I wish for
Good app for duplicate bridge. But 2 additional items would strengthen the app. First, explain why some result in —- instead of a score. Second, allow review a board so one can improve their ability.
The bot partner bidding is pathetic, please fix this
I have the paid version of this game. I like playing Bridge on my phone. The bot play is good. The partner bot bidding is pathetic and very very frustrating. My bot partner with 14 points, five hearts and four diamonds just did an opening bid of one diamond. I had 8 points and three hearts and one diamond. This makes no sense that I could not bid to fit my partner‘s hand because bot’s opening bid was ridiculous and should have been one heart. This makes me never want to respond to the bot partner with any kind of bid because the bot partner has not been programmed to bid correctly or to even respond correctly to a bid. Please please fix this! It makes me never want to play this app again.
New bridge player
I have been learning to play bridge and use this app to work on basic skills. I particularly like the explanations of the bids when you tap on them. My disappointment however is the pop up ads. I even paid the 7.99 to get rid of them but I still get ads. Please help.
Info All Wrong
This may be a good interpretation of Bridge, however the game presentation is ALL wrong. You have to search for the score card…WHICH IS THE WHOLE POINT OF THE GAME!!! I have found bidding and play to be better than other Bridge games but complete lack of focus on the scoring renders it almost useless. Also when you find the scorecard it is so basic it could be from a game 30 years ago! Given the bidding algorithm I would be contemplating buying this but the visuals are primitive.
Decent but AI sometimes iffy
This is a decent app with good game play. But sometimes the AI gets it wrong. For eg 1NT to 4H when the partner only has 1H being the 5. I pass as no Texas transfers so it’s annoying playing paid for games when the AI partner is suspect.
Another feature needed
When all hands pass, I would like option to review all hands. Also, if you Tap to Deal next hand, it would also be nice to have Review all hands similar to what you do at end of hand played.
Ads are way way way way too long
See title. Also, some ads to get app won’t let you close without getting app installed— terrible!!!
I want to play my hand!
For some reason the game wants to play my hand without me asking it to do so. Yes, I know to press the icon to stop the auto play but it will not stop! Please advise….
Buyer beware
I purchased this app to play on my iPhone, assuming it would automatically download to my iPad. Wrong. If I want to use it on my iPad, I have to purchase again. Not fair.
Was okay but…
I have enjoyed playing this app but it has suddenly started playing a strong NT even though 12-14 is ticked in the bidding. It’s no longer workable.
Fabulous
Great set up, reasonable prices, excellent free game,by far one of my favorite game apps, most of which are card games
Tricked into paying
I just downloaded this app to try it out. It immediately asks if you want to purchase the ad free version. It gives no other info and offers only two choices: purchase and decline. I chose purchase thinking it would give me more details before finalizing, but it immediately charged $7.99 to my account without asking for any additional confirmation. This is very misleading! Please give the user more info before charging their account. I may decide to purchase in the future if I end up liking the app enough, but for now, please refund my money!
Fairly good, play of hand a strong point
App offers rubber, Chicago, and duplicate options. I have tried the first two and they are fun. Some aspects of Standard American seem to be captured in a pre-2000 form (roughly the last edition of Goren, where 5-card majors were introduced). For example, the 1NT point range is 16-18, the raise of partner’s 1 of a suit open to 3 is not understood as a limit raise (modern style). The app’s bids perhaps too frequently “shade” the explanations available as one plays. On the other hand, the bidding is not cluttered with conventions; just plays Stayman, transfers, original Blackwood, and a few others. That is good. Worth having, in short.
Regular player
I play a fair amount in tournaments. Some very basic problems with that mode. Trump should always be displayed on left. Don’t know why it’s not. At end of hand, full hand should be displayed briefly so you can see what you did wrong. And bidding conventions should be updated to modern styles.
Slam scoring wrong.
When making a slam the score should include the game bonus as well as the slam. Defensive play is very weak and does not get better. RETURN YOUR PATNERS LEAD,
Wow
If sir Tim berners Lee were to have invented a game instead of just the internet, it'd be this one
Review
Should have left it alone!
Series tournaments
Have just started playing series tournaments . The computer play is very slow in this part of the app and tends to hang. This makes it very hard to follow play. This is not due to my internet as I can flip to play other matchches which work perfectly and then go back to resume a series tournament and find it still waiting for the computer to play. Even closing and re-opening the app doesn’t make any difference. Any suggestions ?
is bidding and why
My partner in rubber games doesn’t seem to know what they’re doing quite a bit of the time
Partner never recognized a part score
I would give this a higher score if I could rely on partner to stop bidding when game is reached with part score plus bid.
Now has ads
I bought it years ago. Now new version has ads. This stinks!
