Love this app
Love being able to download the e-Paper which the other app doesn’t support
No photos when I open the app
I cannot receive any photos when I use the app, although sometimes a photo icon appears that I can click on. Very frustrating and not at all useful
Great, could be better
The app is generally very good. I particularly love the way the puzzles function. However, the iPad version is not a good as the Android version. Comments can’t be seen or made and, after a recent update, it’s now not possible to swipe through sections. One has to tap the section icon at the bottom of the page in order to access it. I also miss a lot of articles because they’re just not visible to me on the iPad, or Android, version. I guess the reason for this is that certain preferences are given priority. The only reason I know they exist is because my husband has told me.
Difficult to Scoll
Since a recent update, it is very difficult to scroll from the front page, between sections and beyond the daily photos or cartoon. Please sort this out as it’s incredibly frustrating. Reading other recent reviews, this appears to be a widespread issue.
Reading off-line ? No chance
Unbelievable that it can’t be read off line. With the Telegraph app each edition is downloaded to your device Got a response from “the developer” asking me to describe what happens when I go off line. Clicked on link and ended up down a FAQ wormhole. What happens when I go off line? I can’t access editions I’ve downloaded 💁 No such issues with the Telegraph App
Swiping Problem Fixed
Today’s update fixed the swipe problem on the news summary pages (ie unable to swipe) I’ve had for months on iPad mini. I can go back to really liking the app. Thank you.
Rubbish in Rubbish out
This wonderful app is being destroyed by bad management and useless upgrades. The swiping issue of some pages has effectively replaced them either single image. You can no longer jump to a relevant page by touching the article in question. Text size control has gone and pages don’t load. Pointless App without some serious reprogramming.
Sunday Times
Excellent app.
Another app update that doesn’t work
Yet another app update that might be one step forward (though can’t see any benefits) but 2 steps back. This time can’t scroll forward from any of the front page or following summary pages. Despite having new and latest iPad Air, latest iOS and reinstalling still can’t fix problem. If I could revert back to the previous version I would. Looking at other recent feedback this is a widespread issue and so disappointed that the Times don’t appear to be trying to fix it quickly based on email exchange with their customer service
Saved articles continue to vanish
I ‘m still sticking with this iPad app, but why do almost all my saved articles disappear? I should have a couple of dozen, probably more, but it’s down to seven, mostly irrelevant now. I think the save/get rid of button must be very fragile. And once they are gone there is no way of finding them without going to the PC and trying to recall an author or key word — not easy if it was a few months ago. I save health tips, recipes, etc. and then when I go to look for them: Nothing!
Broken Again
Unable to swipe off the Front cover or Top stories pages since the update. Please fix . I am using a IPad Air m3 with os26.4. This issue has been going on for 3 weeks with still no fix! A further 2 weeks has passed and the issue is still not fixed. How many reviews telling you of the page turning issue do you need before you do something about it? Does anybody who works for the times ever read these reviews. THE SWIPING ISSUE IS STILL NOT FIXED! Finally the swipe issue is fixed, thank you!
Dreadful
Simply doesn’t work - pages don’t load and links don’t work.
No other newspaper app comes close
----- easy to use- excellent clear photography on my I pad- the best !
New update has messed up app
New update might of benefited older pads but it has ruined newer ones. I was running The Times on two new iPads , one I updated bugged out the other without update worked fine , updated not knowing it would have an issue , now bugged , update confirmed as being corrupted. Now very difficult and frustrating when trying to swipe pages. Fix and I’ll give 5 stars , it is a good app generally.
A shadow of its former self
Was once the best newspaper app but is now riddled with problems. The latest being the reversion to the front page when returning to the app after having read some pages earlier - it used to return to where one left off; no longer. Not only do we have to put up with lack of content that is in the paper edition, links being referred to that don’t exist, fonts all over the place with headlines the same as text. We now have embedded adverts - even in the Death announcements. Please invest some time in improving this app.
Informative
Always on the ball.
