Investor edge
Half the time, I can’t find the ticker I am looking for or execute a trade in a timely manner. This is unacceptable for a brokerage platform. I am seriously considering moving entire portfolio to another brokerage.
Usability bug: Browser login push codes disappear instantly
When logging into online banking on a browser, a push notification is sent to my phone containing the verification code. However, when I tap the notification banner to open the app, it immediately dismisses the notification before I can read or copy the code. Furthermore, there is no way to retrieve or view the code inside the app once it opens. This makes logging in via a browser extremely frustrating. Please keep the code visible or allow users to view their active verification codes inside the app.

E-transfer UI loop (0141) error code using iPhone 15 up-to-date at this time Notifications for messages in “my messages” take too long to clear. Needs to be faster. Or add “clear all”

The slowest of the banking apps to e-transfer and to post credit card purchases and payments. Just too slow and backward.
Needs UI Revamp
It is almost iOS 27. The app needs a better UI interface and aesthetics. The logo can be used alone and the name on the bottom can be CIBC. Dark mode black icon is also a good feature. Scotiabank has a good app as a model.
Latest update
Since the last update, the app does not show all my accounts in one page. There are ads for credit cards and insights after my checking and savings accounts and I have to scroll down to see my Line of Credit (spending account). So I cannot view all on one page. Can’t you put your ads at the end?
Work ok BUT
When you can connect, the app is fine. But, if you are not connected to wifi, it will not work, saying you have no internet connection. Even with my phone having four bars 5G+, and every other app working flawlessly, including my two other banking apps, this app will not function at all.
World Wide User
This CIBC APP is absolutely world class, I use this App worldwide. I love the feature where a notification is sent immediately to me on my iPhone for all purchases no matter what country I am in. I highly recommend both the APP and the CIBC.
Bank elsewhere
Honestly I use to love this bank as I’ve dealt with them since I was 19 and I’m 54 now. I’ve had nothing but issues with these people that now they have to be one of the worst banks out there and going downhill fast and hard. I’ve also had friends recently close their accounts here as well. Makes you wonder why. Should be able to have trust in your bank, I do not. Never held accountable for their misinformation only the client is…..
push notifications
Please add push notifications for incoming deposits, not just withdrawals. It would be really helpful to get notified when money is deposited into my account, such as my paycheck or transfers. Many banking apps already offer this feature, and it would make the CIBC app much more convenient. Thank you!

Cannot receive push notifications when making an e-transfer or updating payee contact email. Was working fine until last week.

Big Bank Poor App
Why is it called insights when you can’t total transactions from vendors or vendor categories. I really have to run my own spreadsheet to crunch the numbers because the app from a bank doesn’t. Shame. I’ll update this review if you update your app.

Always Down
The server is down every day. Most likely after business hours. There is a big delay on master card payment processing which I know it’s the bank not the app. Also the app is too complicated and not user friendly.
App is fine but promos annoying
The app is fine and does what it needs to do. But every time you login you are hit with a promo for financing or something and constantly have to say No, Thanks, and then it asks if you are sure and you have to say no again. So annoying! I bank with TD also and their app NEVER does that. I can just do my banking and leave with TD. Enough with the promos.

Missing an easy feature
I’ll give this app 5 stars once they fix this silly missing feature. In iPhone you can only find the app by searching for “banking” and not “cibc”! This is an eternally missing feature for no reason. Please fix it. Thanks

Not the best
App is slow to load, 2FA is slow or buggy etc. many small irritants. Stopped using it.
Defect:
When asking to update account information, the app expects postal code in Canadian for (A9A 9A9) but I have an Canadian account with US postal code (99999) and the app rejects it. I am able to skip updating however if I were to need to update it I would be blocked. The application should verify country before validating postal code. Otherwise app is working fine.
Needs Work
For a “premium” bank the mobile app is seriously lacking in the ability to use it. Up until recently it worked fine, occasionally requiring 2FA. Now every time it requires it, when you get the code and enter it the app proceeds to log in, but never does! It is broken and needs fixing. I deleted the app, restarted my device, reinstalled and logged in, it worked a couple of times and then went back to not logging in. Did the same thing again, and it worked for a couple of times then nothing…come on CIBC put all those fees you charge to bank with you and the interest you earn into making a app that is reliable and works!

Does what we need - no issues
We have been using CIBC mobile for quite a few years. It’s been great. The functionality has been expanding and that’s great too. For our everyday needs it’s been super. Validating transactions, xfering $$s, checking balances.
Worst app of all canadian banks
Errors upon errors. Nothing gets fixed and I have to use their online banking website for everything. What’s the point of this app

I love CIBC but the app desperately needs an update, not only to improve the visuals but add new features to the app. Please do this.

Broke keyboard for login password manager toggle
Great app in general, but the latest update broke something crucial to my use case. I hope this finds it way to your dev team for the next app deployment: Your latest release broke the contextual keyboards ability to fill a password from any password managers in iOS. I have previously used this functionality for years with the CIBC app, but it no longer works in the latest version. STR: Running latest public release of iOS 16, tapping in password field with a saved account number doesn’t allow for filling saved password nor toggling enabled password managers.

I am using my IOS in Chinese simplified, and mobile banking app name shows CFbundledisplaynme. It is hard for a OCD guy like me. Fix it if it’s convenient.😂
your updates messed up the cross border transfer
Couldnt be able to cross border transfer after the updates, it keep changing back to chequing account, cant even do chequing transfer to saving account. Please get it fixed.
Missing an important feature
Print Pre authorized payment form and void Cheque missing. Would be nice to have credit simulation functionality on your credit score feature.

Can’t Sign On
I’ve had an account for years. Savings only. I downloaded this app and tried to sign on. Need to have a debit card to sign on. I have no debit card. So app is useless to me.
Crashes
This app continually crashes. I like being able to get the info quickly from my phone but I can’t even do that because of it crashing constantly. Other than that it worked for a bit and was good.

Update Preventing Customers from Reviewing Transactions
If I want to view past transactions you have to request them in the app. I can’t view recent transactions past 5 weeks. I can’t even view my last statement in the app. It seems to be a deliberate effort to undermine a consumer’s ability to check for fraud and unauthorized transactions. Congratulations CIBC on being just another draconian money hungry bank. Too many disputes transactions due to retailer fraud? Too much trouble to protect your clients? I really hope Costco dumps you and moves on to a honest customer centric company aligns with Costco’s mission and values. I will use another card until this is fixed.

Normally a great app, what happened?
For about a month now, the app claims I have no internet connection either immediately after attempting to log in or when trying to load information from my accounts/transfers. No other app I'm using has this issue. Please fix!
Please fix password Paste
There’s no need not to allow pasting a password on the mobile app. I use a password generator and a different password for all my apps. Having to type in a highly complicated pw every time is silly. Im tempted to make my pw easier to enter which defeats the purpose. Theres just not a good technical or security reason to block pasting.
