Update to Codebook 5 Failure
I’ve been a Codebook user for many years. I updated my MacBook and iPhone to the latest Codebook 5 version. The desktop version on the MacBook can no longer sync to the Codebook app on my iPhone. The Codebook app on my iPhone still lets me sync to Codebook Desktop on my MacBook at least so my data is preserved that way. If I was to loose, or upgrade my phone, I could not sync or restore data to a new iPhone from the Desktop version of Codebook. There is probably a work around, but a major update should go smoothly without me having to redo the sync setup process. The whole reason I use Codebook is because I don’t have to store my data in a “cloud” server where it can be compromised.

Great life organizer
Codebook password manager is an essential app in organizing my daily life. I use it to store my id’s and passwords for my accounts and websites. Historically I would manage this data on a MS Word document but it wasn’t efficient. I have over 300 entries in Codebook and I use it throughout every day to access my websites and obtain my account/user data. I highly recommend it as it’s one of those must have life organizers. Easy to use, huge time saver, can backup your data, secure access - it’s my most used app on my phone
Where I can get lifetime
I could not find where I can get lifetime in this version so offer for who?
Excellent application
I've been using Codebook for several years, on my desktop, laptop and phone. The price for each installation is reasonable, and there is no subscription fee and (so far) no fee for major upgrades. Highly recommended.

Hilfe! Nach dem Update komme ich nicht mehr ins Progamm. Ich habe die Software regulär vor vielen Jahren gekauft. Aber der Abgleich mit meine Apple-ID scheint nicht zu funktionieren. Bitte schnell beheben!
Can’t use after version 5
I like the product and they have freat customer sercice. My problem is after version 5 I am unable to sync between devices. I am now looking at hours of work switching to something else.

Been using the app for 10 years. Always stable & reliable with every update. I like how it’s simple & that I can organize based on my habits. Excellent!
Misrep
This app offers an in-app-purchase promotion for iOS that is not accessible. Deleted.
Ok but …
I like the app. The icons are fun, it looks good and so far in my experience it has worked with reliability. My but is simply this, having had the experience of losing vast amounts of data because of theft, I know that I need to have this data backed up where I can easily access it. Yes this app allows me to sync online, but if my phone is stolen how would I access that? I want the back up on my lap top- and the software to let me do that is comparatively expensive. I don't like finding that out after I've made my choice. My other problem with this app is that I cannot find a way to import the data from a previous password encryption package. So Ok but I have reservations. Update: There is some kind of security set up that is beyond me and although I do have back ups I have lost some very important new data.
Cryptographically strong, weak authentication...
Cryptographically it looks pretty solid... However in this day and age to talk about being very serious about security without two facto authentication is frankly a joke... fingerprint + password is required to make this best of class
Codebook Notes Lacking
Unlike the old Codebook (version 2), the new upgrade does not offer font size nor font selection for notes. Also, notes cannot be sorted by date, etc., like the old version. If they would return these two features, I would give it five stars. I bought it for notes more than passwords, so these features are important to me. Other than these few drawbacks, it's a good solid product.
Perfect
I have been using this password manager since it was STRIP (secure tool for recalling important passwords) on a Palm Pilot. I eventually moved my data forward to my iPhone, and have been using it ever since. I have accumulated hundreds of passwords, and find this software to be a perfect mix of security and use ability. Other password software automate things to the point that I feel I don’t have control. I can do that with this if I want to, but I don’t have to. Great software. Decades of security and still going strong.
Difficult To Setup Desktop Device
Could not add a desktop to devices. I have been using CodeBook for years and really like it until now. I have just recently just come into problems when adding a desktop into the mix. I have always synchronized with other mobile, tablets and laptops. Today, I tried to add a desktop. No go. It is extremely hard to do because there is no camera and QR code ability on the desktop. CodeBook instructions are simple looking but in reality are difficult to know what to do, when you start, and where to go. In the end, you need to “backup” the key and select words. This is not intuitive because you assume you need to start in add device area of the application. I tried following the online instructions. I repeatedly kept running into unauthorized mismatched keys and had to keep trying over and over. It never worked. Now looking for an something easier to setup across desktop and portable devices.
Unable to access with latest update
Have installed the latest update and now cannot get into the App. Have purchased the full version 6 months ago and have been very happy with it until latest update. Press restore purchases and it just returns back to the same screen.
Not working after IOS upgrade
Stopped working after IOS upgrade to 6.1.3. No obvious way of contacting support.
Great app
Easy to use, customizable, sync works well. Worth the couple bucks to buy the app. With iOS 8, how about integration with TouchID to authenticate instead of a password?
Best Password Manager
I have used this product for many years. It syncs between my phone and my desktop automatically. It saves pictures associated with general information I want to protect. I save photos and descriptions of my jewelry for security purposes. Plus I save combinations for safes. It is a versatile program that isn’t just for passwords but for all information that I want to stay safe.

