Best CarPlay interface
Been beta testing the 5.0 for a short time and it’s by far the best OBD/Carplay integration yet!!
No code list??
Unable to figure out how to actually read the codes when a check engine light comes on. Not plug and play friendly. Thought I was upgrading from my FixD so that I would be able to see it on my CarPlay but I haven’t gotten any real info out of this app at all. I even purchased a new OBD scanner from their list of approved devices. Going back to FixD.
Nice App
A very nice app that shows many checks you are looking for on your vehicle. One thing I am hoping that gets updated on the map section is the MPH display. At times it shows and other times it doesn't. And at times the carry over into a new speed limit is not updated. Outside of that I really like the app. It is very customizable.
Suddenly closing
When I open start a navigation, it suddenly closes the app. It is also the same on CarPlay.
AI coded app with unique features
Is it a good idea to give a AI coded app access to your OBD port? You be the judge. Has cool features, sadly upon determining the development process I'm not comfortable using it now let alone spending $. The nav loses to GMaps for me, wish I could use Pelican's nav more reliably since I wouldn't get the widgets I pay for otherwise
Best automotive app EVER
I stumbled on this app on twitter of all places. It works seamlessly with my car and the developer actively looks to add new vehicles every few weeks. It's such an awesome interface and makes it easy to log trips. Would highly recommend if anyone is looking for a trip logging app that connects directly to their car! One thing I wanted to add is that some people are probably confused by the purpose of the app. I don't think you should see this app as replacing Google maps for instance. This app is a digital logbook for your drive and it shows everything, your speed, tire pressure, fuel level, all that. And then it logs it for you so you can go back and know your exact statistics from every single drive. I think some people get confused because they open this app and they wonder why it doesn't have all the features that Google I don't think this was first and foremost meant to be a navigation app, it was meant to be a trip logging app.
No instructions and support
The interface gives no flow how to get started. Also to get any support you must join GitHub. They themselves are so paranoid of bots make joining a full cavity search process. I really wanted this app but will not jump through multiple hoops just for them. I subscribed but will be dropping immediately before my two weeks are up.
Good improvement on Apple Maps
I use this app in my vehicles, connected via a Bluetooth ODB scanner. Sets up quickly and works fine. As much as I like Apple Maps this lets you add useful custom widgets to the display. Developer is working hard and frequently releasing updates. Purchased the lifetime license, happy with the app.
Has potential, but check compatibility first
There’s a lot of promise from this app, but so far my experience has been very mixed. Currently I use the BMW app for trip statistics/vehicle status, Waze or AppleMaps for my daily nav/traffic mitigation, and a couple OBD2 apps for scanning and live telemetry. This app would potentially be a godsend, combining all the above into one, customizable, CarPlay compatible, interface. But alas, my vehicle is not yet fully supported and there is no telling how long I’ll have to wait. Top that off with the fact that, so far, I’ve found that, yes the app is full of features, but It doesn’t really excel at any of them. Or at least not enough to sway me away from the other apps I’m currently using. The CarPlay interface and navigation has also been a bit buggy so I’ve ended up running the app on my phone (to test trip logging) and just using other navigation. Hopefully someday I’ll come back and give it another shot
Such a cool app!
I love this app, everything regular CarPlay lacks Sidecar provides. It’s such an underrated app that makes having CarPlay so much more enjoyable.
Total waste of money
The developer has plugged this app in forums, Reddit, and websites to build up a hype bubble they burst quickly. It is not a bad idea, but the app is way overpriced and it shows so much pointless data. I mean, does anyone really need a constant view of tyre pressure?
Cool features - complicated
I think the app is awesome and super cool. I don’t really understand how to add a vehicle and frankly don’t want to share my cars vin in an app. BUT And I cannot express how much I enjoy this- SATELLITE MAPS. Google Maps has it, but the quality is so bad. Literally is the best. Maybe add traffic lines also!
