Super cool app
I built a platform for my team and I get notifications when they finish their tasks it was super easy to build.
No banners or notifications
I see the alerts if I check the app itself but no notifications. All are enabled and persistent
Great app but missing key features
Thank you for making this app and keeping it free. Very useful in my homelab home assistant self hosted setup. Missing key features: 1- Fix badge notifications not working 2- Enable the user to rename and reorganize his topics 3- Enable notifications control per topic. The minimum viable product would be to at least being able to silence a topic so the user is informed only when he opens the app. More control would useful to take avantage of the priority setting (which make no difference today) and make this app 6/5 stars. Thank you!
Notifications on manual reload
I only see notifications & test notifications if I manually reload the topic.

Limited Settings
Don’t get me wrong, this is a brilliant app considering its price (free) but I wish there was an option to change the notification sound in settings.
Cant do images on iOS
This is very simple to use it works fine for text. However, I need images. So I have to switch to pushover

Unable to get the actual notification to my phone. Even though my phone is set to loud badges and notifications. The app never makes a noise or show a notification has been received. Desperately need this to work but no luck

Just what I needed
I needed to receive notifications of an automation that I configured on my Mac device and I found this application, really easy to configure and use. Thank you for that! The missing star is for a potential improvement window and not a negative point, which would allow us to read at least certain attached files (.md, .txt) or receive longer messages if the content is a bit longer.
FIX IMAGES!!!
This is an excellent notification tool. I’m however, stuck using the web PWA interface in order to get images. This is basic functionality and should be able to be done. Please fix this. It’s been two years since you’ve worked on this last. Works fine in windows. It works fine on Mac. It works fine in a web browser. But on an iPhone in the app, no. Please fix this.
Nice app, but needs a usability improvement
I appreciate that a free app is basically someone's hobby. I'm grateful for having this. But why do so many apps insist on cutting off long labels with ellipsis and make my it impossible to read the full label? This app requires use of obscure topic/channel names. Okay great, but how am I ever supposed to retrieve the topic if there is literally nowhere in the UI where it is displayed fully? Suggested improvement: extend the topic display to be dynamic text and not a limited one line label. having multiline topic is essential.
Need Time Stamps
I love ntfy and the fact that I can self host it. It has been absolutely amazing! I do wish that there were proper time stamps for previous day notifications like there are for the same day. I can tell exactly what time I received a notification if it happened today, but anything prior to today just says yesterday or the date I received it. I hope this is implemented in the near future.

Leider wird man nicht über neue Notifications benachrichtigt. Man muss selbst die App öffnen umbzu schauen, ob was im Briefkasten liegt. Kann doch nicht die Idee sein…
Amazing Possibilities
I’m enjoying this app so far, and have already found some wonderful use cases. One feature I’d love to see is a per-topic priority level filter for notifications. As of my testing, currently I get notifications for EVERYTHING regardless of priority. I’d love to filter out priority 1/2 notifications and only receive 3+. Please be sure this is set at the topic level. Thanks!
Disappointing
Is this app being updated anymore? You can no longer tap notifications to view links which makes the app unusable. No hyperlinks or anything, just plain text. Ntfy also still does not have functionality for setting friendly names or images for topics, which is far behind other platforms.
Hard to enable push notifications
I spent over hour trying to get push notifications to work on my self hosted ntfy server… even put the upstream base url … still couldn’t get it working.. iPhone 17. UPDATE: okay it’s finally working after reinstalled the app. Thanks
Im not a bot
Very good app! Dev actually listened to feedback and applied a suggestion. Extremely useful tool. Probably one of the best apps for iOS and beyond!
Waste of time during emergency
The app sent alerts but without any sound. I checked and made sure nothing is on mute, everything was loud and clear yet no sound during test or after. Waste of time!
Just wish the communication was two way instead of just one way
On iphone I cannot publish to a topic from the ntfy app itself, I have to use the web app in the browser for that, this is something you should be able to do from the app itself or using some integration with IOS shortcuts or Tasker etc. My use case is that I want to use ntfy as a shared clipboard to send and receive text between my iPhone and the computer

No live updates and no notifications. It updates only manually.
Needs more robust features
Markdown support and attachments are abysmal in this. Sure there is the fully featured webapp, but notifications are delayed or not delivered when the app is closed (I think that is an iOS issue). Bottom line, a more polished native app would be perfect.

L’application sous iOS17 possède pas mal de fonctionnalités qui ne fonctionnent pas, oubliez : - les priorités de notifications - le formatage en Markdown (appli et notification) - les images et fichiers joints - le choix du son des notifications De plus l’application malgré ces nombreux problèmes est rarement mis à jour depuis 2 ans.

Please implement the Feature to mark and copy text. Also you are currently unable to open attachements which would be very important too (opening log files) Would love to give 5 stars

Kein Senden möglich
Die App ist einfach gestrickt, wie ntfy auch und deshalb ideal für kurze Benachrichtigungen. Aber die iOS Version kann nicht senden, sondern nur empfangen. Müll. PC Version und Android können beides. Wieder ein Punkt von mehreren, bei dem Android es besser macht. Also wieder löschen.
Pretty good for tinkerers
The app works pretty well. Was simple to set up and the instructions were clear. Occasionally I do get a “new notification“ notification saying that ntfy was triggered, but my data doesnt come through. Other than that. Smooth sailing

Empfangen klappt gut und schnell. Es wäre schön, wenn man von der App aus auch senden könnte. Mit einer Test-Notifikation geht es doch schon.

Schade dass die App nicht mehr weiter entwickelt wird. Habe das gleiche Problem wie alle kürzlich Rezessionen berichten. Keine Push Nachrichten. Selbst in der App sieht man die neue Nachrichten nur wenn man neu lädt. Leider Zeitverschwendung

The app does what it's designed to do very well. It will crash if clearing all notifications and there's a lot of them
Eine Menge Bugs
Die Funktion alle Nachrichten zu löschen, führt zu einem Absturz der App, des Weiteren erhalte keine Benachrichtigung bei Eingang einer Nachricht. Und ich muss manuell die topics laden.

Poor cousin to other platforms
This app is perfectly useable, and you would have to say given the cost pretty decent overall. However, it is very basic. No ability to rename topics, which is a problem if you’ve gone for security by obscurity. Also, no ability to permanently or temporarily mute a given topic, in case things get a bit noisy. More generally it would be nice if we could change notification effects by topic. Personally I find it hard to justify these limitations when (free tier) commercial alternatives exist. I like self hosting, and being in control, but feature parity is necessary to some extent. Nice effort, but more work required. I would be willing to pay a one-off fee for the app, if it offered more. Not into subscriptions though, that would most certainly kill the overall solution.

Ich nutze Iphone 15 und Ipad Pro. Die Nachrichten lassen sich immer noch nicht vergrößern, wenn man draufklickt. Wenn das gefixt ist, gebe ich auch mehr Sterne.

Great idea but ios app needs work
It seems the notifications will only display if the app is open in the foreground at the time they're sent, rendering it useless for any real application. Also they only appear as a temporary badge, never in the drop down notification drawer or on the lock screen, even though these are enabled in the settings
