Gluten Free Scanner Doesn’t Always Work
The Gluten Free Scanner is an amazing resource for people who are slightly allergic to gluten or new to there gluten allergy but if you have celiacs be very careful using this app. Occasionally, as most apps do, it has its struggles. For example, I can scan a barcode for something and it says gluten free but the label doesn’t say gluten free. So a little disclaimer there to always read labels if you’re not sure. Another example it doesn’t work with no WiFi. I think it is important for people who have no access to internet to have resources that they can rely on. Not all people are able to read labels and not all places allow WiFi use. Of course this app is amazing for quickly scanning to see if something is gluten free. But if you’re not sure, check the label. For a free app with no subscriptions it’s an amazing resource but check the label before completely relying on this app.
New to GF
This app has been a lifesaver so far. My daughter just hit diagnosed with Celiac and appreciate the accuracy of the app.
Gluten scanner
This is a terrible app and very inaccurate! Dangerous to those who use it who don’t know a lot about celiac disease and scan items that really aren’t gluten free. Don’t waste your time!!

Camera stopped working?
Before the app broke for me it was fantastic, however after paying the premium for offline scanning it stopped working, I’ve checked and it still has access to my camera on my phone. I’ve uninstalled, reinstalled, turned camera permissions off and on, done literally anything I can think of to fix it and it still isn’t working. Very frustrating and disappointing, especially since I can’t find any customer service line to get in contact via to try and remedy this.

Lots of products I scanned were not found.
Great tool for sufferers of Celiac
Family members require gluten free products. This app eliminates the guess work.
Oreos definitely have gluten
I was just testing it out on food around the house that others in the house eat. The app said that Oreo Thin Mints does not have gluten. I could see how it could miss an obscure product but to get Oreos wrong doesn’t build a lot of confidence.

This app works great the best one I have found yet I find it to be very useful when in none English speaking countries although not every product out there is on the app you can add the product very simply Once again I love this app and have and will continue recommending it to gf friends, and family that shop for food and are concerned of gluterning me!!!
Long adverts
Good scanner with decent amnt of items that it knows (major brands anyway). But the adverts will come right as you scan (and happens about every 10 scans) and they are LONG and interactive advertisements! You’ll have to keep screen open for it to go away, and we are talking one minute 45 seconds long!! Unless you want to pay for no adverts (which it allows), you’ll be in a store, scan an item and get to see maybe half a second to see it’s got gluten or not, and that advert comes in, your stuck for awhile-can’t even change screen while it runs. Very frustrating. Still haven’t found a work-around on the adverts. That’s what gets it a 2 star

I never leave reviews, but felt this one was important. It will tell you items are gluten free, and while that may be correct. They are still items that are manufactured in the same factory as items that contain wheat. i.e.- Doritos, the app will tell you that the Nacho Cheese Doritos are gluten free. That may be correct. But they are made in the same factory as products containing wheat. So, not safe.

Doesn’t have nearly any products when I scan them. Not super useful for someone newly celiac

Highly inaccurate
🚨🚨🚨WARNING🚨🚨🚨This app is highly inaccurate. Multiple items in our pantry that we thought were safe for our child to consume (celiac disease) turned out to have gluten even though this app said they were gluten free. If you’re just gluten conscious because you think it is healthier then go ahead and use this app but if you have celiac disease or are actually gluten intolerant then stay away from this app as it can lead to misinformation and worse for you or one of your loved ones.

Très bonne application pour les produits sans gluten
Not accurate
I use another gluten-free scanner plus, I also check with the manufacturers website. There have been a couple instances where this scanner has told me something was gluten-free when it actually did contain gluten. I’ve gotten sick before, so now I use this and another scanner and most of the time this one is incorrect. If you have celiac disease, please be careful using this app.
Something went wrong
I scanned a chocolate bar. Came up gluten free. Happy days. Till I’d eaten half of it and read ingredients. First thing it read was it contains gluten wheat milk soy. Not putting the app down but be cautious

Everything I scan says product not found. So I decided to scan things I have previously scanned before and it told me what had gluten and what didn’t. Now it’s says those products are not found. What a joke.

Hallo, ich habe Zöliakie und habe mir diese App runtergeladen, um es mir einfacher zu machen. Ich habe ganz normale Weizen Nudeln gescannt und er sagt, dass diese glutenfrei sind. Dies ist aber leider nicht so normalerweise Nudeln sind nicht glutenfrei das weiß ja jeder die Apps sagt leider was anderes, aber sämtliche Nudelsorten gescannt und jedes Mal sagt er sind glutenfrei.

So many missing products
Downloaded, went to pantry and it only recognized baked beans. Every other product was missing, deleted app. Great idea for an app but lacking so many products is not for me!
Is it gluten free?
Scanned Tesco wholewheat fusili pasta and it told me it was gluten free, is this correct? wholewheat pasta does contain gluten. Not sure this is 100% accurate.

It didn’t have a lot of food that I needed

Amazing I can find so many different foods of this so I do not get an upset stomach. Everyone should get it and it’s so great and it scans all my things when I just put it on and it helps out for a gluten-free and celiac people.
Poor customer service.
I downloaded and paid for add free subscription. The first day, I didn’t have any issues with it. The second day, when I open the app, the scanner is just showing a black screen. I emailed them about the issue and no response to this day. It’s been a couple of days. Very poor customer service.