I have had nothing but a pleasant experience with this product. Even when there are difficulties the support is so overwhelmingly generous that there is hardly any inconvenience.
Buggy App Over Rated
Import CSV feature is useless for large complex imports. App has no debug, logging or useful error dialogs. Crashed too many times for my liking.

Great App - Been Using it for Years.
Currently I’m still on an iPhone 7 Plus and Codebook has NEVER given me a problem. I love it. The only minor thing is the new icon. It has a little bit of a lower contrast than the previous one. That’s just a preference thing for me. Keep up the good work!
Sync key has broken the app
Do not waste time with this app, been using this for so many years but since they introduced this sync key feature in last update (no idea why as been working fine for many years! Or is it to try and steal user data ) lost all my data and won’t sync with Dropbox and my other devices! Really poor!
Simple and useful
Keeps me sane with all the password we need these days. Keeps all my access organized in central place with synching capability to my desktop. Simple and effective. Great app
Has problems
It was a good app until it needed upgrading, now it won't upgrade and all my stored stuff Is lost. Don't rely on it!

I asked AI about hacking: “Your data is encrypted using AES-256-CBC with HMAC-SHA512 countermeasures against tampering, and the encryption key derivation uses 256,000 rounds of PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA512 with a unique random salt. • Since Codebook doesn’t have its own servers, hackers are unlikely to bother trying to crack Codebook’s encryption — there’s no central server to target. • It was rated “by far the most resilient app to password cracking” by Elcomsoft at Black Hat EU 2012.”
Absolute charlatans
I bought Codebook 2 in 2012. Used it without incident till just recently when the app mysteriously disappeared from my phone. Further investigation found that it had been discontinued and replaced by Codebook 3. So where’s my old data gone. Help required so I’ve now sent their support multiple emails over the last week but have not received a single reply. I’ve even tried their sales team but not one iota of assistance forthcoming. Considering this is supposed to be a security app, I can’t imagine anyone reading this want to take the risk buying it.

STRIP's design is so much better than ANY of it's competitors. I've been using other tools for years. They all are limited by prescriptive templates & clumsiness. This one frees you to set up protected data on whatever you want - not just credit cards but memberships, websites, computer configurations, software registrations .....any reference base you want to protect!!!!! Because its so much easier to use and fully customize, you find yourself adding more & more useful & protected information. The way technology is going, the need to track records securely grows exponentially. These guys are the only ones who get that & make it easy for non-tech people to keep up. I found out about it by accident when Googling for the most SECURE app. It turns out it's top of the stack in security according to independent experts. But what I was surprised at was its design leadership as well. And the responsiveness of the company is unbelievable - turned around lots of questions in 12 hours. Keep it up guys!!!
Works well with good support
I’ve used for years and find it very adequate. Integration with Chrome is working for me.
Lost mastercode
I have years of important passwords stored on this app. However some glitch happened and my Touch ID wouldn’t work. I don’t recall my Masterpass code. So I can’t open and can’t resync the new app after deleting old app. So this app is totally useless.
Great but need an iPad version!
So far it is working great. But it would be really nice to have better user interface when running on the iPad. Please make an iPad version and I will buy it too.
You can keep passwords locally securely
You can keep passwords locally securely with this, it can back up directly on a local network, so right there it’s better than most of the competition. What more do you need?
Recent Touch ID update is poor
The most recent update to include Touch ID is flakey at best, just keeps asking for your Touch ID, then finally logs in, the does it again. Really poor integration !, I had to turn it off, it's too unreliable. Other apps work better with Touch ID
Great app for personal data secure storage
Simple UI, flexible with custom categories and easy to retrieve all your info with one master password. My only complaint is that it doesn't support phone rotation. Only supports iPhone in vertical orientation vs. wider horizontal orientation that makes typing easier.

Having a Codebook that I can just look up ALL my passwords and not have to worry if I can’t remember or I’m Not sure!
Stay away!
Strip is very expensive! You can no longer put Strip on your computer so that you can sync all you're devices without paying $20.00 bucks more. There are much better and cheaper ways to keep your passwords safe.
Liking it
Works well. Bought the Mac app and they work well together. I have my passwords wherever I am working.