Opponent’s Cards
Since my opponent can ALWAYS see my cards, I feel that I should be afforded the same opportunity! It’s called FAIRNESS! Ellen
North computer bids
I have noticed on multiple occasions that North hand will jump to 4 level major or 5 level minor with only moderate point counts, when NS already have points under the line, and EW are not competitively bidding. This leads to a number of lost hands when game scores could easily be achieved.
V+
Game ads stop play often
Dummy’s hand play lot to be desired
Especially in NT leads. No weightage to bidding calls seems to be given. Blindly leads per its own hand only. In general hand play is solely based on its own hand an not Partners or indeed opponents. Quite basic.
Terrific bridge app
Excellent app and the company is very responsive. This is the best bridge app I’ve found.
Bidding
Bidding is terrible and makes no sense Don't know what version of bidding this is but is very frustrating for advanced bidders! When u write a bad review they accept no nockname All are already taken Crappy app
Basic flaw
The opposition knows your cards! If you play alternative cards you will see that the opposition always knows what cards you hold. A fairly stupid way to design a bridge program
Love the app …but
Bought the no ads app but my bridge game keeps getting interrupted by pop up game ads that I cannot escape without restarting my iPhone. So very annoying.
Keeps glitching out.
This game frequently pops up ‘trick’ ads to either update current versions of games, etc which are really just new games being loaded to your computer. It also has an ad that ‘tricks’ the user into paying for the ad free version of the game. I ended up getting tricked to paying for the game, but used it a lot so didn’t push back. However, the game then started glitching and freezing to the point that I had to delete it. When I reloaded it, it was back to the version with ads. More effort to play than it should be. :(
Best bridge app ever!
Easy to use with learning tools and if you make a boo-boo, you can go back and fix it. Which is go when you have clumsy fingers!
Game is unbalanced
Don’t buy it!! the computer presents outrageous bids for the East /West players and always are loaded with higher cards, than the North/South position which you’re playing
Speed
Can’t seem to alter the speed at which the cards move, it makes me dizzy, otherwise great app
cheating west
My favorite game till it started stealing tricks. 3 north trios were taken by east. Nit first time but when it was just one I disregarded.
Question
I can’t tell when I’ve won or lost the game and when the game is over. I dislike that the game hides the score.
Bridge: Tournaments et.al. on the phone.
Excellent practice! Great fun! Very enjoyable!
Bridge App Very Poor Quality
I find the app very poor. High percentage of low HCP hands for North/South
Beware of ads
I play this game a lot and like it. Beware the ads, though! One mimicked the iOS indicating my memory was “almost full” (not true) and I needed to download their app to make space. That’s insidious! No way to report it.
Poor and uninteresting hands
That’s it. Too many hands with 10 or far fewer points. I’d like to play offense occasionally, not just defend.
Bidding
The bidding is sometimes off. Partner passed after a demand bid of take out double
Privacy and Security Issues
I used to love this app, but now their new privacy and security policies have forced me to delete it. Why? There are several other free bridge apps. Make me watch an annoying ad between hands… that’s ok. Try to access personal information from my phone… not ok.
Actually robbed me
Every time you open the game, it attempts to charge you. After a while it got me, I opened the game and changed my mind on what I was gonna do, so I pressed the home button, which then took my fingerprint and charged me for the premium version of the game.
Enjoy bridge
A good app. Goes a bit quickly - not enough time to contemplate moves, and would like a guide to what my potential bid might mean - but enjoyable nevertheless.xtra321
Duplication. Limited variety
I’m reinterring my ‘bridge’ hobby. I purchased this game to relax and sharpen my Bridge skills. My husband has the same app/w/o purchase of $7.99. We get the same games! With my purchase, I do not receive adds but receive a repeat of the “same games with the same cards”!!!! Stinky. I do not recommend this program to anyone who is serious about bridge. Omar! Where are you?
Ads
I don’t mind many of the ads but some of them even have no exits
Best
I love this bridge game. It has everything I need.
New phone
I bought a new phone and all my accounts except this one transferred my purchases. This is the most I have ever paid for a game but I loved it. I am so disappointed. There is no way to contact the developers for help from the app so I am hoping this will let them know I need a way to show I have purchased it and paid the one time fee. I have heard there is another good bridge app out there so I will try to find it.
Therapeutic
The bridge is such therapeutic effect on me. No worry to involve others to play with this game. Only criticism is after the game, I would like to see the whole cards.
The bidding is horrible
Otherwise a good bridge game
Unclear
I like the app. I just downloaded it a couple of weeks ago. I just spent 6.99 to I thought get rid of ads. But it didn’t get rid of them. What did I spend 6.99 on? I hav,e no idea. It is not very clear. I want my money back and you can have back whatever I bought.