It’s broken
I use this app every day - we have a live subscription, recently renewed. However, today it has downloaded ok and I can see all the top layers but tap any article to read it and you cannot access it. There is a demand to take out a new subscription. Totally unacceptable!
Mrs Mcenery
I love that I can get the Times this way, and the Sunday times when I decide to splash out. Best of all is the flexibility to stop subscribing if I want! Trying to stop directly with The Times was horrendously difficult, and I will not subscribe directly for this reason. I don't think it's the app's fault, but I don't like to have new editions (during the day, i mean) pushed at me. Bandwidth and speed are issues for me, so I want to be offered choice to update or not.
Too many glitches
Puzzles don’t work properly. Spelling mistakes . Headings in articles frequently not embolden. Responses to emails highlighting detailed issues not responded to. This is not The Times I recognise and I’ve been a subscriber for 10 years.
Cant swipe pages
I share the subscription, on my iPad with IOS 26 you can’t swipe from the main front pages, but you can on my older iPad IOS 18.
Amazing
I can’t imagine life without this go to app during these uncertain times. Access to informed point of view and enabling sharing to others and social media to continue the debate. The great paper has a great newstand.
Update unusable
I have had issues with not being able to swipe the front content pages. Hoped this version would fix it but the app has become unusable with pages not downloading. Thinking of cancelling my subscription. Why can you not just go back to the straight forward format of previous apps
Very good
I was pleasantly surprised by this app, having gotten it with low expectations. It loads entirely over 3G and doesn't take forever like some of the gargantuan magazine apps. The layout is excellent, easy to read, nice pictures and embedded video, a pleasure to flick through the pages. The content is good, better than you would get from browsing most newspaper websites, and with pleasant and swift navigation. It is free for the first month, and you don't have to supply an email address. I may well be tempered to subscribe after the month is up. Certainly one of the better newspaper apps. The only fault (and reason for only four stars) is that sometimes it crashes. It's easy to click back into it but in this day and age apps shouldn't crash.
Great but for the crashing
Excellent concept, better than the Times online website, but for me the app keeps crashing. I'm using a home WiFi connection and all the bars are at maximum and no other apps are behaving badly, so I can only assume that the new Times app has not been road tested properly. Disappointing.
Not scrolling after iOS update
Updated to iOS 26.4.2 but the app has lost the ability to scroll between pages or articles
Brilliant
Leaving aside comment on the content, which can be subjective, I am referring to the app only. It is one of the best apps I've ever used. The designers have thought very carefully about how the user will interact with the content. I can honest;y say I find it brilliant. I will never buy a paper again. It's quite simply fantastic.
Flawed
The app no longer works as it did before on iPad very frustrating
Times App
Continual issues with puzzle displays. Polygon won’t load today. Irritating!
Excellent!
A top-notch reading experience.
Not what it used to be
New update has made it super slow and glitchy. Formatting an issue too.
It doesn't include Sunday….
You need to read through all the blurb before you find out Sunday's edition isn't included - go through the Times website and buy their digital package which DOES include Sunday….
Commentary, Analysis, News
Excellent, easy layout, great analysis and commentary...
Awful
I can longer swipe between pages. I am told my Times support that they are aware of the issue and there will be an update soon, however this was a few weeks ago. I am going to cancel my subscription it’s that bad.
Works Ok, but.
Why can't I archieve or access old newspapers, for which I pay. Old copies just disapeer. Being able to "cut out" and store old scraps would make buying for contents defendable. Also the newspaper should have the option to download a full version off-line.
Times app.
Great news experience. Highly recommended.
Update awful
The new update seems to be an absolute disaster for the new iPad update. The classic version simply won’t open and none of the trouble shooting advice works. Can’t see any viable option bar cancelling my subscription
Brilliant
This a brilliant app for everything from news to sport to opinion. Some of the best journalist in a very well set up app. It rarely has any blips and is frequently updated with the latest stories during the day. Excellent.
Latest updated has created more problems
Since the latest update, it’s no longer possible to swipe from the opening page or to swipe from the leading pages of each section. It’s very frustrating and has ruined the app. Please can you fix it quickly.
