What people like
- Essential tool for safe eating while traveling
- Developers update restaurant info very quickly
- Community members provide detailed safety insights
What they complain about
- Popups and ads interrupt you constantly
- Basic features are hidden behind a paywall
- Non-celiac reviews clutter the search results
Great app, search function could be better
This app is extremely helpful, though now as many restaurants reviewed as the other app with a red logo… which can be time consuming to sift through “gluten free” marked restaurants (half the time are non-celiac /GF people saying there are choices when it’s literally just a side salad). This app is especially great if you’re in an unfamiliar place since it will just give you restaurants that are close by. The search function is a little cludgy to get to, but otherwise, it’s great!
Obnoxious pop-ups
The information this app holds that is contributed by reviewers is quite helpful for those with celiac disease, however the app is almost completely unusable due to the quantity of popups. Constant requests to pay for premium, mandatory reviews ratings. Even clicking to dismiss some popups opens more popups. Please give the option to permanently opt out of all premium and review related pop-ups!
Classy Atmosphere
Amazing restaurant, beautiful atmosphere. Sat outside with live music on a Saturday night. Not the best environment for kids, but lovely for a date night. Very limited and pricey menu, just a few GF options, and my tacos were not super flavorful or warm. But overall very nice and good vibes.
it’s not accessible
I have had this downloaded for a couple months and while the features are very helpful i can’t help but become irritated with the constant reminder of features you cannot access if you don’t pay for premium. Being a celiac or gluten intolerant is already making the world around you inaccessible in so many ways especially financially. Having features on this app that continue keep that world partly inaccessible just defeats the whole point of this app. I like many others cannot afford the premium and cannot help but wonder if it would make my life just a little bit easier. Please do better and understand the features you are not making free are denying people seeking accessibility.
Basically unusable if you don’t pay for premium
There are so many things you can’t get rid of the display without paying that it’s basically unusable. The map is less than an inch high on my screen, with several useless (and unclearable) messages or options below. I used to use this app all the time, but hardly ever bother to open it now.
Super helpful
BestGFapp!
Useless App
The app has changed so you need to sign in to see the reviews. Otherwise all you see is the star rating. Useless now, not worth using.
The definitive app for eating safely in US and internationally
This is the only app I trust because it's updated constantly and users are detailed in their profiles so you can see if your gluten tolerance is similar to theirs. I more or less literally trust this app with my life and have been using for 10+ years. And I love that the developers are RESPONSIVE in updating places, I've submitted new restaurants to be included many times and they'll be posted within a few days.
Nagware
Money grab from a vulnerable population.
Add A Per Month Subscription
Decent app. The option of a per month subscription for when I travel would get me to subscribe.
Essential for GF travel
Lifesaver while traveling with family! Have been using it for over a year and hasn’t steered me wrong yet.
not a good experience
They have a well labelled menu with GFO. I ordered the fish taco Gluten free. She said she noted it in the order. I received my fish tacos. I ate one of them and then felt very full which is my first symptom when having a reaction. I looked at my husbands fish taco which was not gluten free and the tortilla looked exactly the same. I asked the waitress if it was gluten free, she said it should be but she wasn’t sure and she brought it to the kitchen to confirm. She came back to tell me the kitchen made a mistake and it was not gluten free. she apologized and then another employee came by and apologized and wanted to check on my allergy. She said you’re not celiac are you. I said yes. she apologized again and they gave me my meal for free and offered me another meal which I declined. i’m still paying for it almost a week later. i would t recommended this restaurant
Good value meal
This was a really nice meal. Prawn were beautiful. Onion Bhajji fritters to die for. The sirloin steak was on the small size (looked like it had been cut in half) but went down a treat. Truly trust their contamination and assured us they had a seperate fryer
Hardly worth it
America-focused with functions blocked. Chaotic screen experience, crowded and not intuitive to use. To be honest, I rarely use it and wouldn’t pay for upgrades.
Etwas kompliziert
Ich hätte gerne eine Übersetzungsmöglichkeit
Happy Traveller
Find me gluten free has helped me find so many good restaurants all over the world.
Requires an Account
Lets you use app for a day or so but requires you to create an account afterwards which is really anti consumer
Helping me eat my way through Malta and Italy!
So far this app has helped me find good food in every place we've been over the past 3.5 weeks! We've found fabulous food in Malta, across Sicily and now in Matera!
Not What I Expected
I was expecting an App that would help my Celiac partner & I navigate eating in restaurants when we are traveling. Most of the useful information can only be accessed with a paid subscription which is a monthly or yearly payment rather than a one time fee.
Slecht toegankelijke app
Heb deze app een paar keer bekeken en uitgeprobeerd, maar vind het een slecht toegankelijke app. Lastig te zoeken en voor de meeste functies moet je betalen. Jammer!

If you’re celiac and travel it work !
Forcing users to like reviews weakens my trust in content
I’m constantly forced to like reviews in order to see restaurants. Knowing that I have to like reviews of places I’ve never been before just to see the content on the app makes me super skeptical of other reviews, especially knowing that writing a review is another option to actually access the content.
