Service is getting worse
I've used this provider for years, but the service seems to be going downhill. When I try to sign into my webmail, I constantly get an error message. Some days it works fine and others not. It is impossible to get in touch with a human via their web page. The help section just takes you to a generic page of help articles and then round and round in circles. When you do manage to get in touch with an actual person, it takes them days and days to answer. Pretty poor service all in all.

Used GMX since it first began. Was excellent but now it’s full of adverts every time you open it to check your emails!
Not recommended
Overall bad provider. Gmx emails often end up in spam filters particularly in international communications. Wouldn’t recommend

Got this email address early days no need to move, get all I need and want, had a slow down with the network as who we are Keep clam and carry on . Problem to login but never diss GMX ( I no they sort it out and they did and for shaw and they keep us inform & don’t & Data security ( no Hot mail or ? ? ( GMX I STay🌈👌

I have been using GMX for a few years now and continue to find it nice and easy to use, not over complicated in any way. Recommend!
Thread gridlock
After maybe a dozen exchanges (thread) the gmx server can’t cope and you need to begin a blank email As it can’t seem to cope with a couple hundred words below the current message
Still needs improvements
App has got slower and slower to open, and sometimes logs me out and won’t let me log back in. When this happens I need to delete the account from the app and then re-add it again. Need the option to be able to see all unread emails from all mailboxes on one screen rather than having to open each one individually. Outlook manages it, so wish GMX could. I get spam emails despite never entering the email address on any websites (it’s a spare account that I only opened to save the name so no one else could take it).

Sad to say, I’ve been using gmx and still do but not as much. The app takes a while to open ? And the ads in it are getting stupid.

Ich bekomme täglich bis zu 45 beim Mails. Mir wurde nach Anfrage gesagt wenn man das als Spam deklariert kommt das nicht mehr ins Postfach. Ich habe die immer und immer und immer wieder obwohl ich jetzt Allianz und ADAC was ja nicht wirklich von denen verschickt wird ins Spam geschickt und trotzdem bekomme ich die jeden Tag wieder

Used the app for years. Really dislike the Temu ads with nudes. So unbearably crude.
What’s happened?
Out of the blue I was locked out of my account with no explanation. Despite several emails to customer support over the course of a week, I’ve not received any replies. I use my account for work, so goodness knows how many customers I’ve lost. GMX support is non-existent, and many other people are saying the same on Trustpilot. You need to get this sorted.

The latest February 2026 upgrade of GMX Mail for iPadOS 26 had gone totally awry. Once the best email app became overnight clumsy and dysfunctional. It slowed down while deleted items (Trash) and Spam messages cannot be emptied anymore. The messages have to be deleted individually - painful loss of time to delete one by one. Indeed, there are commands to select message individually or Select All, but now ‘X’ button which supposedly should remove them, does NOTHING. Before there was a Trash Can icon and command that worked every time, either for selected only or for all the messages one wanted to get rid off. It seems that all has to be kept in for 30 days (at least the developer said that), but having delete tools for rubbish out which does not work, does not land much confidence. It is what it is - one of app upgrades that nearly killed probably the best email client around. Shame.

Can’t delete unread emails anymore
It used to be a great app for my iPad but the recent update has removed the ability to delete emails in the Unread folder without opening them. This includes the emails in the Spam folder which I definitely do not want to open. If this is fixed, it will go back to being a great app.

The mail search functionality which is a basic need for any mail app doesn’t work in the iOS mail app. No support provided after raising complaint as well.

Have had my GMX address for ages and it’s a real unsung hero.
Randomly decides to not let you log in
You would normally expect that if you have the right email and password and are logging in on a device that you were logged in on literally 5 minutes previously then you would be allowed to log in but not with gmx. Don’t even attempt the help centre, it will just tell you that you have the wrong password. Now I can’t get in to my emails to e-sign for my mortgage so the purchase of my house will fall through and life as I know it is ruined. Thanks gmx!

Very usable email app
Come over to using the App after using the Website for many years. Its layout is brilliant, very useable. Haven’t discovered how to access and manage my contacts email addresses yet though. Not obvious.
Reliable, light on resources and fast
I’ve used GMX mail for over a decade and I switch to using app version when I’m in regions with poor mobile signal strength. I prefer the security of being with a provider that is governed by the more stringent data protection of European data laws.

This app is a scam it used my main email to clear all my emails in my other account. Then this app locked me out of this email
Well it’s a pretty easy email to find your way around inside of the app and the layout is good as well glad I gave it a try I will continue using this email for years to come

To begin: when giving feedback you get this: The recipient's mailbox is full and can't accept messages now. Please try resending your message later, or contact the recipient directly. The following organization rejected your message: KAPPEX023.united.domain. Obviously GMX doesn’t care about your experience. Also creating an Email is a pain. Hoping around from place to place and is illogical in composition. Poorly thought out.

I like using this app
Spam Filter Broken
It irritates me that when I mark a sender as spam it only removes that one single email. It should automatically remove the other emails from that sender and filter out future emails. I wish stared emails were saved on the phone for access when off line. It would make travelling in foreign countries easier.

I shouldn’t have to pay to get ridiculous ads removed from my email.