Love the app but needs a wider range of Obd protocols
When using the app I love the wide variety of choice and options u get interface is nice and clean but for older vehicles and cars that have a different way of connecting and decoding via Obd port are left out like that’s unfortunate besides I still use it to drive around and navigate but would be much nicer and cooler if it worked with my car too
Finally a do-it-all navigation app
I do a lot of driving in my crosstrek, I’ve wanted a way to watch temperatures of various parts of my car. Sidecar lets me see tire pressure, oil temp and engine coolant temp all while navigating. It’s clean and responsive. Also 100% the fastest route finding app. It tries to find a route before you even finish typing the address. Also rerouting is literally instant. I don’t know what kind of magic is behind the scenes, but 10/10 recommend trying it out.
My car is not supported
The app is useless without developer support, and the support team isn’t responding.
Great App!
Great app! Please add support for Volkswagen Atlas. I love the 3D Map and widgets. Also along with Apple Music widget, please add support other streaming widgets (i.e. Spotify, SiriusXM, YouTube Music, etc) to the map.
still need improvement
I belive what would make users use this app even more would be fixing the search bar on the maps section. you always have to paste an address and most of the time it takes you somewhere else.
Absolutely Amazing
this app is the best carplay app ever. loving using it to see my gas levels on carplay, and i use it almost every single day
No support for getting refund on removed features
I paid the $9.99 price when Safari in CarPlay was added. The feature was removed a few days later as the developer was told by Apple to remove it. The app said we could request a refund. When I did that with Apple my refund was denied and there’s no way to appeal it after the first appeal even though the app developer says that it should be eligible for refund.
Great App! Would Love to see more Features!
Im from Germany so please, add the Bluetooth OBD 2 from „Carly“ thats the one we use here and running diagnostics etc via this app instead of the official app from them would be awesome!!
Good but Not Good Enough
Unlike Google maps or Waze, this app, Sidecar does not show speed limits or the speed you’re driving. This is a known deficiency in Apple Maps and until Apple institutes a speedometer and speed limit notification in its Maps app Sidecar is really useless. Unfortunately, it’s pretty good but lacking. So until Apple adds those features, I will continue to use either Waze or Google maps as my primary navigation choice .
Great App, doing more than Apple will
This app is super innovative and constantly improving. CarPlay is an untapped gem and Sidecar shows what is possible when someone puts effort into growing an application. Glad to have found this early enough to watch it continue to evolve and improve!
Scam Alert – Paid for Features They Removed!
I paid specifically for features that were later removed without notice. When I contacted support, they refused to give me a refund. This feels like a bait-and-switch. Be very careful before giving them your money — total scam behavior!

Amazing
Love love love please add icons for Mazda <3
Garbage App
Get Car Scanner Pro instead for 8 bucks, an engineer’s dream app that is way more capable and missing all the pay walls.
Too expensive
In Europe it’s almost 12 euro for the YouTube App
Awesome new app
I have been a beta tester and was amazed by the dedication he Jeff puts in to improve. Now waiting on Mach-E on boarding (actually next in line) But if you have a OBD scanner, must give it a chance.

Coole App, aber…
Die App ist eine coole Lösung, jedoch funktioniert „Now Playing“ nur mit Apple Music und nicht mit Spotify. Es wäre super, wenn Now Playing auch für Spotify gehen würde
Really neat concept and great execution
The concept of CarPlay widgets that this app displays and uses is amazing. It’s a shame that widgets aren’t built into CarPlay by default because they really are incredibly useful and makes CarPlay a lot more unique to each person and less bland. I’m writing this review at a time when this app is essentially brand new and I can say that in its current state it’s blown me away.
I hate subscriptions
Wish I could just pay for something. This isn’t worth monthly transactions.
Toyota Tacoma 2021
No connectable that display any information I can pin them to my map but they are blank so I don’t know if they just aren’t available for my truck or what it’s a shame because I was really hoping it would support my truck because I liked the idea of this app
Awesome app
Just started playing around with this app after seeing it on instagram. Ordered a scanner to further play with it and get real time information for my Silverado. Interested to see what the developer has in store in terms of future features and integration!
