Not loading
App does not load. It is stuck on an empty screen with no option to login. Only works if I uninstall and reinstall again for a couple of hours.

Still freezes on startup intermittently
After the update back on April 9 (approx), the app refused to get past the initial spinning circle around the lock. Yes, I tried force closing and restarting and I tried rebooting the phone and restarting, but nothing would get it past that spinner. Finally, I tried REMOVING the app and then redownloading it. That worked,… for a couple of days. Had to do that again today, so we’ll see how long it continues to work now. So - updating to 2 Stars from one because eventually it is possible to sign in.

All fixed, great response from devs
I had an issue with an update, where the app stopped working for me. The devs read the reviews, gave helpful responses AND fixed the issue. The app itself has always been great - lets me see info at a glance, do all the banking I need to and has a good flow.
Still not fixed
The app does not register itself with the Face ID registry (Settings - Face ID & Passcode - Other Apps). All the apps using Face ID on iOS should show up there, but this one doesn’t. Why would it take 2 weeks to fix such a small issue that impacts sooo many users??? Shouldn’t this be a P0 ticket??

Need Chinese interface like the TD app
My mom likes the TD app because it can be configured to show in Chinese. After switching to BMO she can’t use online banking anymore.

Stuck on the loading page
After you set up login, click ‘remember me’ and setup faceid the first time, the next time click the app you just see the circle go round and round forever on the loading page

Stop the upsell
Sick of 2 month old updates and upselling ads as I try to navigate the app. Give it a break.

Excellent app!
This app has a beautiful user interface. It is very functional, user friendly and streamlined. Of course, it's still missing the camera check deposit that the competition has. Also waiting for the Investorline functionality. But it's great. I must give it to them.
No longer functional
Since the last update, the app is unusable. iPhone 13, iOS 26.3.1 When launching, the app stays on the blue screen with the BMO logo. A small lock with a moving circle arc is the only thing happening. I was able to login by uninstalling and reinstalling the app but that works only once. The problem returns on the next login. Logging out or not before closing the app doesn’t change the behavior. Please provide a fix for this issue.

Not very intuitive
There is a step when designing an app’s user experience where you hand the app to somebody who has never used it, and tell them: “try to do X.” And if they have trouble, you make it easier. The designers of this application skipped that step. So if you want to change the way it does two-factor authentication, you need to configure how it sends you Alerts. That might be obvious to the developer who wrote it, but it’s hard to be intuitive for an end-user.

Would like to view the most updated mortgage balance including accrued interest, like TD App does.

Looks way better than older versions and works perfectly / smoothly.
App constantly freezes and will not let me log in.
Seems like every month the app just will not log in, freezing on the very first loading screen. Without even bringing me to a login prompt. Absolutely infuriating and useless. More often than not even a hard restart of my phone does nothing.
Glad there's an app
It's decent for checking my account. The UI could use some work. I'm on an iPhone 5, iOS 7.1 and the status bar is currently being hidden by a portion of the interface.

New app is amazing
The new app is nothing like the previous one. It's fast, responsive and packed with essential functionality. Looking forward to regular updates from now on.
App always Broken
App is constantly broken. Not able to log in. "Somethings up on our end. Please try again soon". Pretty ridiculous it's been a few days of this. Might change banks due to the great inconvenience. App also constantly changes how it shows joint, chequing and saving accounts. So if you don't know every account number off by heart you will have no clue what account you're using. The app was designed great about 6 years ago. It's been all downhill.
Convenient. Wishing for check deposit facility
The app is pretty cool looking and nice. I like that I have now the convenience of checking my account balances and setting alerts. looking forward to when it will have the ability to deposit checks through the app using my camera. I like it :-)

Constant crushing
Always says “something is up on our end” or “we are trying hard to fix. How about actually fixing? One day the app and tech issues will be what drivers people away from this bank. Whoever uses this app in Canada should know what I’m talking about. Worst banking app out there easily
Don’t like the new interface
The new interface is harder to navigate than the previous version. It takes more steps to look at previous transactions now too. I prefer the old version.

Got scammed
got scammed with cheque fraud. BMO digital bank showed that I have the money, and then money disappeared. They know about this flaw but don’t do anything. Please avoid at all costs.
About app
The new App is not good because it always freezes. I can’t login out.
Confusing
I have used BMO's online banking on my computer for years - so it took me a while to figure out (a) you have to put in your full16 digit debit card number (on the web they default the first 6 for you ) and (b) the app limits the password to 6 characters while online it accepts as many as you choose to type but discards what you enter after the first 6. So BMO - how about doing some usability testing with real customers before releasing something that works in an unfamiliar way? Might improve your ratings.

this app has been updated almost 3x within the last few months and the login page is still bugging. please fix this ASAP!!!
Meh.
The app never remembers my card number despite always checking "Remember My Card Number". Even though this app took forever to actually release, it still lacks some of the basic functions (ie: Bill Payments). Not a fan of the UI either, I was kind of hoping for something different from all the other bank apps. Overall I guess it's still pretty useful. I can at least check my balances and transfer funds.

I have two debit cards, one for personal banking and the other for business banking. The app only allows me to use one card. Please make it like your online banking so i can sign in with either card.
