes needed.
This is a pretty extensive latex app for the affordable price of FREE. It contains built-in error logging, support for math, tables, and pretty much anything available from Latex. Where it lacks is the deep located editing interface (you have to tap multiple times to go back to home screen). There also is no built-in documentation for supported packages and compatibility. You basically have to be an expert in Latex to know how to run it. I will contact the Dev directly and ask for these changes, as well as typing suggestions of commonly used functions (\amsmath, \overline, \sum).
Freezes on project page
The cloud feature is unusable because the app freezes on the project page (can't select anything).
Free but not particularly useful
Good interface, easy to use and does the job. However, as there is a limit on the number of total files (not just .tex) for the free version, ultimately for my purposes it’s not very useful. On a computer I can edit and compile latex documents for free, I’m looking for the same functionality on my iPad.
Very straightforward
This is a rather simple GUI very similar to most latex editors and it clearly denotes special words in different colors so debugging is very easy and the experience is very similar to that of a pc. The documents appear to compile fast to a pdf even though they it must be near impossible to compile as fast on an iOS device as a pc. The group of creators appear to be members of the open source community and their terms/conditions are less than two pages in clear English. They take no responsibility for fault but are not making a penny from us and are offering an identical way to compile pdf’s when your notebook or desktop is out of reach but you have your phone handy. 5/5 would recommend to anyone who typesets in Tex and owns an iPhone with a little free space because this app is a godsend and operates exactly as you would hope.
useless
There is no way of opening an existing tex file. It only allows you writing a single tex which is pretty lame since you don't even know the location of the file to add figures or references.
Good but...
Can't complain much since it's free, but why are there no line number references? If I'm trying to troubleshoot, I have to count the lines to find the error? Please fix, that's a serious handicap when you get to large amounts of code
Crashes without saving
The interface is minimal, but workable -- ehich is exactly what I was looking for: basically a text editor with syntax highlighting and a quick "preview PDF" button. It's free, doesn't seem to be crippled in any way, and there are no ads that I've seen. However, like many resource-intensive iOS apps, it can sometimes crash. If it auto-saved on previewing a PDF, I could live with that (it is free, after all)...but, it apparently doesn't, so if you don't remember to compulsively click the save button, you're risking severe frustration. It's a shame, because this could be really useful.
Not a cloud solution
This app doesn't work well with cloud drives. You can export pdfs, but you can't really export .tex files, or edit .tex files that are in Dropbox. If you only write Tex on one device, it might work for you, but it's too frustrating for me to use.
Good editor
I use a Bluetooth keyboard. Generating PDF needs a bit of work. Also, my folders are on Dropbox and the sync needs a bit of work.
Terrible
Can't sync with Dropbox at all. Terrible UI.
Very useful
It's a great app. Very useful for viewing tex files. Few suggestions areas sling files from other apps like Dropbox for sharing. Tex highlighting, and folder view for projects.
Buggy?
Sometimes it won't compile the actual tex, it will compile who-knows-which older version —even just after saving the document—. Sometimes it will generate the actual tex, it seems it does it in a random way. That is so annoying.
Crashes
After the last update, the preference is not working. Although the update is very important since it links Dropbox with the application, but it crashes whenever I try to tab on the preference. Please try to fix this issue.
