Nice app overrun by ads

I had noticed an increase in ads for a few days this week, but they now seem to have evened out. The developer has also made me aware that an in-app purchase would remove ads, which is worth taking advantage of.

★★☆☆☆ United Kingdom · v7.11 · 9 Jan 2026

Weirdly biased against the player

Maybe I’ve been completely unlucky, but the statistics appear extremely odd to me. Over a lot of hands (many tens in a row), E&W have been averaging 25-30 HCP per hand, so the rubbers are short, typically taking just two to three hands for them to win. Worst run so far was ten hands where EW were bidding 5+ contracts on every hand. Very little that can be done against that, but again statistically very unlikely unless the deck is stacked against the player. So, good if you like trying to stop, and if you can derive pleasure from never winning a hand.

Useful bridge app, but crashes and no support response

I like the concept of the app and it can be useful for practicing bridge hands. However, the app continues to crash even after deleting and reinstalling it. I also contacted support about the issue and never received a response. For a learning app, reliability and support matter. The bidding explanations can also be difficult for learners because some calls rely on specific conventions without enough upfront clarity. I would be happy to revise this review if the crashing issue is fixed and support responds.

Meh

This app has the reputation of being the best solo play bridge game. If that’s true, then bridge apps have a long way to go. The partner bidding is weak. It is not situationally aware like a human partner would be. The same goes for play. Don’t expect your AI parner to make a useful opening lead. Also, don’t expect it to lead back your suit or pay attention to discard cues. There may someday be a bridge game with good AI, but this is not it, at least not yet.

Not enough analytics

Compared to other bridge apps, neural doesn’t give enough analytical tools or explanation. Yes there are hints. But trying to improve bidding or playing there is not enough feedback. Fun

North's bids are absolutely insane. I hate getting locked into some absurd contract just because my partner went insane. I bid 2S? Why do that when we could try for 6D instead! And then I see North's hand and they have, like, an Ace. Ugh, I usually just forfeit at that point. If North was bidding based on their hand, that would be one thing. But I've got a decent hand of Spades, for example, and my partner is running up the bid, throwing in every other suit in the deck. Anyway, still a good bridge game for a beginner like me.

— AGrey2

★★☆☆☆ United Kingdom · v2.11 · 21 Jun 2022

Improve the display

Would be better if hands were shown with suits of different colour arranged alternately. The current arrangement where the two red suits are placed side by side is difficult to follow on a small device such as a smartphone. The bidding system could be improved considerably eg follow up to splinter bids - a bid of a new suit after a splinter is NOT a naturalbid which can be passed! Also, certain other sequences normally treated as forcing (eg new suit at the 3 level) are not forcing here.

— Springibobble

★★★☆☆ United Kingdom · v2.71 · 31 Oct 2022

Great graphics -some ideas

It would be good to be able to reverse the card order. I hold my bridge cards in my left hand with the cards oriented Left to Right not R-L as in the app. A description of the bidding rationale would be useful as I’ve been left in some very unusual contracts and cannot see from the review how the computer decided it’s second bid which sometimes made no sense. An an ability to choose a preferred standard bidding system would be great.

This app is good for practice, but is sometimes extremely slow. Also, the standard of the robots is not very high so easy to beat. Sometimes the play is inexplicable. For example I was checking how the other table managed to get an extra trick. The opponent (4th in hand) overtook dummy’s 8 with the queen, when the 9 would have sufficed. This allowed the declarer to subsequently make his 10. Weird!

Best bridge app out there

Only app that plays at the level of a competent human. Great teaching tool as well. Highly recommend. Two suggestions for improvement: 1. When it suggests a bid it says how many points it assumes you have but doesn’t say how it calculates that (eg what assumptions it makes for card distribution or suit length) 2. It doesn’t have as many conventions as other apps. Still the best one out there!
