This app plays more ads than those annoying free games. How can you take any of the news posted here to be serious? Ridiculous. Just delete this nonsense app.
If only i can remove sports news
I like the Home section cause it captures both national and international news. But have to scroll thru so many sports news. If only I can remove sports from my Home section.
Connection issue
I am fairly disappointed on the connection experience of mine in this apps. I ensured I have no issue in loading other webs or apps. Sometime, my subscription will get log out for reason and I have to log in manually to continue reading. Please improve. Thanks

The ads come up quite frequently.I understand this is a way to get revenue but it comes up too often that it gets annoying.Especially thise 15 second ads where you can skip it.

Unable to exit ads. Stupid apps. I used to read this everyday but not anymore.
Finally, it is here!
I have always loved The Star for their in-depth, concise and sometimes quirky news writing. Though, with this app, they have stepped forward albeit just a baby's step. Comparing to other established news app around in the App Store, The Star is sorely lacking behind, in almost all aspect. The only saving grace is that investors will love the features for shares and trusts updates. Hopefully, The Star will take note from better news app such as CNN, CNA, The Straits Times (Singapore) and Al-Jazeera. If they can combine all the best bits from all these apps, The Star can probably start charging $0.99 for their news app!!! Good job, keep it up!!!
Difficult to access with so many ads
The app has too many Low quality ads. Everytime the ads come on I have to exit the app because there’s no clear way to close the ad. This makes it very frustrating when all I want to do is to read the news! Please find a way to resolve this
Disappearing articles in My Library
Dear developers, please fix the issue of articles saved in My Library disappearing. It’s very frustrating that after I’ve saved articles from Bookmarks into My Library, some of them disappeared and I’m unable to reread it. Regards, A fellow developer too.

Extremely annoying ads in standard subscription
The ads is extremely annoying and extremely long and cannot exit until it finishes playing. I spend more time watching app than reading news. Useless app. Brainless app designer.

Despite premium plan that states advertisement free, there’re still advertisements in news feed. Unable to customise what type of feeds will have notification.

App keeps crashing
The app keeps crashing whenever I press on an article to read.
app keeps logging out and not able to log in back
i am a paid subscriber. your app keeps logging out for no reason and when i log in back, the only message appears is “oops! something went weong, try again later”. keyed in the correct pw, but the app refuse to recognise my pw, i requested to change the pw via “forgot the password” and i successfully changed my pw. but still, that “oops! something went wrong message” happily appear without recognising my new pw. uninstall and reinstall done. should i terminate my subscription instead..? haih.

Unable to access content cause not subscribed
I'm fairly disappointed with the system implemented in the app. Most of the articles are being shown only 1 paragraph while others are blocked unless we are subscribed. A note to the developers if you're ever reading is that you can actually allow people to watch an ad in order to read an article if that's required for you to earn some money by giving free content. I'm not saying not to feed your journalists or writers. But if anyone that is going through hardships have to pay in order to keep themselves updated, I do think more and more people will not be updated with the news.

Those ads is terrible. This is not about income or not income but u destroy everything that your user or reader can enjoy. U already put between news some ads then u even serve FULL SCREEN ads that force us to find the X? That is too much n pure stupid or whoever that make such decision is killing impression and killing the respect of people toward your newspaper.

While using this apps, if we are not activating any video news, it should not cut off the iTunes music playback.

Sluggish performance and it takes too long on refreshing.
App launches well, but only to know it'll take quite awhile to refresh the content. That's a turnoff. But it's a start for a news app in Malaysia.

Im a student studying overseas and want an app to keep in touch with Malaysian progress. This is Not very useful. Has a tab for Tech but has no new content there. No news updates too. So, what's the point of downloading this app?
