What people like
- Best tool for quick weather checks
- Clear runway wind graphics are great
- Superior data accuracy compared to others
- Excellent customer support fixes issues fast
What they complain about
- Watch sync is broken and frustrating
- Locks old features behind new subscription
- App crashes when searching for airports
- Support ignores complaints from paying users
Excellent weather app
Super useful for current conditions at airports, short term outlook, area forecast discussions, and more.
Push Notification Spam
This app like so many others has added an “App Promotions” push notification category and opted everyone in. Very poor taste and enough is enough.
NOTAM buggy
If you get a NOTAM on the lock screen of an iPhone and tap on the NOTAM the app opens to the airport page. Once in the app click on the NOTAM tab and the app immediately crashes. If you filter the NOTAMs in the app, the lock screen notifications ignore your filtering. Otherwise the app works ok.
Widget
Widget stopped working after last update.
Great app.. Needs work
Been using it for over 4 years now and it's great. Provides lots of information. My favorite part is the widget. The biggest part that needs to get an update. Allow the widget to show the ATIS associated letter. Please make this update.
Awesome App
AMEL, ASES, CFI This is a well designed app that has become a go to for me
I paid for this app and niw requires a subscription
Couple years ago, I bought this app, paid for it to use on aviation. Now, needs to pay? No reason for it. Its unacceptable.
Apps keep crashing with latest IOS 26.2.1 update.
Tried to restart iPhone multiple times to no avail. Probably one of the best app to get rapidly latest weather for favorites airport.
Still doesn’t work in slideover!
Aren’t these versions tested before they go live? iOS 26 has been out for a while now and yet the app still doesn’t work in slideover. The metar/taf window is blank after search.
I like the app
can you lower the number for Apple WatchOS number so I easily buy from there and I don’t know why my Apple Watch want to software update and can you make it for easier the app with a new update and lower the WatchOS number on Apple Watch so it will be easier and I the app but I deleted it and I can’t get it back on my Apple Watch so can you lower the watchOS number on Apple Watch so it will be easier please thank you and can you get rid of that thing that says Require WatchOS a number and later as well please because I really want to bring back to my Apple Watch and it will be easier for me please thank you and I would appreciate it thank you
My favorite Weather App
I have had this app loaded for years and is a go to app for aviation weather.
App has declined a lot
The app rarely updates the weather. It’s always wrong and you can’t force a refresh of the data. My home airport has been showing LIFR on the app now for 5 days. Unacceptable for an app this expensive. I’m moving on to a different app and not renewing my sub.
Apple Complication
I’ve used the app for years as a professional pilots and now as a hobby. The Apple Watch is great for seeing the METAR for a specific airport but sometimes, I think when the app updates, the complication stops working. This happens a little too often. Anyway you could look into this and perhaps fix it?
Another weather app in decline
Yet another app that has transitioned from in-app purchases to subscriptions. Customer service is non-existent as my concerns have never been addressed. Features are great when they work, which seems to be less often lately.
Lock Screen widgets not work
Great weather app— I use it all the time. However, efficiency of use matters a lot to me and I was very much looking forward to the lock screen widget feature. In the Widgets section, you can add your favorite airports, and to my knowledge (unless I’m doing it wrong) the airport at the top of the Widget list is meant to be displayed on the lock screen widget. KORD is the only airport that shows on the lock screen widget, and I don’t even have KORD in my regular list let alone my widget list. If this were not an issue, I’d give 5 stars. And if this is not an issue for you and you already have Foreflight, I would just stick with the free version of this app.
My go to app pre flight
This app is my critical go to the day of a flight. I put in a number of waypoints along my common routes and this amazing app allows my to quickly see every airports weather along the route. It also is by far the easiest way to see all of your TAF’s. Finally, the runway winds are very easy to read graphics allowing an immediate view of the runway / wind conditions. This app is a bargain and must have for any pilot
Useless Apple Watch complication
Latest update took my watch complication away. I can’t readd it to any spot on my watch face.
Good but Apple Watch functionality is frustrating
The iOS version works well with very useful features. The Watch OS integration can be frustrating: All my stations disappeared with the last OS update and had to be rebuilt from scratch. This would have been a lot easier if it was possible to copy and paste stations from other lists, but that is not possible: the list has to be recreated in its entirety in the iOS app, whereupon it syncs with the watch. The loss of the Watch stations has happened more than once before and I would welcome an easier way to rebuild the list.
