Simplicity at its finest

This app is amazingly easy to use. I’m hooked lol

No information for Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is regulated by the FAA, just like any other US State or Territory. Not including PR in the app is a deal killer for me.

Not bad

I just think they should remove the subscription so that everyone using this app will have a better experience.

Map notifications

Hospital helipad right down the street. No indication of its existence except a notification saying ‘helipad within 1 mile’. No icon, no safety radius, nothing. If I’m in an area I do not know I need to know the specifics of these things and these are featured in other apps. Be advised before you purchase is all. Cancelling personally. Begs the question ‘what else isn’t on this map’, too rich for my blood.

Useful so far.

This tool seems useful in that before you fly at any given location you can be notified before unknowingly breaking any laws. I still will get permission if say I am a park with a staff.

Great App for the Detail-Oriented UAS Pilot

Found this app as a recommendation from a FB group and it has been my go-to for every flight. I do have the paid version which includes all the weather features, and it has been worth every penny. I like the ability to fully notate missions, file LAANC easily, add custom checklists, and export the missions as a PDF for my records. I haven’t had any major issues and the few technical questions I had were addressed quickly by the developers. I use on iPhone, iPad, and the online browser and the data syncs up nicely.

Seriously?? You Can’t Change Your Email Address??

The app asked if I wanted to use Apple to sign up and pay. So I did for ease of use thinking I’d change the email from my personal one to my business email. But there is no option to change it. Ridiculous.

Fantastic App

I thoroughly enjoy flying my drone, even more when I know that I have gone through the proper steps for safety for myself and for others. The app helps me in my planning of where to fly limitations and other aspects that make flying a drone so awesome. I might recommend somehow adding a layer in the map to show some of the powerlines or utility lines that might give another deterrent or help in proper planning for flights. Craig

Further Coordination

I haven’t used the app really at all and coming from Air Control this one seems better BUT for such a good app I don’t understand why you guys don’t have “Further Coordination” feature like most of the other laance apps. That’s the only thing making me not want to fully swap over. Being able to request in advance in more restrictive air spaces is a must since you can get auto approved.

Seems that it only is useful if you’re flying in the US but shows no information about international locations

Best LAANC authorization app out there!

This is the easiest app to use! Keeps track of missions, instant authorizations, inexpensive and actually easy to navigate!

Mostly Great

I’ve been using AutoPylot for about a week or so across 6 flights. I’m a newly certified Part 107 pilot but my flight plans and logging have been for recreational purposes. I love the mission planning, mapping and checklist features. The near real time data for weather, NOTAMS, TFR’s and airspace is invaluable, not to mention staying on top of procedures with the checklists and tracking flight time. Checklist templates are great. But a few key things can be improved. 1.) Let me set a default checklist template or let me select on mission creation. One less step than importing it manually. 2.) Let me input my own drone insurance or disable the uninsured/sales ads. I already have business insurance that covers drones. My flights are insured. I pay for AutoPylot+. I should not be seeing these ads and my flight logs should not be reporting I’m uninsured. 3.) Let me manually input my flight time. My mission may have run for an hour, but in that hour with 4 battery packs will only result in roughly 30 minutes of flight time since each battery on my custom drone allows approximately 7 minutes of flying. The estimate flight time now reading 6 or 7 hours in my logs is more like 2-3. 4.) There is some kind of glitch where after finishing my flight, when entering “Notes” as I do for my after-action report, I am unable to safe because of an error that the system is already trying to save. I am forced to copy my text, restart the app then paste back into notes to save it. Improving those 4 areas would make this app a near 10/10 for me. So far the experience has been good, but for the sake of the quickly growing hobby and commercial use, get ahead of the competition and really make this app stand out as a rock solid choice for all drone operators to use.

Two issues

Hello! I’ll say again and again. Why update app without updating your maps? Please update your Maps! I do not enjoy going to Google or another app for a map to see details that your outdated maps are missing. For $40/yr you should have updated maps!

Best App Ever!

I’ve used AutoPylot for half a year now. It has worked flawlessly and has been a huge asset for my drone business. It’s kept me out of certain trouble where I may have flown when restrictions were in place. So this is a must have app if you are going to fly a drone, period.

Intuitive and efficient

By far the best LAANC app I’ve used. Other apps change branding or versions all the time, or try to connect to the bird. This one works in seconds. Input: Position, Start time, Duration and Altitude. LAANC approval and email received before the bird is fully booted. No proprietary checklists before flight, no connection to aircraft data collection. Apple founder would say, “it just works’.
