Skeuomorphism
This is probably the best-designed app I've ever gotten
Data
Bro this don’t work it’s sometimes work and sometimes doesn’t I’m doing a project and this app is not helping me achieve all the data I want
Good
Seems really useful(I haven’t used it really yet just playing around with it but will write another review when I done) but can’t change from selfie camera to back camera.
Nah this a’int it
Just make a light ad based version for hobbyists and occasional use; the battery stuff is actually just annoying and stupid and not as clever as they would like you to think and needlessly complex. Keep the pro full version as is.
Good app but
Meter worked well but forced me to purchase time to continue use.
If you can read and aren’t lazy, you’ll love this app!!
Not having the budget for a pricey light meter I looked into potential apps and found this one. I read the developers description and the app manual and followed the directions and violà - it worked like a charm!!! It was SO EASY to try out the app prior to paying the very small, very reasonable one-time price!! As long as you aren’t an idiot who lacks self-awareness, and take the 1-2 minutes to read the description and instructions, then this is the app for you!!
49 hour battery runs on a timer?
Hello I needed to have a mic meter for a job I was working on. I downloaded your app and thought that 48 hours of battery power would be plenty to use. Now having this mindset I went to open my light meter for the first time and use it this week after I purchased the 48hr 2 days before. To my surprise my battery was empty and I was not able to use the meter I had paid for. This really is not how an actual physical battery works. I feel taken for and a fool for spending any money on this to not be able to use. I apologize if this was clearly stated in the purchase agreement. But ethically this is not good. Thanks but no thanks?
Tired of subscriptions
Works well enough before your virtual light meter “runs out of battery” and you have to pay to recharge it or it won’t work. This shouldn’t be a subscription.
This is a Trial Offer
Works well but it isn’t free it’s just a trial offer.
Worth it
THANK YOU for letting us make a one-time purchase instead of a subscription!! I just delete apps that require subscriptions lol. This light meter is well-designed (you just need a piece of paper as a diffuser), easy to use, and seems pretty accurate when comparing it to physical light meters. I also like that I was able to try it out several times before paying.
Beware the $20 paywall
Is this app free? Absolutely not! I enjoy being asked to pay $20 for an app after using it for less than an hour, and it’s particularly enjoyable when all it’s doing is putting a wrapper on a sensor your phone already has built in.

Trial only
They don’t tell you this is only a short trial. Two stars for the obfuscation.

Listen I’m not a review guy but,
I never write reviews I’m usually just a guy who downloads something and if I like it great! And if I don’t like it that’s just too bad. But this is the ONLY light meter app that told me I need a diffuser! I was always so confused on why my grow lights were only measured at 100 foot candles. 10/10 app I love it
Purchase required
Works for a few seconds then redirects you to purchase a light diffuser. I’m not working at CERN. Just wanted to see if my new bulbs were a lot brighter. Useless.
Funktion gut, Kosten intranparent

Awesome app
This works perfectly and I am super happy that it has both reading instructions AND a video this app is amazing and is literally perfect for science research for light and bioluminescence it is also easy to use 10/10 love the app
Confusing
It said “no sensor required” well that might be true but as soon as I tried to use it, it said I needed to buy the “diffuser”??? I just wanted a ready to use app. I feel slightly misled.

Ekelhafte Masche! Das gehört sich nicht
Day 1 Light Meter LM-3000 TM
This is day 1 using the Light Meter LM-3000 app. Worked 6 hours on grow shelving and light set up. The app worked great. I have 3 different LED shop lights installed and the light meter was consistent based on specifications of the light and the placement. So far so good. Thanks.
Unusable
Not worth the time to download. It throws up pop up ads on top of the user interface every 5 seconds making it impossible to use or see tne readings. It makes it as difficult as it can to close the pop ups until you click through everything and then once you do you have only a few seconds to use it before the pop up begins again unless you purchase a diffuser from the developer.
Why is the camera on the front?
Maybe I’m the outlier for the usage here but I need it to use the regular iPhone camera the front camera is totally useless for my needs.
Incessant pop up for diffuser
I’ve paid for the app, so I’d expect the pop-up for the diffuser to stop. I’d love to give the app 5-stars, but this is just so annoying and makes it unbearable to use. Please fix.
Great customer service!
Incredibly responsive and helpful company! They were extremely patient with my questions and went out of their way to make the information accessible and understandable.
Deceptive Business
Just say it’s a paid app, and I might actually pay for it. To list is a free app then force me to pay to use the app AFTER I’ve downloaded is deceptive and I will go out of my way to let my photographer friends know not to use this app.