Messed up User Defined Sort Order
This update messed up my User Defined Sort order and I can’t rearrange anything.
Amazing app with horrible watch interface
I use this app a lot for work but the complication function for the Apple Watch leaves much to be desired. 1. Even if you select airport on tap, when you tap the complication it takes you to your airport list, not the airport on the complication. 2. Synchronization doesn’t work. If I add a airport to the watch group in the iPhone it doesn’t synchronize to the watch. But if I add it via the watch, it synchronizes to the phone. So if you add it to the phone then hit synchronize, your watch will delete it since that’s like the master list.
Excellent App
Been using this app for years! Formatting and presentation are excellent and is continually being updated. A must-have app for any pilot!
Shady operations
App developer forced an app update they removed the previously included features (e.g., METAR widget). Now he required an overpriced subscription Incredibly dishonest and unethical practices
Great app, have used for years, but…
…the app is constantly crashing when I try to type an airport code in the search bar. Right now I’m stuck only having “nearest” as the only useable METAR/TAF function. Please address!
Bought cloud sync, never worked
Good little app in theory. Great features. But i paid for the cloud sync feature to be able to go back and forth with phone and ipad (which in itself was kind of scammy but ok…) the feature never worked. I contacted the devs to get it working. They simply stopped responding.
Okay for the most part.
Works well for most features however the watch synchronisation feature is broken. Adding stations to the watch group on the phone app does not sync with the watch however if you add on the watch directly, they sync with the phone. Emailed the developer a few months ago and got a reply saying it would be fixed in the next update. I think there has been a few updates since that correspondence and it is still the same.
Great product - daily user
Is there any chance you could add the MOS? Thanks!
Love the app but crashes every time now. Unusable
App has been unusable for the past few months. I want to love it but has been pretty bad.
Great App
I only recently retired as an Airline Pilot. I used this app constantly throughout my career. I used the FO subscription as I had other sources for charts etc. This app remains useful to me now that I am retired. The app has limited functionality on the Apple Watch, but that is really of no consequence as I always had my iPhone and/or iPad handy. Well worth the rather small yearly subscription expense.
I want to like it but I honestly can’t
The sync to the simplest and most useful part of the system the watch. Fantastic complications in fact probably the best. But that is where it stops. Sadly after much frustration and many pilot upgrades over the years I won’t be getting it anymore. The fact EGLC is in the English Channel doesn’t come across as helpful with the weather information. (On the watch) anyway uninstalling.
Good app but there’s issues
Have used this app for years, annoyingly a bug made me have to delete and re-download the app. Now I can’t get any METAR history, I can only get the current METAR. Very annoying, but otherwise a good app.
Great app support was useful!
**Pros:** 1. Program is exceptionally built. 2. Offers numerous features that are highly beneficial for forecasters. 3. Superior and more accurate information compared to other apps in the market. 4. Prompt and effective customer support. Upon encountering an issue, support staff provided immediate assistance and walked through the solution process after receiving the error log. 5. User-friendly interface once familiarized with. **Cons:** 1. Presence of multiple versions of the app (Lite, LITE, and Pro) can be confusing for some users. **User Feedback:** - Initially, the user experienced challenges with the widget function, which was later discovered to be a misunderstanding on their part. After guidance from the app's support, the issue was swiftly resolved. - Due to the remarkable support and the wealth of information the app provides, the user has revised their review from 3 stars to 5 stars.
They ruined their widget
This app used to be awesome, I was paying the subscription for the METAR widget. But the latest update ruined the app by having a hideous blank white background behind the widget. The intention was probably to make the text more visible but now it looks horrible on my lock screen. Way to ruin the main reason I was paying for this app.
Most-used aviation app
Working on a flight crew that flies multiple missions a day, I use this app constantly. METAR and TAF show up only slightly behind the NAVCAN site, are much easier to use and see in AeroWeather. Love the radar and runway diagram/list that shows headwind/crosswind components. Too many other good features to list. Cons: the auto-refresh on open works only sometimes, the pull down refresh almost never; refresh is consistent only with the refresh button. Apple Watch app is poor, won’t refresh in the background so it’s pretty useless.
