Great service with the best cars and drivers. Always on time and communicate updates and pick up times.
Terrible service and app
I used Blackland to book a black car service to pick up myself and my elderly mother from the airport after a cross country moving flight. Despite their promises to keep up with flight delays and my manual rescheduling in app, they had double booked my chauffeur and did nothing to honor the reservation. Phone and chat is slow and the AI is unable to help with anything last minute. Not at all worth the premium over a reserved Uber or Lyft.
App update is a step backwards
I have been a frequent customer and user of Blacklane in Europe and USA for the past 3+ years. I have found the app and the service great and perfectly suited to my needs. The new version of the app (April 2026) is a BIG step backwards and practically every way. The user interface is less user friendly and more clunky. It’s full of bugs giving “no internet” and “BLToolKit” errors frequently. The icing on the cake is the color scheme and aesthetic are less modern and more amateurish than before. Who ever designed and built the new version of the app should be take to a field, buried up to their neck, and beaten repeatedly with a four pronged garden hoe. Otherwise, it’s a very good service and I definitely recommend.
Cumbersome slow sign-in process
They only use email codes for signing in which take 2-3 minutes to arrive. This is frustrating when traveling and unacceptable for a car service provider like this. Take a note from Uber or Lyft!
App is great, service not so much
UPDATE: adding a star because blacklane reached out to me and has been working to make things right. Will hive them another shot in a couple months and update review then. ******** So the app itself is great. It’s very easy to book, communicate, and manage my booking through the app. The chauffeur… not so much. I hired a chauffeur through blacklane to pick my family up from the airport. After a 10 hour flight, the last thing I wanted to do was worry about getting home. The good: -the chauffeur brought the car seat I requested for my child and it was the right size -he got us from the airport to my home in one piece -even though he went to the wrong terminal, he communicated his progress well as he was correcting his mistake. -the car was clean -he tried to play kid music in the car to entertain my daughter, while I had him turn it off, I appreciate the effort The bad: -I paid for being picked up and greeted in the terminal so it would be easier on me, and to have help with the bags. He went to the wrong terminal so I had to haul all my family’s bags and meet him outside at the curb (a google search of the flight # would have given him the info he needed to be at the right terminal) -he installed the car seat for my daughter wrong, and when I told him it was installed wrong, he argued with me saying he did it right and that I was wrong (he only used the back strap and didn’t attach the seatbelt. I confirmed it was installed wrong via looking up the owners manual online) -he was texting other people while driving -while he was trying to play music for my daughter, he was playing it off youtube and searched for songs while driving (every time he texted the music cut out because he changed apps, that’s why I initially noticed it from where I was sitting) -after I had him stop playing music, he googled the Spain vs Portugal game and kept the stats on his phone, watching them update WHILE HE WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. Honestly, i’ve had uber drivers that were safer and more professional than my chauffeur. I submitted a review explaining what happened but haven’t heard anything back from blacklane. And I still got charged the extra cost for in terminal pick up even though I didn’t receive in terminal pick up because he went to the wrong terminal, so that’s not great either.
Best luxury car service in OC/LA
This has been the absolute best chauffeur service I’ve used and I’ve used a lot. I’ll be a repeat customer. The door to door service, well kept cars, and friendly drivers are wonderful.
Be forewarned—you’re charged whether you ride or not
I’d avoid this service until they improve their business model. I booked my first trail ride from the airport to my home with my family. Unfortunately, the airline lost one of our bags. While in the middle of dealing with that, the driver said he had to leave since he had another booking. Of course, Blacklane insisted on charging full price without providing the service. No credit offered and no support provided. I would highly recommend staying flexible by booking with one of the rideshare services which can be cancelled and rebooked much more flexibly. Avoid this scammy service if possible.
Could be better
Needs to automatically add bookings into the app, a pain having to manually add them from the confirmation email every time
“No service in your area”
I really wanted to try this. Everywhere I clicked in my are it kept saying we don’t do this area. Maybe I’ll try again next year.
Confusing design
New design is very confusing. Cannot add more people easily in confirmation date. It’s not clear at check out.

Our driver picked us up at Charles de Gaulle as dropped us off at our hotel in the opera district he handled four passengers worth of luggage. Very comfortable and professional service we have booked another ride start in July
Terrible for families
Horrible experience. Road with them a few times over the week. Twice they forgot one of the car seats, and they had no backup plan, so my family had to split up and find alternative ways home. In both cases, their drivers lied and said they had both car seats, so we did not get a refund. Shows both poor ethics and a bad experience

It will be nice to also see the arrival time when reached destination.
Buggy and under-featured app
In just a few minutes it showed me 3 completely different ETAs for my chauffeur. I haven’t found a way to share my location with him.

