Great App
Works like a champ! Accurate! Easy to use Reads color temp + exposure Since it is on my phone I always have it with me
Bait and switch
I hate apps that advertise as free and after downloading and opening for the first time you immediately find out it is subscription based. Another useless app that was downloaded and immediately deleted.
Wont even work ?
Im pointing the camera at my subject and the shutter speed and aperture don’t even move to tell me the reading ? Even when changing subjects it won’t give me a reading And I paid for the “premium” version
duplicate charge for pro mode
I owned pro mode on my old apple account, but had to make a new account and want to move my pro mode subscription over to the new apple account. There's no way to contact you, please help
Been using for years, film comes out well exposed
Simple, accurate, easy to use. Have metered with all ranges of film iso on a handful of cameras with excellent results. Use your sunny 16 to double check yourself. It’d be nice to have the log feature keep all my saved photos within the app, so that I don’t have to screenshot/export to camera roll every single time I meter.
Scam
Paid for the premium features, they are not working.
needs more shutter speeds
i need 1/50 for my cinema camera:( please ad
Hides pricing
Just be up front on your pricing. Stop trying to hide it. And I’m certainly not buying your app without a guest preview. Odd. Big marketing fail.
Okay but feels stale
I like it generally but without additional features like notes on camera roll or somehow to sync film camera meters/shots (multiple at a time) it seems it has great potential but could be better. For me being able to have the meter reading and to take notes on each from on different cameras would be the sweet spot. Sync that to iCloud document and be able to export as almost a shot list for each roll of film (120/220/35mm) and notes on speed and processing would be truly worth $29 but this feels as is like an incomplete app — no real improvements (there is an old app calls Film Rolls that doesn’t work anymore but allowed frame per frame notes and processing notes) so would add significant value. Right now this app should be like $2.99 a year. Mismatch in value and upgrades at $29 a year…..every year!
BETTER THAN MY SEKONIC SPOT METER!!!
Wow, just wow. My Sekonic l358 has the known issue where trying to spot meter black areas give you the dreaded EU error. I like to photograph dynamic scenes and that doesn’t work for me. I then stumbled across this app on metal fingers’ YouTube channel. Wow. I get such accurate spot meter readings that I use this for the Zone system readings for complicated scenes and get perfect exposures every time! Brilliant. Thats the fastest I’ve ever bought an app.
Predatory pricing model
Can’t even test this app without providing payment info. Feels like the developer is trying to make money on people who forget about subscriptions rather than people who use and value their product. This pricing model is not consumer-friendly.
App support?
It says the link is broken? Do I just do a search to find out all the bells and whistles? I am excited and looking forward to making the best use of it. Thank you!
Needs better indicator of under/over exposure
If you set limits in the app for shutter and iso, say for shooting film, it may go all the way down to the fastest f stop possible, but there isn’t an under exposure warning. You still need to use the histogram and factor that in.

Must have for film photographers
Simple, easy to use, works. This app allowed me to confidently begin my venture into film photography and continues to be essential to this day.