Disappointed
App works fine. I purchased the “pro” version only to then be told that I need to upgrade still to access widget functions.
Keeps Crashing
This is a great app, however, for the last week and a half, whenever I go to type in an airport in the search bar I can only type in 2 letters and it consistently crashes. Tried everything and I can’t fix it. This is something that needs to be fixed.
Makes checking weather so easy
I’m an airline pilot and have been using this app and AeroNOTAM for over 6 years. The app has tons of great features for checking the weather quickly. Love the decoded METARS and TAFs in local time. Such a help . Having the area discussion from NOAA is also great.
Not worth it
Buy a subscription for the Lite version. The Pro version gets you nothing more and you can’t seem to set up alerts for stations.
Restart the phone
I gave the app 4 stars because it does it job great - I’ve relied on this app for my METAR, TAF, etc. That said, I don’t really enjoy the fact that there’s functionality locked behind subscription, especially for those who’ve paid for the app for a long time. If you’ve paid for it before, restart and put the widget in the bottom thing to have it work like pre iOS 14 again.
Very US focused
Some great updates but nothing that improves the European pilots experience. Very disappointing it’s so US focused.
Australian airports
We’ve been asking for more Aus TAFs for years. Still no improvement. Example: YSBK is the busiest GA airport in the Southern Hemisphere - no TAF. Please add support for this.
Best weather app
I’ve had aeroweather pro for many years. I fly for a living and it’s my number one source for METAR/TAF and NOTAM info. I like being able to scroll down and see the airport diagram along with headwind/crosswind info for each runway. It’s great being able to toggle between decoded and raw data. I really like the NOTAM display which includes red bars to the left if it’s currently in effect. I recommend the pro version for anyone who wants an easy to read and always up to date source for weather and NOTAMS.
New update doesn’t work
Crashes every search for an airport
Great app but some features should be available to paid version and not only by subscription
I have been using the app for several years and it works so well it has become a big part in my flight briefings. Hardly any app reaches the level of clarity, features and usefulness as AeroWeather. However, and although I understand the previous widgets are still available, he new iPadOS brought new widgets but the app only gives you the features if you have a subscription. I understand some services offered via the app cost the developers money and that makes perfect sense to make them available via subscription. But I feel like the pro version should give you updated widgets without the subscription because it is such a small but appreciated feature; paid customers should not have to use an older version that does not play nice with he new iPadOS, especially as the widget view is great to have an overview with other apps. Now you have to keep the old design and scroll all the way down for it...
Apple Watch ⌚️
Stops working on Apple Watch ⌚️ my subscription is good however for a while now it’s stopped working I’ve tried everything Series 8 Ultra my phone 14 Pro Max. I added it set up was good worked about a week then stopped. Right around when you guys did an update 2 weeks ago
Subscription killed the paid app
I paid for the pro app because l really like what they were doing with this once helpful app. It’s too bad the the subscription is now slowly carving out functions that were once part of the app that I originally paid for. Early adopters of this app are being edged out.
Best in class.
Nothing comes close.
Stole my money.
Paid 5 dollars for the premium subscription, yet still haven’t received the features a day later… nothing on their website mentions this issue… ridiculous
Almost perfect
Great app. I use the pro version but the notams aren’t ever up to date and many are missing so it makes the notam section unusable. It would be great to display the SNOWTAMS as well for those of us operating daily on contaminated runways.
Should have looked at the reviews
Bought pro just for the watch complication, but the metar on the watch face never updated unless I open the app on the watch, which really defeats the purpose. 😒
Latest update includes additional monetisation
AeroWeather Pro has been the go-to app for TAF/METAR for years; I guess the devs need to make the app more profitable but the new business model may put many off. This update contains micro-transactions that charge for functionality previously available within the cost of the app. For example, helpful widgets that display TAF/METARs are now only available for a subscription cost. The use of widgets was previously included within the AeroWeather cost. Others comments have been met with a Dev response saying that old widgets are still available but iOS14 has removed that option. It’s still a fantastic app but being asked to subscribe to something you already paid for will leave a sour taste for many.
