Great tool for Fire, Police , emergency Management, weather forecasters and Preppers
Great tool for weather forecasters as well as emergency managers and preppers. The sun and the flares and solar storms can greatly affect fire, police and EMS radios, 800 mhz , short wave etc. This app is worth every penny for the data and education offered through this app. Graphics are incredible as well. I’ve already referred many colleagues to this app. Keep up the good work.
Scam
Was charged directly my developer $39.99. No free teial. Reported tonapple
Good warnings but
The interface is extremely not user friendly, lots of icons with no descriptions and long loading times to try and figure out what everything does
Alertes non adapté
Je reçois des alertes la nuit alors que ma région n’est pas touché et je ne peut pas changer le dispositif de notification , c’est un logiciel pour les américains du nord
Too Much For Me
Hello, Developer, and thank you for your kind response. I will certainly check back and update my review. All the best! __________ Original Review: I really wanted to like this App, especially given all the great reviews. However, for me, the Graphics and Colors are disorganized and too intense. As well, I didn’t like the background images where the Alerts were. The images took away from the written information, as well as drawing your focus away from the icons at the top and even dulling one of the icons at the bottom that I initially thought was just a part of the graphics. Then the graphics with the huge Sun coming into focus, etc. I’m so sorry, but it was just too much for me. This App has a lot of great information. It just needs a huge UI cleanup. I would suggest that people try it out in spite of my review because it does have awesome information and some might not care about the UI/graphics/etc.
Good app to follow the sun
I’ve been using Solar Alert for over a year now and honestly it’s become one of the most interesting apps on my iPhone. The alerts are usually pretty accurate and it makes me feel calm knowing I can get ready if there’s a solar storm coming. Overall, it’s really good for those of us who like to keep an eye on solar activity and how it can affect us day by day.
Is this a where’s Waldo thing maybe
There is nothing there but an ad. And a push to buy. Well, I suppose it did was my time.
Great app
It’s great. Only thing that would make it five stars for me is a way to go forward and back in an easy one line list what the history and projected flares are so it’s simple by time and date. I like what’s there but sometimes I just want a simple way to look at things and have a clear outline of what was and what’s ahead
US oriented
This app mainly for US citizens only...
Not free
Although not expensive $9.99/year basic plan, it’d be transparent to disclose in the App Store intro
The more you know..
The more you know, the more you appreciate this app.
No. You wouldn’t die.
Makes you pay a subscription for something that could at most turn off or disable everything for a week.
Great app needs a bit of tweaking
I love this app. I love the alerts that I get however I find the app itself really hard to navigate and it’s really hard to get back to any information that you got in an alert if you missed it.
Con fallas, ni he podido probarla
Cuando quiere se conecta y cuando no dice que cheque todo, pero aquí el internet esta por demás
Navigation could be clearer
I find it hard to understand all the icons. I wish the navigation was clearer. That’s my biggest issue. Other than that, I like the app.
Reliable
Easy to use and understand
Doesn’t work on my iPhone
iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 17.2.1. Location: FL USA. Doesn’t work on my iPhone. Shuts down after approximately 10 seconds from start. Can see only “greeting page”, then it knocks out
Good app so far, but……
Have had the app for a couple years, and it’s great except for one inconvenient item - it will not load up, will not function, when using a VPN. It is a pain to exit the VPN, use the app, and then regain the VPN. Other than that, no complaints at all. 😊
Ojala revisen.
Please more detailed explanation for the metrics.
What would be useful would be explanations for kp, magnetic fields etc. A guide to read the charts would be perfect. Thank you. Thank you for your response to original message. I did notice the “i” button on each panel and I noticed the pop up after clicking it. I assume that the “i” button is information? I would use the “?” Symbol to make more standard to programming practices. Second, the pop up window information is too simplistic. I propose that you add a link to another site that explains the metrics used in X-rays or Kp, etc. a scale would be useful that explains low levels, mid levels, danger levels or imminent danger scales. Explain what levels we need to be aware of such kp 10 or cme directed event aimed at earth with Kerrington event potential. Third, perhaps allow users to filter out solar activities, kp3 events and higher only or any of the other solar events scales.