Absolute joke of a luxury service
Driver showed up in an absolutely beat up Cadillac and I refused the ride they proceeded to charge me $500 for the ride. I ended up having to refute the charge with my bank. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. I’ve had regular uber x’s in better condition than the car they sent me. Do not waste your money

I loved Blacklane and their service. I loved that the prices were transparent and consistent. Suddenly, without warning, one hour before booking my ride, the price has doubled. This is not the type of management I can recommend anymore for businesses or individuals who appreciate predictable service and transparency. We will be using a local alternative through concierge service moving forward.
A new essential travel tool
I discovered Blacklane on this trip to Europe and wish I’d used it on our last trip, too. We are 2 retired Americans and in prior trips (Italy, France, Spain) we’d left our taxi rides to “chance” but this time I wanted a first-rate, dependable driver. Blacklane makes it easy to book, stays in close touch in the days (and hours/minutes) prior to pick up, and their staff is so courteous and professional, the cars are big and clean. Yes it more expensive than a taxi you grab (at chance) but you know exactly what you’ll pay (it’s all settled in advance via credit card) and there are no surprises. I’d not hesitate to use Blacklane again.
Terrible service and buggy app
The app pre-authorized charges on my credit card for the same amount of money over 5 times because something mistakenly said my flight was delayed 30 minutes (it was actually early) and moved my pick up time 30 minutes later. I could have gotten a taxi in 3 minutes instead! When I tried to change the time back, it never updated and my card was charged again and again!This app is filed with bad bugs. This experience was a disaster. I was offered nothing and I do not trust Blacklane at all. The cars and drivers are the same as uber but just more expensive. Deleted my account.

Overall app is 7/10. Very unreliable at critical times during the trip. The app gave me updates on the driver status as we exited the airplane, but as we got out of the airport, looking for the driver, the app would not connect to communicate with the driver.

Unable to edit car type within App, payment not accepted, switching through various types does nothing. Unable to have other party scan code and add to their black lane app. AI is so poorly designed, a complete waste of time and resources. Chat with human should be within 2-3 minutes, not 15 plus.

No accountability for their drivers
Driver didn't show up, no meet and greet at London airport. Blacklane still charged me and fought credit card company when I charged it back. There driver was supposed to provide Meet and Greet and never got out of the car.

Total downfall
Uber with a bad lipstick. I have been using blacklane for 15 years. It was elegant, it was proper and now it’s just the same platform as uber but with an ugly interface and “vibe” photos on the homepage and random graphics and photos to make it look “aesthetic”. It’s a chauffeur service, so act like it. Also this is my second review I’m sure my first one was deleted. Can’t to anything about it. It’s just sad.
Verbesserungsfähig
Leider muss man erst alle Daten eingeben um dann zu erfahren, dass an diesem Ort (hier Flughafen Bologna nach City Bologna) keine Fahrten angeboten werden. Warum kann man dies nicht direkt abfragen. Weiterer Kritikpunkt: Bei Standortauswahl auf der Karte ist man irgendwo auf der Welt und kann nicht rauszoomen um schnell woanders hinzukommen. Ansonsten für andere Reisen schon gute Erfahrungen gemacht wenn alles passt.
Nationwide Excellence
5 years Blacklane Services in multiple cities and I’ve seen nothing but nationwide excellence in their service. They have been excellent excellent app that is easy to use and they are always available by both text messaging and phone. They obviously have an excellent system down pat, but I would highly recommend them to any business traveler.

Airport Transfers
In older versions you were prompted to enter flight information. In latest version there appears to be no prompt or way to enter flight information. In addition, Blacklane customer support is not very helpful.
Add Booking
Unless I’ve missed it, the app would be more user friendly if you could add a booking that has been made by a travel company on your behalf, similar to the majority of hotel groups.

Missed Expectations
Ordered a ride in NYC expecting a luxury class car but ended up with a chevy suburban I could have booked through Uber for half the price. The chat support in the “new” app is broken and no way to make contact. Very poor first experience and unfortunately headed back to Uber Black.
Die Fahrt war Top
Die Fahrt selber war gut. Der Fahrer sehr freundlich. Dem ganzen Ablauf fand ich nicht so gut. Ich konnte die anstehende Fahrt in der App erst sehen als ich schon im Fahrzeug gesessen habe. Für die kommenden Fahrten die bereits über Emirates gebucht sind habe ich über die App also keinen Überblick.

Beware of Price Gouging Practices
I don’t think I will ever use Blacklane again after being charged a $315 “demand pricing” increase for a 120 mile airport transfer.
Broken functionality
Has a lot that can be improved, but most importantly the chat function has been broken since I’ve downloaded the app.