No zoom/spot meter?
My fault, I should have checked more closely before buying, but there is no zoom or spot meter, which means the reading is for a large field of view from where you are standing and can’t be reduced to a smaller area. Makes it hard to get an accurate reading in mixed light. oh well, guess I’m stuck with it until the subscription ends since I already paid :/
Why not saying upfront this is a paid app?
As above
Simple, clear, great.
I’m a professor of photography. On the behalf of my intro-small format film courses, I’ve tested many light meter apps. This app one of my top 3, Pocket Light Meter and Lightme being the others. Be sure to adjust the exposure stop settings for an even more streamlined interface.
Just had to profit, huh?
Well I liked this app until they uninstalled it from my phone only to make it a subscription service. Off to find another free service.
Good light meter app, with one thing to improve
Overall this app has been really good. It’s accurate to the film cameras I own that still have working meters, and it’s generally quick and easy to use. One improvement that could be made is a way to save multiple profiles for f-stop and shutter speed settings. I shoot between different cameras whose highest shutter speeds can vary from 1/500 to 1/4000 and it can be annoying having to change the max shutter speed in the settings every time. The same issue applies over to f-stops. It’s primarily an issue when the app starts suggesting settings which aren’t possible on the camera, requiring me to go in and change the max shutter speed/min f-stop.
SPOT METERING GONE!
Aside from having to pay $20 a year for this app, they’ve removed the one feature I used the most, spot metering. Not being able to meter for shadows or highlights is extremely frustrating. Please bring this feature back. It’s one of the reasons I picked this app over all the other ones regardless of the $20 yearly subscription. It’s what made it unique.
Some bugs but overall a great light meter app
The histogram won’t load and the buttons on the bottom are too close to the edges so it’s hard to press. I’m on an iPhone 13 Pro Max. But it’s easy to use for light metering quickly I’m the field.
Love it. My go-to app for light metering
I love this app. I think my only gripe (probably user error) is getting the specific aperture of the lens I’m using. I can’t seem to get a reading for 3.8 in particular so I struggle a little bit to get the exact metering measurements. Is there any documentation on best practices or how to best achieve mor specific aperture readings?
Pay wall
Annoying. Do not download this
Looks good
Nice app, I think it’s on par with Lux. One thing that I wish was there is exposure compensation just like you have in the native camera app where you can choose the point for which camera should expose and then slide up/down to pinpoint the exact exposure that you need. Otherwise you usually have to rely solely on point-metering which is just not ideal (ie I want to see how my shot would look like with half a stop less light). If this was a feature only available in premium version of app I’d definitely pay for it. (Just don’t forget to mention that it’s there in premium version if you decide to implement it)
Spot metering
You used to be able to tap a specific spot to meter the light, but with the most recent update, it now just meters for the whole scene. There should be the option to choose what metering setting. Unless they’ve moved it and I just can’t find it, idk.
not bad
the app is very easy to use. paid for the subscription, however i found that the readings can be incorrect more often than not, but still love the app and maybe just need to get the hang of it
Spot meter is back
Thanks developers for listening to the people who use this app! There was a recent update a couple months back that took away the spot metering function within this application, which was a major downside to the app itself. But I was using the app recently and tapped on the screen accidentally to pleasantly find out that they developers added the function back in! Big thanks to them again!
TERRIBLE DO NOT DOWNLOAD
This app and the people behind it are terrible. I NEVER EVEN USED THE APP AND CANCELED IT ON TIME & they still won’t refund me. Just know that if you download this app, you can’t cancel it. So buyer beware.
잘 쓰고 있어요
정확한것 같고 사용은 잘 하고 있어요
Not work the money
Paid for the “premium access” and the aperture doesn’t adjust from 1.6 no matter what the shutter speed is set to. Feel ripped off and would love my money back.
Light meter app
Good functional light meter app but would be better with more aperture settings
Most accurate, easiest to use!
I love this app so much it just does everything you need and matches the accuracy to camera meters and handheld light meters. What more can you ask for? Please please please continue to support this app because I never want to be without it!
Broken App
I downloaded this for the free trial, the app would launch, but it almost always crashed out after a few seconds. I was not able to try it at all. I have canceled my subscription and deleted the app. I’m disappointed.

Good app but adverts are annoying
Good little app which does a great job of metering the ambient light. I paid £4.99 to have the adverts removed but to my disappointment they are still there which is annoying to say the least. I’ve uninstalled the app then reinstalled it but they’re still present. Perhaps the developer will rectify this for me.
please
lacks the aperture of 3.5 and iso 160
Best of the Best
I love this Spot-meter. Its accurate and easy to use. It does Spot as well as a normal reflected value. I have downloaded many meters and I think this is the best for my film photography pursuits. Thank You !!
Scammers
This app makes you pay 10 dollars to do anything in the app
So far so good
I did not test it fully, but so far the readings I get from it are good.
Shame
Worked great for 5 minutes, now insta-crashes whenever I try to open it. Not working on iPhone XS.
Does what it says but could have more depth
Does what it says on the tin, fast exposure readings, however would love the ability to expose on a specific part of an image (almost like a spot meter). For example if I’m taking photos in a theatre with a spotlight, I can’t remember expose specifically for the spotlight meaning it’s blown out.
Good app
Does the job well. New to film so this is easier than buying a meter.
App no longer works after I paid $10
Downloaded the app and saw the potential. Paid $10 for premium access and now the screen is just black and you can’t adjust or do anything besides look at the settings menu. Feel scammed for sure.
Advertisements!
Struggling to review this application properly as I have experienced regular bombardment of advertisements. So far looks promising. Lower rating due to the Advertisements.
Annoying adverts
The app is great but I get spammed with adverts despite paying for the app which is really disappointing.