Prepare for future events
This app gives you an eye on our planet.
iPhone 15 pro max crashes
Doesn’t start any more. Reinstalled to no avail…
Information that’s difficult to get otherwise
Great app. It pulls together information that is time-consuming to get otherwise. My only complaint is that the user interface is too complicated for my liking. But eventually you do get used to it.
Too much drama and egregious exaggeration via "Critical" warning notifications!
I've had this app installed for six years, and while the information content is generally OK when one is looking at the app dashboard, this app CONSTANTLY exaggerates the risk level to the hysterical via exaggerated alert notifications! I received two "Critical" alerts today for a "moderate" solar storm. Please ramp down the hysteria, and only send out alerts that correctly and accurately characterize the actual risk!
Essential app
This could save your home and your family from disaster.
Subscription required?
Tried to use the app but I can’t get past the “activate trial” because it mandates I select one of the two paid subscription options. I want to try the app without signing up for anything.
Fantastic
Great tool to have. Many don’t realize how atmospheric changes effect us.
Doesn’t allow trial period?
I would like to try it but just takes me to signup screen.
Earth and space science is fun!
The ability to see the aurora in the southeast coast of Massachusetts is rare. This app provides the ability to know if the aurora might be visible here and we share this with our Whitehorse Beach community. WHAT A BLAST! Thank you to all the scientists at NASA and NOAA you all rock!!!!
App crashes
App crashes after 10 seconds, cancelled my subscription.
More app than I need
I need a low-data app that simply informs me when solar activity will be high. This app is beautiful, but it has far more features than I require. Push notifications are frequent for relatively minor activity and the English language notifications suffer from poor grammar, which makes me question their veracity. I’m going back to the Space Weather app.
The app is lacking
Although it has some great features. Regarding the national power grid, it only monitors the status of the north east portion. It does not monitor other grid locations. I am not sure I will continue using thisapp as I live in the west.
Captivating App
Honestly I don’t understand more than 50% of what the app is showing me, but the design and layout are so captivating it doesn’t really matter if the sun explodes or not.
Counter intuitive
The most counter intuitive app I've seen in years. Only way to use is to accept one month free subscription which automatically upgrades to paid one in a month, and I'm having a hard time trying to cancel it. The interface is impractical and close to impossible to read and use. Wish it becomes a great app eventually, but at present I'm giving it the worst possible rate.
Nice App
Thx guys I like this app use it everyday...
No se actualiza
He contratado por más de 1 año y ahora en la renovación no se puede actualizar me manda error
Solar education.
With a little effort I have learned a great deal about the sun and the effects it has here on earth, and on those who are in space. This app is a must for those who like science and astronomy. Five stars!
Useless - until it actually does something!
Does it do anything? - seems like it's stuck on a flash screen!! Or my internet is too slow - however even on fast internet it just shows me a flash screen?
4star for now
Looks like im the first to report, just downloaded it, I am impressed with the over all look of the app and has some very informative measure to take if events should arise. Will rate 5 stars once I see how the push notifications work, could be awhile as looks like our sun is quiet at the mo
Crashes on iPhone 6
Used to work fine on my 4s, but now it crashes after a couple of seconds on my iPhone 6.
Worth the price!
The only app that has a collection of reliable sources, that funnels the important info directly to you with the option of getting as nerdy as you like with the science. This information has helped me stay safe during the recent solar events and I can’t recommend them enough.
Crashes on launch
App crashes at every launch. How do I disable the subscription if I can't launch the app?
Pretty good!
The content is good and quiet informative. I like the videos and the pics of the sun and is well up to date. Only had one issue where it crashed on a refresh but only happened once and haven't had an issue since. I haven't had an alert yet so I'm not sure of the response time and accuracy. I spent $1.99 on it as it dropped in price. I'm happy with the purchase.