Awesome app
Nice to have an app that helps finding gluten free options - all over the world
Paywalled
Too restrictive without premium. Can’t really use it as basic features are disabled (like filtering for open now)
50% price raise
Super helpful app, really! But a 50% price raise is over the top! Feels like you’re punishing people who are already paying to use the app…
So helpful!
The FMGF app and website are a tremendous help in quickly identifying GF restaurant options, especially when traveling. Not all reviewers are celiac, so consider them as guides. Please help others by adding your restaurant reviews to improve the content and our GF/celiac community. Happy GF eating!
App doesn’t care about your health
Customer service is rude and argumentative. Even when handed solid proof.
It was okay
The toppings were great and the crust was good. I did appreciate being an actual dough crust not a cracker or premade, shipped in frozen crust. I found it pretty expensive but what isn’t now a days….
In Deutschland leider unbrauchbar.
I love find me gluten free!!!
When I was first diagnosed with celiac, I was struggling to find a good app to find safe places to eat. When I found find me gf, I instantly downloaded it and it has been so helpful!!! Definitely join find me gf if you are gluten free.
Forced contributions and charging for premium?
This is silly. Opening the app to find a restaurant near me to be paywalled by either premium or forced reviews is crazy. Especially when the app is already limited if you’re not paying for premium. Is it not enough that celiac people pay a premium on literally every menu item available and on groceries? You design an app that demands a tithe as well? Capitalism at its grossest form. A shocking contrast to how the celiac community is treated compared to the type 1 diabetic. I sincerely hope whatever fuels this design choice never steps foot in the type 1 diabetes world. Gross. Will look for other alternatives for celiac folks.
Grandfloatyboaty GF
This app has been very useful. Helped ys find some hidden gems.
This app was great in North America and Europe, so so in Bali
I’ve been using this for years. I started using it when it first came out and I paid for it for it up until this year. Because I now live in Bali, and the app is not as comprehensive in Bali as it was in North America and Europe, I didn’t renew my paid membership when it expired. And now I see the difference between free and paid, and I’m really disappointed because I started supporting this app when it first came out, and a few times that I want to use it, I can see that I’m not getting the full benefits because I’m not paying for it anymore. I understand why there would be paid membership, but I really believe some of us should be grandfathered in. (I’ve had paid accounts on 5 different email addresses over the years.)
Never travel without it!
This App is essential for finding safe food in unknown places. It helps even at home to try a newer place.
Hang on, this isn’t fair!
The app would be useless if it wasn’t for big contributors like me. And the price has shot up to a ridiculous extreme. I’m out. Learn to treat your contributors fairly. For that price, I expect MUCH better vetting of entries. Very tired of having to tidy up all the local entries from Coeliacs who are unable to read menus clearly, for instance. No way this app is worth the massive price hike. Exploitation of people with special needs, is what it is. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Helpful App but needs Reporting Feature
This app is very helpful, especially when you’re travelling. I also appreciate the recent safety quiz they’ve introduced, assumably as a means to better identify informed reviewers. This is an issue on the app, where someone will review a spot and provide little information or incorrect information, and there doesn’t seem to be an easy way to report this. When you do report it, nothing seems to happen.
Mid
I’m celiac but this thing is forcing me to get a subscription just to know a menu which is dumb because I don’t like to be celiac and it’s just stupid because all of the celiac people struggle and it’s asking us to pay to see if we can eat from one place!?!? I just think who is celiac is struggling and your just throwing more at us even tho we are struggling with just eating food out because we practically can’t. Thanks but change your app because we shouldn’t need to pay just because we have a disability to eat normal food. All we want is more help but you don’t care you just want the money.
This FOOD APP NEVER DISSAPPOINTS!
I have traveled the world and even in the remotest areas of Europe this app did not disappoint! I’m amazed by this community that cares so deeply! Thank you for this great resource for us with celiac!!
It’s good, just could be better
It’s great when traveling as a base to find restaurants that are gluten ‘friendly’ then you kinda have to put in the extra effort to make sure it is. Also the app is unfortunately clogged with people’s reviews who aren’t celiac but are still rating highly saying there’s probably cross contamination which just makes using the app laborious. Can you not just add stickers saying our celiacs have approved this place or something (sorry if this is paid) Plus I understand you need paid users but damn as celiacs we already pay more and get less can you just add non intrusive ads or sponsorships
Klopt niet
Er was een restaurant dat gluten vrij zou moeten zijn maar dat was het niet
Traveling
Great when traveling In Europe Love all the ideas
Can’t update reviews and wrong emphasis
Posted review All 3 Coeliacs were sick after eating there App translated that into 3 star! As menu marks items GF Couldn’t go back and fix review
Super useful
Nothing much to say other than it’s a genuinely useful app; not the most usable or the most beautiful but it does a good job and does it well. Thank you to all those who are adding reviews as well (it’d be nothing without you).
Great but hard to update
Would have rated higher but struggled to add places that I have eaten at.
