Brilliant Store for online shopping
I love the products and the price matching that John Lewis offers. An added bonus is delivery for collection is free and quick.
Customer Service AI
I tried to ring customer service about a broken 8 month old coffee machine. The AI bot could not understand my name, phone number nor my address, it said it would put me through to a human but the line just went dead. Very poor service.

I needed things at short notice for a weekend away and John Lewis came up trumps!

Stop forcing updates
I like the app but it feels like each time I want to buy something the app forces me to update (a sad trend in app currently). Do you want me to just leave it?

Very user friendly
Wish list function doesn’t work
Not sure if this applies only to iPhones but the wish list refuses to open and has fine for weeks now despite reinstalling and updating the software. It currently won’t allow my to add items to my wish list either.
Delivery charge
I paid extra delivery charge expecting both items arrive together but only one can arrive on the date I wanted the other item arrives 3 days later which is free anyway.
So time consuming
Am a member for many years with account, unable to sign in. Had to use guest checkout, so unable to use promo code (Not member) unable to get large purchase on monthly terms. Even when I put my membership details in nothing was updated. Found it very frustrating and so time consuming, that I wondered why I was purchasing from John Lewis!
Updates frustrating
It operates well and functions but frustratingly there are waaay too many updates its constant! The IT team needs to think about the customer experience, can they save the updates and group them together? If I find there is an update now I actually sometimes don’t use the app and I’ll find another retailer.

Spent ages choosing some lovely ANUA products for my mum, went through PayPal and verification with Lloyds but was denied the purchase! I’m going to have to do the whole process again through Boots, wish me luck!

The John Lewis application is a well designed companion to the well known European department stores. The design is clear and stylish allowing users to quickly navigate to their desired section. Each product item page has a high quality gallery of images as well as a brief description. The main home page is unique in that users can shop from the newest arrivals, by departments or by product offers which shows deals that are offered with the purchase of a select item whether it be a free or discounted piece of merchandise. This application is well worth a download.
Where’s the click n collect option
There’s no CNC to select during app purchases so annoying

iPad version no longer works on latest iOS for iPad
I can understand keeping up with updates but my iPad runs 16.7.11 and there’s no update available, this JL version only runs on 17?

Don’t blame covid
I recently purchased a cashmere coat (French) and it was stuffed like a bag of crisps into a too small paper bag. This exquisite limited edition garment was unapologetically treated like groceries without any explanation other than a dismissive shrug when I protested . I expected much better from JL but there was noone to complain to . I’m peeved and disappointed that customer service has deteriorated to this extent at this hitherto brilliant shop. No response yet from customer card and yet (foolishly ) because I am an overseas visitor I expected at the very least an apology . So whatever above average rating I would (after 25years) have unhesitatingly given JL I can no longer . caveat emptor.

A Store of Excellence instore and online .
I have been a customer for many years both on line and I store. The customer service is always consistent and reliable. John Lewis sell quality branded products and competitive prices and offers, if there is a problem they are always happy to try and solve it. The John Lewis app allows customers view and buy products with ease and return if unwanted with the same ease. I love that all receipts are keep on the app if you use the John Lewis Card.
Great Shop, Great Staff, useless App
In shop experience, product quality are top notch. Now using the app and being forced to update the app every single month to even browse or check your account is incredibly bad coding. This isn’t a bank app, just a normal retail store, why do sales or events or any minor or mid update require to download the app to the point you can’t use the current one?!?

Always have problems paying. I’d much rather use this than Amazon but it’s too hard

My nearest John Lewis is now sadly over an hour away but ordering online and collecting at my local post office is a really quick and easy way to help with this. Really easy ordering and deliveries are always really reliable and speedy considering where I now live.
