This is app is so cool and it is really easy to use and see what you have spent
Worst banking app I have used
This has to be the worst app UX I have encountered for a banking app. Usability and logic is very poor, can’t view cards and which account they are linked to, doesn’t tell you when a card has been dispatched, why are settings under services?, chat bot is terrible and gives suggestions not relevant to your inquiry. The app needs to be completely overhauled.
App ok, push notifications terrible
The app seems pretty good now, but the sending of push notifications is bad. I often receive the same message twice and often days after a transaction. A time to live on messages would be good (or fix the backend)
iOS 18 Update
Since updating to iOS 18 I haven’t been able to access the BankSA banking widget to allow me to quickly view my account balances and keep check on my finances. According to different sources this is because iOS 18 has made a change with legacy apps? When will this app be updated to support this change from Apple? I knew realised how much I relied on this until it wasn’t there!!

Great App
Simple to use, everything at your fingertips.
Terrible app
Glorified website. Unintuitive, slow, and difficult to use. Needs a total rethink. Chat support is poor, helpful responses but slow to start a chat so you always end up missing the messages.
Feature suggestion
I really like the BankSA app but would love to be able to set a notification for when I have a scheduled payment, that I’ve set up, due (similar to the credit card reminder) due, I would also love to see budgeting features similar to BankWest App.
Cardless cash removed!!!???
Why was the cardless cash feature removed? No one carries their cards anymore. Very strange.
Never works on Wi-Fi
I can never log on over Wi-Fi, even my home Wi-Fi which is secure. Have to change to using phone data every single time I use the app. Very annoying.
Forced use of quick balance
I don’t want to use quick balance. Stop trying to force it on users.
Easier now
It was always a pain to have to input numbers and passwords but with Face ID it’s much easier. God extended menu too. Happy so far
Cardless cash disappeared
App no longer provides cashless card option. Or is it somewhere we cant find it. And no notification to user if this option is now gone
Keyboard problem
Since the latest iOS iPad update, the virtual number pad doesn’t display when making a quick transfer. That makes it impossible to use the app for banking. iPhone still seems to work though.
Online management of Term deposit
I followed the steps and carefully moved through the process of rolling my term deposit into a 6 month term and when I reviewed the result it had been rolled into ab10 month term . It’s a most inadequate website difficult to read as print is distorted in a couple of crucial places .
won’t even open
the amount of times this app crashes in insane! i’ve been trying to get into it and all it does is load, it says face id unavailable but won’t open when i put my security code in either! ridiculous
Needs more features
I’d love the savings, credit and debit feature most other bank apps have. I miss them.
awful
bank sa is by far the worst bank you could ever choose to be with. they will hold your money for 2 days every time you get transferred a large sum. meaning you’ll get paid later than every other person in your workplace. they regularly shut down mobile banking for maintenance- so you won’t be able to use the app at all for 24 hours completely randomly! and they decided to remove to only useful feature: careless cash! doesn’t exist anymore with bank sa. absolutely ridiculous. change banks, for your own sake 🙏🏻
Rudimentary at Best
The logon flow is a major paint point and barrier to being my everyday banking app. Never seems to remember my preference for "quick logon" and I've forgotten how many times I've enabled it. The additional "security code' — a primitive form of MFA — breaks compatibility with iCloud Keychain so if you use super strong unique random passwords you must copy and paste them manually, including my CAN because I don't use the app often enough to remember it. Congrats if you can get this far. I guess I can't really blame BSA, it's merely a whitelabel solution from WBC. BTW: 2004 called and they want their app and website back.
Login painful
Every time I try to use this app, it asks me to login, even though every time I log in, I set up quick login. Then it almost always won’t accept my credentials but, if I go to the desktop and log in with those same credentials, they do work. I’m so glad I only have a loan account with this bank and don’t have to use it for all my financial transactions.
My least favourite bank app
I particularly dislike how if I haven’t “closed” the app for a while, when I open it it’ll show me where I was, but then immediately go to an error telling me I have to log in again (which is just a faceid button away from the Home Screen anyway). Why can’t it either go straight to the Home Screen, or automatically try to log me in if it’s been to long? On the plus side, careless cash, payid, and contactless all work fine.
Amateur and incompetent
App will say you have the wrong password despite being correct. Constantly reminded to verify your ID. Did you not do this when I opened the account? Absolutely 21st century amateur and incompetence at its peak!
Bonus interest notification
I’ve opened a bonus saver interest account, it would be nice to have a notification somewhere on the screen showing that you have met the bonus interest criteria for the month. This would be helpful. Other banks have this feature which is fantastic 😎
Cant dispute charges
The app will consistently bug out when trying to dispute a charge and leave you on an endless loading screen :/ updated to latest version, restarted my phone. Still happens
Upgrade!
This app is soo slow! The menu is all out of order! When I deposit money into my local ATM this app doesn't process it until 48hrs later! So I can't transfer money right away! Soo stupid! Please upgrade NOW!
Unable to make extra repayment to loan
I used to be able to make extra repayment to my existing loans but now it looks like I cannot just transfer from my account to my loan account.