Inconvenience
Diffuser missing display always appear. I can't use functions I can't turn it off
Useful app that seems to be accurate
I purchased this app because it was cheaper than buying a dedicated light meter. The app is used to measure light intensity I am exposed to during the morning to ensure that I sleep better at night. I am using an iPhone XR with a thick OtterBox Commuter case. Technical support for the app advised that in this situation, for the diffuser, I should tape a piece of paper over the front camera instead of creating a paper loop. The app is informative and the technical support was helpful.
Requires a Diffuser
It’s wildly inaccurate unless you have a diffuser. But at that point you may as well buy a dedicated light meter. I have one but thought it would be more convenient to have an app on my phone that I carry around everywhere.
Not a spot meter but works
Caught traveling without a meter and been exploring iPhone meters. This one’s not much use to me bc it has no spot metering. But for a cheap to free app, it’s not bad. Not sure how accurate it is, but it’s probably close enough to get you in the ballpark if you’re shooting old film cameras and not interested in distant shots.
Not Accurate
I have a $400 Sekonic Light meter wide by side with this app and the reading on this app is much higher.
Just for acience class
For science class
Yeah. A scam.
It was pretty cool. I work in a calibration lab and deal with real ones. But then, I decide to use it and I can’t without buying some kind of battery app. I realize everyone needs to earn a living from their labors however, let me know in a very obvious manner, that this is a free trial which will eventually end. I saw nothing to indicate that. I feel “tricked”. They need to fix that and they’ll have better ratings.
Good, with caveats
👍 PROS (functional) 1) Displays measurement in both Lux and Lumens. 2) Simple, clear user-interface. 3) Simple instructions for making home-made diffuser (although I wonder whether heavy white tracing paper better than plain white copier paper?) 👍 👏 PROS (biz/marketing) 4) Free trail (albeit unpublicised and very short) 5) Reasonable one-off payment, no subscription required. (BIG PLUS; who isn't sick of subscriptions for single function / occasional use apps?) 6) Good privacy policy; another BIG PLUS if yr sick of personal data being stolen and exploited by tech companies. 👎CONS: 1) Front camera operation only. Wish it used back camera so I could watch results in real time. 2) Unclear pricing / trail period. Come on guys. Privacy policy hints at decent company, so why not ignore 'trick the user' trend and just be upfront about trial and cost? Nobody's digging around in user manual for pricing info. Purpose of 'battery' icon unclear. Even if you read reviews and understand battery icon, it starts off almost 'empty' so it's impossible to gauge how much trial period is left. It's annoying. 🤔NEUTRAL: Haven't yet tested accuracy against real (ie physical) light meter. Hope trial lasts long enough to do so. (Update: it didn't). Happy to pay one-off fee for apps that meet needs and respect privacy. (Why should apps to be free? Developers need to eat!). 🙏 I just like to know about trial periods and costs upfront. 😊
Not free
I thought this was free. Should have read reviews first. Perhaps if you stated upfront that it is a free trial OR listed the cost upfront, I might have bought it. The trial did afford me the opportunity to find out that it will require a diffuser for accurate measurements, so at least that was a perk of the free trial.
Diffuser was an extra step but it worked.
Says you need a diffuser and stops working immediately BUT it is a simple thing to add. Just means you have to have it with you whenever you want to use the app.
Can’t cancel
Frustrating
Is not free…
Although very good, it’s not free as after a few uses, it stops working and asks you to purchase to continue. Would far rather it makes this clear at the start…
