Magic Hour
Great App, great magic hour information
I feel scammed
I paid the .99¢ one time fee for unlocking locations and future dates. However when I go to add a location, it crashes each time. .99¢ is nothing, but it feels as if I was scammed where I paid a price and it doesn’t work.
parfait, sauf les alertes
simple et fonctionnelle cette application, dommage que les alertes soient sur les golden hours uniquement et pas aussi sur les heures de lever ou coucher du soleil
Not easy to delete
I’m sure it’s interesting to some, but my weather app tells me sunrise and sunset times. I don’t need all the extra. Currently, having difficulty canceling the app. Not in subscriptions on my phone, so extra hoops to jump.
Can change default location of widget after paying?
It’s a bit quirky to change default location especially for the widget. I open the app and change to my location there, but the widget doesn’t seem to update. It would be best to follow my location if I travel vs having to configure it. “Current location” in the widget is selected but doesn’t seem to work. On the widget it looks like the data is correct and it shows my location when I select it to open from widget, but the title doesn’t update and shows Cupertino even though I removed it.
Fantastic Help
I love this app! Simple, accurate, and easy to use for planning time outside and my photography.
Notifications don’t work
Notifications originally world but haven’t worked in months.
Wonderful app
I use it in my photography frequently! Great job!
Not Accurate
It’s a very cool concept, but every time I go to use the app to track golden hour, it’s always at least 30 minutes to an hour off. It has my location correct, but never the time of golden hour. An example of this is when I’m getting ready for a shoot and I see that it’s actually golden hour right then and I’ll check the app and it’ll say it’s in 30 minutes and when the shoot time arrives, golden hour is long gone.
Widget doesn’t update
This app is great, except that the countdown widget gets “stuck” unless I open the app (which defeats the purpose of having a widget). This is a fairly major flaw for me because the widget is 90% of what I want the app for.
Used most days
Ok such a simple good app. I use it as a widget and always know when it’s coming. Great for photo planning or just enjoying beautiful light.
Opened once and kept crashing…
Open once in fresh install, and then just crashing constantly, instant crash clicking the icon, reinstall didn’t resolve the problem.
Au pixel près
Super app mais il manque quelques minutes …cil est 5h59 et le soleil n’est pas encore là
Couldn’t be more satisfied
The app not only tells you when the light will be golden outside, but also enables you to set notifications for when the golden hour starts as well as for any amount of time before the event occurs. There is a pro option but it isn’t needed for the average person, it merely allows you to monitor a remote location. You need to open the app to reload your location, but once you do, you’re good to go with the widget. Speaking of which: the widget is one of the best designed widgets out there. Not only does it give you a countdown, but it changes color depending on the point in the golden hour you’re in. This is by far one of the best free apps I have on my phone.
Disappointed
application is graphically cool but can’t the option to see through a satellite view the position of the golden hour, there is only the hour ...
Need to know!
I love this app because I need to know 30 minutes before the sunsets for my work. Thank you Magic Hour!
Time way off
Keeps starting magic hour at 1030 pm for Cupertino, Ca. It’s dark by 8….
Needs to be available for Apple Watch too…
I love this app, it is one of my favourites. The only downside is that it is not available for Apple Watch.
Version gratuite très limitée
La recherche de “golden hour” à une date à venir demande de passer à la version payante
App keeps crashing
My app crashes after every few mins of use
A great app for taking photographs.
It’s hard to find a good app like this. This is one of them.
No instructions, can’t change location
Can’t figure out how it works. I can add a location but cannot access it. When I try to choose a future date, I get the message “calendar events not available please create a new location for calendar events.” Although I do, nothing happens.
Good idea However
It will tell when dawn peaks and when sunset starts. Although I think it could use more options. Such as more visuals. But it is very punctual. Fairly reliable.
Kinda works but lots of quirks
Says sunrise is at 19:13 PM. This is wrong re the obvious time zone calc error but also wrong because you shouldn't combine 24 hour time and AM/PM. Would be useful to be able to choose a location and date to see good times for holiday planning.
Pixbynes
I have a problem with location update🙄
Wonderful App
Simple, clean, and informative. Just beautiful. I use it frequently especially when journaling in the early morning. I’m not a photographer but still love this elegant app.
Paid
No future dates
Very good app!
Useful, I use it very often and I love it :)
Good, but...
Need to be able to set location manually. I'd like a list of locations, so I can plan my holidays!
Amazing!!!
I love using this app. I love it love it love it love it love it. It pops up on my iPhone. Gives me plenty of time for my drone up in the sky and get a full moon shot. Amazing. Just hoping the Lord sends me an upgraded DJI drone a Mavic three with a full tiltable camera because my older Mavic two does not have a low light capability, but other than that, the app is fantastic love it reach out to me if you would like me to give him more formal review will do something else. I’d be happy to help you. God bless and have a great day and a lovely evening and enjoyed tonight’s
Bad
This app blows Same simple wallpaper every day THIS BLOWS
Finally a decent interface
Easily the cleanest, simplest golden-hour app I have found. Only dropped a star because you can't enter different locations - so planning a shoot in a different country doesn't seem to be possible until you get there. Customisation of BG images would be a nice touch but not important. Thanks you for saving us from hideous amateur designs!
Buggy
Times are correct but the software still has bugs. It says sunrise is at 7:05pm? I don't think it deals with southern hemisphere well. And my next magic hour is in 30 hours? Maybe it only happens once every 2 days?!
Can’t live without
This is crucial information that I cannot live without. I need to know when I can find the best light. I need to know the next full Moon. The Moon should always be capitalized, it is a proper noun.
Not working properly…
The alarms in the app don’t seem to be working…
Very Elegant
Nice interface, with everything on one page, laid out in an easy-to-use format. I’ll definitely use it a lot. It needs a companion app, if like me, you are planning sunset events several weeks in advance.
Great!
Does exactly what it says on the tin. Helpful to a beginner photographer like myself when chasing great lighting conditions. Would have rated it 4 stars if there was a way to set an alarm via notifications to make sure you get to the location on time. Other than that, I'm finding it really helpful. Thanks!
Great overview of the entire Magic Hour…
I have utilized this app. for years. It is fantastic in every way. All the info. you need to plan, *especially for photographers. I use it a whole lot. All of the necessary info. with great graphics. Well-done, highly recommended if you’re seeking this type of information, or you need it.
Forced in App Purchase
There was no opportunity to set a location at install and it loaded with some obscure long/lat. Tried to set location and it is a fee for $0.99!!! If I knew I had to pay I probably would have paid for DLCA. Nope, not now, not ever if you are forcing an in-app payment. Business decisions are ruining your content.
Simple but good
Bit surprised to read the negative reviews, works fine for me in Australia and always has. Useful enough that I downloaded twice (after losing all apps). What would be really good would be a gallery of sunrise /sunset pics - with geotags.
Got it for vacation, but it is changing my days
I downloaded this app to alert me when sunset was coming while I was on vacation, so my friends and I could make a fire and be there for sunset. But now that vacation is over, I find I welcome the little ping that reminds me to shift my mindset to one of observation and enjoyment. That’s a pretty high achievement for an app! Five stars. Two small suggestions to the developers: a moonrise notification would be welcome anytime the moon might be visible. I’d also like a notification as an option for when Magic Hour ends.
Not accurate
The app is set with location on. The time is off by 6 hours. The temperature is off by 13 degrees F. Downloaded twice. Same inaccurate details. Pass.
Good app...
... but for the love of God change the alert tone (or allow custom tones). I keep thinking I've had a text message when it's magic hour.
